Dead-Drop Escarpment on my bad side

Hecate's stomach rumbled angrily, her own ears flicking in annoyance. She hadn't seen anything for miles, last meal being a day or so ago. Things were scarce this time of year, the critters hadn't just yet come out of hibernation and all the carcasses were growing gooey with rot. Hecate would be damned if she went near anything of the sorts. Her attitude proved even worse today. Everything seemed to be going wrong and she couldn't shake a certain intensity she was feeling in the gut. Running on thin patience, she decided to go a little out towards the mountains. They must have something, right? As she trod along, the scent of somewhat old blood reeled her in closer. Trying to catch a better look, her vision pushed past trees to find a solid rock backdrop. How odd, what was this doing here? And why did it smell like blood? Her curiosity piqued, picking up a brisk jog to follow her nose. And to her surprise, apparently the rock wall had some sort of use in being here. A small, unsuspecting doe had plummetted to her death, probably fleeing from someone with intentions parallel to Hecate's. Although the kill was at least a day or two old, the skin hadn't split open around any of the really viable meats like the stomach, legs, and chest. She took a quick glance around before going in for a bite.

OOC! Oh yes good idea! Let's have Hecate make the first move cuz Moon would be nice otherwise.

The day was not really anything special. The dark woman had walked the borders and taken a nap and now was currently looking for some food for the caches. She had decided to leave the cove since the prey was scarce there. Large dark paws moved easily over the terrain while her coal like nose searched for any signs of prey. After walking for a while before the scent of blood crossed her path. It was an almost stale scent so Moonshadow didn't take care to walk quietly. The ebony woman followed the smell to a large boulder. Silver eyes searched for the source of the blood before falling on a smaller doe that had seemed to have fallen to her death. The doe wasn't the only thing the the cove female spotted. There was a woman whose pelt was the exact opposite of her own and was about the same size as herself however was considerably thinner. True to her personality Moon gave a light 'hello' to announce her arrival as to not startle her. She gave a warm smile and a wave of her tail while she had held a neutral stance standing a respectful distance away. It had been a while since the dark female had met someone new so the prospect of meeting a new face excited the beta. Never having a confrontation with a strange the soon-to-be mother felt no danger. Why would she?

Hecate was stripping the doe's hock of its buttery flesh when a chuff announced itself from her backside. Her tail instinctively raised to align with her back, slightly curling at the tip and she turned to see the visitor. Hecate's hauntingly calculating eyes sized up the woman in front of her. It was difficult to smell through the blood smeared over her muzzle, but this lass was definitely pregnant. She quietly scoffed, remembering back to when she was carrying Attica... and how she never received any handouts. She cleared her throat with a slightly unimpressed smirk. "Sorry love, I ain't handin' anythin' out today." The woman looked somewhat similar to Morganna, Cate's gut clenching in sour distaste. You know? Hecate never got any recognition or help from anybody while she was due. It was only after she was chased out and the pup was born, people started coming around. As if she needed more help then. And fuck if she was tired of these sicky sweet couples having pride in "being a team" or "being sooo in love". It's all fucking bullshit, nobody ever really means it- you turn a naked eye and they'll be right back where they started. Hecate wasn't sure if it was the lack of food in her stomach or the annoyance of this woman's stench, but she was in a god awful mood today.

Her scent had only just begun to change and the dark woman had yet to fully notice. Sure she knew there were changes but she hadnt put two and two together that she was now carrying children. So she proceeded as her usual friendly self. The other woman turned towards Moon raising her tail to be level with her back. Not thinking anything of it other than she was startled the cove woman just smiled. When Hecate's comment reached silver dusted ears confusion washed over her features. Silver eyes cast down to the doe and clearly saw it had fallen to its death not have been killed by a wolf. One could say the white woman chased it to its death but the scent of blood was at least a day old so that wasn't the case. The only thing the woman had on Moon was that she arrived only moments before.

"That's alright. I'm not lookin' for a handout" she replied with a kind tone. She was looking for something to bring back to the cove but she could always find something else. She would try her luck however, maybe this stranger would be kind enough to share. "I was just lookin' for somethin' to bring back to my pack." There wasnt anyone's scent but her own on the light colored female. Maybe she needed a home? "Maybe we could share the deer? Since we found it almost at the same time?" Moon asked with a friendly wag of her tail. "You could have most of it and I could take either one or both back legs." She added to sweeten the deal. Maybe the loner would be swayed with the offer of keeping most of the free meal. It would be better than none after all.
