Jessie Tainn
Tagging  @Lilya @Lachesis but all members of HR are welcome. Set after her thread with Ice here. Scouting dem 1/3

After she finished her business in Oak Tree Bend, she had made quick work to make her way towards Heathwood River. Jessie knew she had been gone from home for too long and it was only a matter of time before Drestig started to question where she was. They had not left on the lightest of notes and she wanted to get home in order to resolve things. The former Scout moved slower than normal, a direct result of her aching limbs and the snow covered lands. The Tainn knew she was getting older but she did not trust anyone from back home to do what needed to be done, including her lover. As she made her way to her last stop, Jessie did her best to clear her mind of any emotions that would get in the way of what she had to do. This duty is important. She had family in Hearthwood anyway and other connections that would hopefully make it easy for her to get through this. Lilya had come to visit her not that long ago before she had set off and she hoped she could use that relationship to her advantage.

It took about a week for her to finally get to the borders Hearthwood River and by that time Jessie was thoroughly exhausted. She tried to not let it get in the way but knew that the cold was getting to her along with the lack of pack stability. She sighed and watched as a cloud of white formed in front of her eyes. The sooner this was done, the sooner she could go home. With this in mind, she called out for the pack leaders of Hearthwood River, unsure if anything had changed since her last conversation with Lilya and holding onto the hope that things had not changed too much.

Lachesis "XIX" Stark
@Lilya
excuse awful post >.>

Aside from Drestig’s visit the pale leader had not heard much from the pack south of the monadnock. While XIX knew that Kisla was familiar with the pair leading the newly established pack he was not. Lachesis knew nothing of the raven wolf and his mate; however, he was familiar with the silver spider that led the growing pack in the tundra and the healer wanted to ensure that alliance did not crumble. The ghost remained wary of the Rye wolves, keeping his nose to the ground and his ears perked for any news. Whitestone seemed to be keeping their distance (for now), just like the river wolves, but Lachesis was curious as to whether any undesirable encounters had occurred between the two packs. Craw was not pleased with their arrival and had expressed that during their last meeting. He had told his little sidekick, Inna, to keep an eye on the new pack as well and to report back to him immediately if she heard anything unusual, or interesting.

A call sounded as he skirted the edge of the forest, his slender body weaving through the trees with an eerie, ethereal grace. The voice was not a familiar one, which caused his brows to furrow immediately. A flicker of hope burned in his chest as XIX diverted from his original route, but as he neared the stranger he soon realized that the wolf was cloaked in the same scent that clung to Drestig’s fur. Almost immediately a frown cut across his pale features, his pace quickening as he closed the distance between himself and the Rye wolf. With his head raised slightly the ghost approached the green-eyed female, a brow raised softly as he studied the older wolf. “What brings you to Hearthwood?” He asked once he stopped, chartreuse gaze focused on his guest while he silently hoped that his co-lead was not far behind.

"Lachesis" "Jessie" Sorry this took so long, it got lost in my tags!

She was not a huge fan of her role, and Lachesis knew that. She fought to keep that fact suppressed from the rest of the pack, a casual reminder in her head that it could cause some form of instability, not that she thought it would. Everyone knew her role was temporary, pending Kisla’s return to the throne and her crown. However, she’d do what she could. Lilya had been patrolling the borders when she heard the call, her ears perking upward and a wide grin finding her features. She knew that voice. She instantly broke into a run, hoping she’d make it there before her co-leader to perhaps greet and catch up a little… alas the luck was not there.

She arrived and heard her friend’s question, her icy gaze light and a wag of her tail swaying from side to side, her voice warm as she spoke. “Jessie, it’s good ta see ya again.” It was the truth – she liked to consider the monochromatic woman to be her friend. “Ah ‘ope you n’ yer family ‘ave been well?” She didn’t know how much Lachesis actually knew about her pack or the leader herself, however she did hope that he would pick up on her cues. She was hardly a threat, and she’d like to think that this would be a friendly meeting.

Jessie Tainn
Scout dem 2/3

She did not have to wait long at the borders. The sound of soft paw steps caught the Scout's attention quickly. Kisla's pack had been around before she had left Oak Tree Bend, so it came as no surprise to Jessie that she was being greeted so soon. Emerald orbs locked with unfamiliar yellow-green eyes. Drestig had informed her of Maksim's passing and the Tainn widow could understand the toll it had on Kisla. This man was a stranger to her and she did not know if he would even recognize her name. Already, she was at a disadvantage. While his tone was not unfriendly, the frown on his maw almost promised that this meeting would not go well for her. Parting her lips, to respond, she was cut off when Lilya joined them at the borders. A small smile twitched at the corners of the gray woman's mouth, dipping her head in greeting to the other woman as she said her piece.

It had not been all that long ago when the woman had stumbled upon her borders and now Jessie was grateful she had. Maybe this won't be so bad. She looked back at the male, her name already given by Lilya. Her voice held it's business-like tone that it usually did when she was on her scouting trips, "We could be better. We've been having some trouble with our neighbors, Whitestone Monadnock, which is why I'm here, actually." Her tail swept neutrally behind her, not wanting to cause any trouble. While she did want to inquire about Kisla's well-being, she felt as if doing so in front of this new male would be a mistake, and so she continued on. "My mate and I recently held a meeting with them and we are not on the best of terms. We've had quite of few run-ins with them out on the Lowlands that have not been the best and I felt it would be best to inform other packs." Her gaze swept between the male and Lilya, not wanting to seem overly rude. Of course, the only reason she had thought to visit Hearthwood River and to give them a word of warning was because Kisla remained and she was family to Jessie. She would have to make up for what she was dealt with though because she knew that the only way Wild Rye Fields was going to get through this is if they had her friends and family by her side.

Lachesis "XIX" Stark

As the blue-eyed sparrow sidled up beside him Lachesis offered her a warm smile in greeting before he returned his attention back to the black and white wolf, his expression painted with curiosity. He had nearly forgotten that Lilya had a history with the green-eyed wolf standing before them until the sparrow greeted their visitor, her words dripping with warmth. His frown was immediately replaced by a small smile as he allowed his gaze to refocus on Jessie as she responded to his co-lead’s question, announcing that their pack was not getting along with their northern neighbours. The ghost was not surprised—Craw’s group on the rock were certainly an intimidating bunch, especially with their numbers continuing to grow. He had been quick to make an alliance with the Whitestone wolves, for he reckoned they were not a pack to get on the wrong side of.

Unfortunately for Jessie and her mate, it appeared that they had gotten on that side. His lips twitched in empathy as the monochrome wolf began explaining the reason behind her visit. “I am sorry to hear that,” Lachesis responded after a brief pause, his tail giving a slow wag behind him. “Thank you for coming to tell us,” he added with a soft nod. They were lucky (so far) not to have any bad encounters with Whitestone wolves, but it appeared the Rye wolves were not as fortunate. He knew that Craw was not fond of their newest members, and had mentioned his disdain toward the pack in their last meeting.

Lachesis had been wary of the new pack prior to their claiming of the fields west. The expanse had been their haven after being forced to vacate their home among the cedars; he did not want to be chased out by another pack. The river wolves had already gone through so much. “Is there anything we can do?” He offered, muzzle canted as he studied the older female. Both the sparrow at his side and the tawny Baranski were fond of Jessie and her mate; there was no reason why Lachesis shouldn’t be, too.
