Laike Artemieva
For @Salix <3

Laike was already tired of this place but decided to give it another day before heading out. If that bratty princess was the worst this place had to offer than he thought he would be okay. Not to mention he didn't have anywhere, in particular, to go so what did it matter if he just hung about like a bug?

His large form practically glided about the area with nothing in mind. He should probably hunt or even consider looking for somewhere more permanent but nothing had exactly struck an interest in him yet. He hadn't even made a solid plan to follow yet. Did he really want to settle down? Or was he only doing it to merely make it by? A loud sigh escaped his mouth as he brushed against a large cedar wood to soothe an itch on his side. His mind briefly went to @Hecate and how she might be faring. Surely she was well, though. He didn't believe her to be some kind of weak, pushover type of female. Maybe she was even out there being wooed by someone. Laike kept reminding himself it wasn't his business but that didn't seem to stop him from thinking about it.

@Laike

He didn't mind staying in the forest that much.
It was a nice change of pace from the North. The snow was a burden in an open area, and
it was pleasant to at least have partial shelter from it due to the cedars. Salix had recently refreshed
himself at a stream. For once his mouth didn't feel so cracked and dried that his tongue was to
shrivel and fall right out. The scent of the cedars were inviting to him; it was an
odor he wasn't exactly used to. The main was born and raised on plains, not knowing much
of the secrets that the forest had hidden away.

His lids droop a bit, and he stops momentarily for a rest. He felt like an old man and it pissed him
off to no end. Once the spring had fully arrived, though, he was confident he would be good as
new. This winter felt like someone had taken a rock and smacked him in the face with it
multiple times. After his brief rest, he rises from the base of a well aged tree. Continuing
on, yet again. He needed to gather info of the packs in the area. Patience was begging to
bite him in the rump, convincing him to just join the first pack he came across.

Time would tell what was to happen.

Nothing came to mind from his thoughts. His brain kept drawing blank after blank. Well, perhaps not blanks but they were certainly useless ideas. He wondered if he stopped trying to force ideas if a good one would come to mind. So he took a few deep breaths to rid his head of the congestion. "Simply focus on the now and here."

He moved about without much grace, no concern for where he put his paws or how much noise he made. That was until he thought he saw something up ahead. Maybe it would be some prey, he could use a decent meal. It didn't take too long for him to realize this wasn't a beast he could hunt. The creature was one of his own kind and a sigh left his lips.

"Hey." He called out to the male with his deep tones. "Do you by chance know places for a fella to have a hunt around here?" He moved closer so the stranger could hear him better. Laike also didn't want to give off the idea that he was some kind of bad guy who lurked in the shadows. The large male saw himself as the complete opposite, truthfully.

He hadn't gone far after his meeting with Nauja. He
told her he wanted to be out of her fur, that was true. Yet at the same time, he wished he
still had company. He was a bit sleepy; his mind was in a fog. The wolf felt almost as if he
were in a dream. As he pads along steadily, he daydreams of the summer time and how plentiful
food would be by then. He would be back to a normal weight. Finding a pack was the thought
constantly biting at the back of his mind.

A sudden voice causes Salix's fur to prick up for a second. He turns, not sharply but in a slackly manner,
his foggy brain slowing his need to move quickly. "Mmm?" He sounds, nostrils flaring as
his eyes catch the frame of the wolf that nears him. Salix appreciated that the wolf approached
rather than creeping behind the cedars. His head raises as a light grimace spreads across his
face. "Hell, I've been wonderin' the same" he snorts, almost releasing a chortle as his
muzzle points to his slightly thinned body. He did have the rabbit hunt with Nauja, but that
was more so a waste of energy.

Salix's tail remains low; he had no desire to show any sort of aggression to the inquiring man.
In fact, a fight would be the very last thing he wanted right now. Not being at full health
or weight, he knew quite well that a fight would result in a dance with death.

Laike Artemieva
Laike was pleased when there was no display of teeth or waving tails. Instead, he got a kind gesture of a shared struggle. A small smirk tugged on his face as he noticed that the loner was a little thin too. "You think anything worthwhile might be around? We could probably work together and split the earning." It was a shot in the dark but was there much else for a fellow loner to offer? Laike couldn't offer protection or shelter so a shot for them to both leave with partially fuller stomachs seemed like the best thing.

His nose sniffed about in hopes of finding something. Maybe they would get lucky and find a stray deer. He kept his hopes for that low, though. They likely had a better chance at finding a rabbit or bird nest. He slowly trailed around the cedar woods. "You down for a little tracking and hunt?" His head turned around as his fiery eyes looked towards the gray male. With the stranger's long legs and Laike's bulk they certainly wouldn't have the worst chance. Laike thought that the only real risk was that if the hunt was unsuccessful or they didn't cross paths with anything it was a waste of needed energy. He had high hopes, though.

Another hunt? Salix almost wrinkles his
nose out of skepticism. He pauses for a moment, calculating gaze upon the wolf near him. Well,
his hunt with Nauja hadn't been exactly fulfilling, but that shouldn't be a determinant of
what could happen now. The wolf watches as Laike sniffs about and attempts to pick up a scent.
If they were going to hunt, Salix didn't want to go chasing after some rabbit again. He needed something
more. He turns to speak-

"Yeh..." he says in a gruff tone, "S'long as we be huntin' bigger than a rabbit." His icy
eyes peer over at the other man. He lowers his head toward the ground now, bringing his gaze
forward once more. No lead so far. The desire for food again began to stir within him. He craved
something that would suffice for wherever he decided to go next. The steps that the long-legged
one took slowly started to become quicker in pace. Annoyance began to slowly set in as he sniffed
with a stern look upon his face. Odors began to flood his nose after a bit. An old scent of rabbit
here...one of a raccoon- where was the good stuff?
