He had always been emotional. So when Maera agreed for their child to take his last name and she take it too soft sobs took over him. Of course, it was all from happiness and love. He returned her kisses eagerly when she lifted his head up. All he wanted to do was protect and embrace the two most important females in his life. So that's what he would vow to do. He had protected (and been protected by) Maera since the beginning and now he had the true pleasure of getting to protect her and Little Lacey.
His nose gently ran over the small fluffball, also known as his daughter. He couldn't stop the smiles and warming of his face as she gave a few protesting sounds. "Okay okay, little one. I'll let you feed and rest." He pulled back hand settled his head on Maera's neck. The new father had no want to disrupt Lacey. He wanted her transition from the womb to the world to be as smooth as possible. It was lucky that it had already gone so smooth. There were no stillborns like the elders had told him of or even complications in the actual birthing process.
"You should get some sleep. You did good but that couldn't have been easy." He smiled softly and nuzzled into her scruff. Kerberos would never understand the pain of birthing but from what he had just seen it was no walk through the Wildwood.
