His chuckle was pleasing as he joked with her. He affirmed that he indeed wanted to know these things about her, which made her feel even more light and jubilant. His gaze left hers as he turned to look out past them and out towards the dark horizon. He then mentioned that he would like to see the Rye, up close. Smiling then, she turned her gaze onto him, ”I'd love that. You will love it, especially when the rye grows in. Might make ya wanna stay its so beautiful?” Chuckling lightly, she bumped her shoulder against his lightly in pure fun.
As she went on, she didn't see the frown that etched across his face or the fact she may have been making him uncomfortable. Ade was sometimes oblivious to the feelings of others when she spoke or acted. And again, as she spoke about all the ones she loved were only in the Rye, she was blind to the feelings Laike may had been having. If he was upset or uncomfortable, he never mentioned it. Instead, he was silent and so she continued on.
As their gaze connected, a smirk formed on his ebony lips as she waited for a response. Telling her she should give herself more credit, she chuckled with him as his gaze lingered as he continued. Her gaze softening at his following comment. He was right, honestly. Who would come back if they were not interested in knowing more about her? “I'm glad you came,” she murmured as she moved closer to him with the cold breeze wiping across the barren lands.
