The snake incident had nearly given the new mother a heart attack. She blamed herself for if she hadn't have left then it wouldn't have ever gone in the den. It was the same blame she placed on herself for if she hadn't ever left the cove she'd have her other two babies running around within the den as well. But what had happened had happened and no matter how much she wanted to change it Moon knew she couldn't. So she did her best to give all her focus and love to her surviving son. He was growing so quickly that the dark woman could hardly keep up. She knew though that she couldn't keep him within the den for forever so with a deep breath she made up her mind. Today would be the day the cove wolves meet their newest addition.

Her mercury gaze watched as her pup ran about chasing his own tail. Oh how she wished his siblings were here...a sad smile formed on her maw at the thought. With a quick shake of her head she cast it aside and focused on introducing her bundle of joy to the outside world for the first time. "Oh Chan darlin' would you like to go outside?" She asked as she nosed his russet brown side to get his attention. Once he was focused on her she exited the den and let out a howl for her pack mates. "Those who would like to meet Chan are more than welcome to now". She wouldn't pressure anyone into meeting him for she wanted him to be loved by all. Once her call finished she laid herself so she was facing the den entrance. She placed her raven colored head upon her forelimbs and waited for her son to emerge from the den.

He had his head in the lake almost up to his ears when the call from Moonshadow went up and as it did he lifted his head to listen.  He'd been fishing all morning, or at least pretending to do so which was why he didn't have anything to show for his efforts.  It seemed she was bringing Chan out of the den on that particular day which seemed about right.  Namid's pups were about the same age as Chan was now when they'd been introduced to the pack the previous year.  Kajika hadn't seen his godson since the day he was born not wanting to overstep his bounds with Moonshadow and Tagg.  He was eager to see how much he'd grown since the last time he'd seen the little tuft of fur.

Quickly he made his way out of the lake and giving his waterlogged body a shake at the shore he took off toward Moonshadow's den.  He hoped that he wouldn't miss a moment of the pups first time out in the world.  It was a perfect day for it too with the sun having come out to warm his dark pelt which the lake had helped to cool off.  He soon reached the clearing in front of the den and found Moonshadow laying with her head on her forelimbs.  A smile crossed his features as he approached her, “Big day for you and Chan,” he said as he placed a lick to her crown in greeting.  “Are we waiting for the man of the hour to make his appearance?” Kajika said as he moved to give the pup some space when he finally did come out to play and meet everyone alongside Namid.

The young boy of brown was spending his time doing what every pup seemed to do. Eat, sleep, play, chew on mama's ears or tail when bored, the sleep and eat some more.  Honestly, he had a great time in the warm cozy den. And the there was the incident with the scary, rattling, hissing, wiggling thingy. He had been terrified when the commotion had started and understood by the heavy scent of fear that the creature was a reason for fear. Ever since he been scared fo nearing the entrance, set the rattle monster would be back.

But so far the monster had no comeback and mama had kept him safe, fed and warm in his den. Though sometimes when mama was left along her face changed, it became wired. She looked so different when she looked like that, and he did not like it. He wanted his mama to look happy.

He had been busy chasing the odd wiggler behind him, which apparently was a tail. When she tried tog et his attention. The movement was greeted with small barks and a few licks to her mussel.  Though soon replaced by an odd questioning gaze. Outside? as where the Rattle monster had come from? But apparently, mama though it to be a good idea as she left the den.

For minutes he just stood there looking after her, waiting for her to come back inside where it was safe from rattle monsters. But soon curiosity pawed at him and carefully, very carefully, he made his way up the tunnel. Though as he reached the top and carefully peeked his head out light flooded his vision. And for a moment he yelped and pulled back inside. Into the dark comforting safeness. Though he could smell mama, she was right out there and so was someone ells? Once again he made his way out this time ready for the light as he peeked out into the big world above.

Big puppy blue eyes looked around and mouth went open as he looked at the big world with wonder. Eye's feel on his mama as he finally fully left the den allowing the soft green grass to touch his paws. He giggled in surprise and nuzzled his muzzle through it before losing balance and tumbling over onto his back. This stuff was fun, and soft almost like mama's fur. He looked up, the world not upside down, he barked at the stranger whom mama seemed to fine with binge near so he had to be okay.

OOC! Out of character comments here

Her question was met with a questioning gaze from her bundle of joy. She could understand his not wanting to go out given the snake incident a few days ago but she felt like he needed to start exploring the world. She exited the den and called for her pack mates. It wasn't long before the dark form of her teacher came into sight. His presence caused her silver dusted tail to wag behind her sweeping underneath it. Lifting her head the dark woman returned his greeting with a lick to his chin. A small chuckle fell from her maw as @Kajika asked if they were waiting on Chan. "That we are. Seems as if he prefers the den." She spoke with a smile on her maw. Just then a little brown head poked out from the den entrance but quickly retreated with a yelp. Another chuckle fell from Moons inky lips as she got up and moved closer to the mouth of the den. "Its alright dear nothin's gonna get you" she cooed hoping to coax the boy back out.

Her efforts were rewarded for Chan's little head poked back out into the world. Silver eyes watched puppy blue widen in wonder as he fully exited the den for the first time in his life. Pride filled the woman but was quickly darkened. Her mind drifted to that of her other two children and wondered how they'd react to the world...Not wanting to miss this joyous occasion the dark beta tore her gaze from her son and let it fall upon his god father. Her gaze was filled with pride but if he looked closely enough he could see the underlying sadness. The sounds of giggles brought her attention back to the waddling pup. It seemed like the grass was the first to capture his interest. A warm smile adorned her lips as she watched her baby nuzzle the grass before toppling over. Part if her wanted to jump and make sure he was alright but something kept her rooted in her spot and told her he was fine. And sure enough just as quickly as he toppled over did he get back up. This time his attention was on Kajika. He let out the cutest little bark at the man. "Chan this is Kajika. Your godfather." She explained giving the boys head a comforting lick. She knew soon enough Chan would come to love the man just as she had.

In the midst of everything that had happened in his life Chan had been born and he'd been named godfather of the pup. There wasn't any way he was going to miss his godson’s first steps into the world. So he made it to the densite in record time, or at least he felt it was record time. Moonshadow was outside he assumed waiting on the boy to finally decide to come out and join them. “This is all new to him so I suppose we can't really blame him for being hesitant.” Though Kajika thought it might also have to do with the incident the other day. Moonshadow once again reassured him that it was safe for him to come out and see the world.

This time it was only a moment before Chan's brown head appeared at the mouth of the den but disappeared just as quickly. Something seemed to have spooked him as they heard a yelp. Chan didn't seem to want to give up as once again he was at the mouth if the den and this time his whole body followed. Kajika watched with his friend as her son nuzzled the grass with his muzzle. Then it was if he'd notice Kajika for the first time as he let out a bark right at the dark beta. Moonshadow assured him about Kajika letting the boy know the dark man was his godfather. The beta lowered himself into his stomach thinking it might calm the pup. “Hello Chan, it's nice to finally meet you,” He offered with a smile.

Had Tagg realized what day it was, he wouldn’t have strayed too far from the den.  He’d wanted to be there for his son’s first steps out of the den – especially after the snake incident – but hunger had driven him to search the caches. He’d selected a squirrel for himself and a small hare for Moon, should she be hungry.  As he neared the den, he heard voices – and a tiny puppy bark.

The father trotted into view of the den, heart fluttering as he saw his family at the entrance, Kajika lowered to his belly to greet him.  Namid stood off to the side, smiling. His heart dropped.  I… I missed it.

He tried to hide his disappointment.  This was a big moment, after all, and he didn’t want to be a downer. The veteran moved to his mate’s side, dropping the food by the den before greeting her and offering a small lick of affection to Chan. He sat next to Moon, unable to help beaming proudly at his progeny.  After everything, he had survived. Chan would be just the same – a survivor.  He’d already proved it twice over. “How do you like the world? He asked Chan gently. “It may seem big now, but you’ll grow into it.”

He could remember his first steps outside with his sister.  Their eyes had been wide with wonder at the vastness of the world around them, but by evening they had been racing around the den causing no end of trouble for their parents.

The pup cared little for the adults talk or thought he was filled with wonder, excitement and much more for this new and bigger world. And the soft green stuff. Rolling back to his feet as his mama explained who the dark man was the pup looked at the man with a tilted head and wonder in his eyes. That could not be he knew his father was not this one. So how could he be his father too? But he had two fathers? No that was not what Mama had called him. GodFather, was that something special? None the least the man lover himself down as the pup greeted him with small barks, he was lucky was he not to have another father a godfather.

The pup tried mimicking the dark man, low on his belly and tail swishing back and forth behind him. Though eh barely got down onto the grass before a well-known wolf came to out to greet them.

Chan sprang to his leg almost losing his balance and tumbling back down as he moved to were his father had sat down beside mama. The man's kiss was returned with a puppy nuzzling the man for a moment before pulling back away to listen to his father words.

Yes, thew world truly seemed big and so far it was only the den and the small area around it. The pup soon moved around to explore this small part around him some more. Head tilting back to look up at the trees and the blue sky. He barked lightly as a bird swooshed ver head trying to jump but ended up back on the ground on his belly rather than his legs. A small huff from his puppy lips as he looked around again.

Any sadness that swirled within the dark woman were momentarily calmed by the bundle of joy in front of her. The way he tried to mimic Kajika was just too adorable for any darkness to overshadow. Silver dusted ears flicked at the sound of another approaching. His familiar scent washed over her long before he appeared. Her dark banner picked up speed as his handsome russet form came into view. He was carrying a squirrel and a rabbit in between his cream colored jaws. She could clearly see the disappointment in his eye, despite his effort to hide it. As he came closer she adorned his muzzle and face with kisses. It was alright there would be plenty of other firsts.

Giving her husband one last kiss she turned her attention once more to her son. He was clearly happy to see the russet man. Their exchange filled her heart with warmth. It was a big world indeed and she would make sure that Chan wouldn't walk it alone. The brown boy moved again to explore when a bird flew over the group. Silver gaze looked up to watch it fly before moving back to the boy. He jumped and ended up landing on his belly with a huff. A small chuckle fell from her dark maw and she moved to nudge him back up. "That was a bird darlin'." She told him not knowing if he understood but figured it was never to early to learn.

After lowering himself and greeting Chan with a smile his tail sweeping the ground behind him as he happily watched Chan. He was even more delighted when the child tried mimicking him and he would have kept the game going had another not arrived. Kajika's head turned to see that it was Tagg who had entered the clearing in front of the den. It was clear that he'd been hunting as ye carried his spoils between his jaws. Chan was happy to see his father and bounded over to him.

Then as Tagg came to stand beside Moonshadow Kajika took it as his cue to give the family some space. There would be time for him to get to know little Chan later so he rose to his feet. Giving a short nod he slipped away and took up a place on the edge of the clearing. There he would be able to observe Chan's adventure into the world and give the family their space.

Though ye doubted it he would also be nearby if he was needed or if Chan might want to continue their game. A glance went to Namid as he wondered where the rest of the pack might be, he didn't want them to miss the first steps into the new world of the only puppy in the cove.
