Zev
I'm looking to meet more wolves, come play with Zev :D

The sun rose slowly over the horizon and with the rising sun came the rising crescendo of the Magpie's song louder and louder. For reasons known only to the black and white birds they had gathered by the thousands. By the early morning the Magpie songs filled the air drowning out everything, so loud and disconcerting one could barely hear himself think.

A grin spilled across the brutes face, a welcome intrusion from his thoughts, Instead he took to action, so plentiful were the birds they were easy to catch. When one came to the ground many followed. A snap of his teeth ended the life of one and it was hardly a chore to catch more with some skill and a whole lot more determination by noon Zev had well over 50 birds, far more then any wolf could eat in one sitting. However that was not his plan; His plan would reveal it's self tonight under the moon.

In the mean time Zev chuckled almost chliched-ly evil as he continued his killing spree and making his tall pile of birds taller, from afar it might look like he was building a pyramid out of birds. His tail swayed back and forth as he leapt high into the air and snapped his teeth hard expecting to catch yet another easily, however this time he missed and he teeth clanged with such a thud his skull nearly rattled. With a growl he stared up at the escapee perched in a branch just out of his reach. The white and black bird cackled down at him seemly knowing it had escaped death and yet still sat on the cusp. Zev paced below the tree he didn't want just any magpie now, he wanted that one.

Aegir Sørenson

Aegir wasn't far from the Hollow's borders. He loved to explore, to gallantly go-where he assumed- no other wolf had gone before, but the bigs always told him not to wander too far, that it wasn't safe. He'd never had problems before, Aegir was big and brave, but more than that he was smart too. All of the bigs seemed distracted as of late, sad and glum. No matter how much he pranced about and tried to make them laugh it just didn't seem to do the trick. The Little Dragon didn't know what was wrong and no one had told him, so what was he supposed to do? Feel sad too?

Like that was going to happen.

Taking advantage of the pack's mourning, Aegir had crept from his Ma and Da's side and rushed off into the unexplored depths of the Cedarwood Forest. There were all sorts of things for him to see and sniff, but rather than take the time to investigate each and every bush, tree and leaf on the ground, his attention was grabbed by an almost deafening chorus of caws and screeches.

What was that?! Aegir stumbled to a stop and turned his head this way and that as he tried to pin-point where the sound was coming from. His little pointed ears told him it was coming from high up, in the trees. So birds then? But what sort and how many? Squinting in thought, Aegir toddled along, determined to find out just why these birds were making such a racket when he was trying to explore.

It didn't take the Little Dragon long to find out the source of the noise.

Aegir had never seen so many black and white birds before, nor had he ever smelled so much blood! The air was heavy with its coppery tint and the floor was littered with feathers and bodies. It was a massacre and yet Aegir saw it as anything but. In his eyes he'd stumbled upon a jackpot, the perfect pile of playthings. And once he was done maybe he could snack, or better yet bring them all home to show to his Ma and Da! Wouldn't they be so proud of him?

With that in mind, Aegir charged into the glen and flung himself into the pile of feathers and dead birds. Of course, his sharp eyes had noticed the stranger with the blood stained muzzle but he was of little interest to the little dragon. The same couldn't be said for his collection of magpies. They were his now, his dragon hoard and no one could take them.

sorry I thought that the spirit of wildwood was the responder to this thread I had not noticed yours, I'm still new to this forum layout

The brute barely noticed the pup while all his attention was focused on his prize. He could not let it go, he needed that particular magpie and even the threat of loosing all his other hard work did not occur to him. He snarled up at the cackling bird and spit at it, still is laughed and taunted him hoping to a higher branch ever so casually. Zev stood on his hind legs and clawed at the bark of the tree still unable to reach the lowest branch and even if he could he was no cat, he could not climb. This too, did not occur to him as he focused on the bird. He jumped down and circled the tree gaining some distance before charging the tree and leaping with all his might. He managed to grab the branch and 4 of the offending bird's tail feathers, There he hung by this teeth and the power of his jaw as the bird took off screaming into the tree tops amongst it's thousand's of brethren.

Zev opened his mouth and dropped hard on his rump and back unable to hold his weight suspended by his teeth anymore. He roared in frustration and paced below the canopy trying to spot this particular magpie without success.

With a snarl his mood went south he stomped his way back to his pyramid of poultry only to find it disheveled. Zev bared his teeth and his hackles raised, perhaps he had lured something else in, something else he could offer to his gods.

His hackles settled down and he smirked, it was much easier to con a potential sacrifice rather then have to waste physical effort taking them down. With a half smirk and a smile on his face Zev crooned Come out, come out where ever you are

Aegir was not stupid. The stranger could dangle soft cooing words in his face as much as he wanted, the Little Dragon wasn't going to fall for it. He had too much of his Father in him. His wit, his cunning and his suspicious nature, Aegir had it all. This treasure trove of bloodied magpies was now his and Aegir didn't care if the stranger had made the effort to catch them all. Perhaps he being a spoilt brat, -after all, he was being a lone child- but in his eyes this stranger was in his home, his woods  and so he had play by his rules.

His lips pulled back into a puppish snarl and his eyes narrowed in contempt, as he remained hidden and out of sight beneath the still warm  wings and feathers.

"Nah, s'mine! Goes'away!"

Aegir would always like his Ma best-his Da close second- but the other wolves he saw, the ones that smelled like home, were okay. But this one? Aegir did not like. Not one bit. In fact, he hated him even more than that dark one, his Ma's coosin. This one was the worst of them all. The Little Dragon wanted him still and leaking red like the birds he was surrounded by. He just didn't know how to make that happen. Yet.

"Go, er'else!"

Zev
Zev licked his lips, he could almost taste the salty blood of the youngling, So much more satisfying then the minute blood of the birds he had ravaged. Blood was something his gods demanded, blood was gift not to be wasted and he'd have to teach this whelp or the whelp would have to die learning. Either way would serve the ultimate purpose and goal in his endgame.

Zev was in a mood today, he decided he'd welcome trouble, not that the tiny wolf could do much damage to this oversized brute. Rev's hide was littered with scars that proved he cared very little about his body or the damage caused to it, for he could always find herbs and ways to heal himself, a gift he supposed that came from the very beings he so diligently served.

mmMMMmm I suppose you mean to tell me you took these souls all for yourself then? Because they only belong to you if you have taken the very soul from their body; By that right, You'd own that soul until you chose to release it..... He let his words trail off he had more information to give, but only if the pup wanted it, he was tired of talking to deaf ears

Zev grinned wickedly, he felt them, all of them, each soul of each bird he had killed this day, and soon he'd offer these souls away before be partook in the bodies the gods had no interest in.

Zev began to pick up each bird one by one, taking two steps to the back and two to the right, then carefully set each body down to create another neat pile, a pyramid of bird bodies.

The Brute himself carried an unkempt stench, today it was not so bad since he hadn't found anything to roll in, during the last week, even so, his thick pelt was littered in matts and all kinds of blood and debris. He was a stark difference to the very neat stack of birds he was recreating now. This was the way about him though, he may not have cared about his own body or pelt, for neither did his gods, but he did care about 'things' and rituals, performing each ritual flawlessly was his ultimate goal, he would strive for perfection in his actions if not anything else.

Soon he had removed the birds that had covered the young wolf, but even then Zev did not stop moving the birds about just so. For the most part ignoring the boy, waiting while he worked, for the pup's response.

Aegir Sørenson

Aegir was losing his patience. If he was going to waste his breath and speak then he should have at least said words that made sense. Sools? What the hell was a sool? And why wouldn't he be quiet?

Being around his mute Mother, the Little Dragon had-rather than being frustrated by it- developed a fondness for quiet moments. He liked to talk and to entertain his parents, but actions spoke louder than words. His Ma could never say that she loved him, but he knew. She made it plain and clear like the bright light in the sky. But this one? His words may have been sickly sweet, but even the little pup could sense something was amiss. That he was coddling him, looking down on him like he was one of those squiggly pink things that came out after the rain.

For the hundredth-no thousandth- time Aegir wished he was big and strong like his Da. Then he would have taught this weirdo a lesson. You don't mess with a dragon. That wasn't to say his size was going to stop him, Aegir was nothing if not determined, but it did make him pause as he eyed the massive stranger from the safety of his pile.

He was big, a lot bigger than his Da.

The stranger came closer and closer and then, worst of all he started tearing down his mound, his hiding place. If this stranger thought Aegir would abandon his prize so easily then he was mistaken. Aegir would fight, even though-realistically- there was no chance that he could win.

Growling, the Little Dragon bided his time, waiting for the moment to strike. Only when the two of them were face to face, noses mere inches away from each other did he spring into action. With a puppyish snarl, Aegir jumped forward and snapped at the shiny black nose before him. There, this would show him!

Ugh, sorry I thought I had posted a reply to this….. I guess I may have hit preview post instead of Post?
About Monday my MAC crashed I had to reinstall the whole operating system, what a pain that was

And sorry this one is short I just got my computer up and running and went to look for your response only to find mine not here >.<

The Pup whom was so vocal before was now silent, Zev took that as the youngling was listening, perhaps this pup could be taught. At least that’s what he thought until the little beast grabbed his face. Zev bared his teeth and growled but he barely shook his head as he lifted the next bird up, with the Pup hanging from his face and continued to put them in the new pile.

The pup was nothing to the brute but extra added weight. However Zev’s flesh tore under the nettle sharp teeth of the youngling even that could not stop Zev from completing his task at paw.
Blood leaked down his muzzle and mixed with that of the birds blood upon the ground, but Zev continued his task whether or not the pup held on.

The brute bared his slightly brownish canines and the air was filled with his constant growl, As he continued to pile his birds until the last one rested on the top of the pyramid.

Now Zev was angry… The task completed; he could now begin to think of other things. He shook himself hard, if the pup was still hanging on he wouldn’t be for long. The brutes hair stood on end, his eyes widened as he stared at the young wolf but finally his constant growl silenced.

Are we trading blood for blood?
Zev teeth remained bared, he fully expected the pup to run, and if it did he’d give chase. His blood must be paid for, for it belonged to the gods not some wild thieving pup.

Pip Mizuno-Sørenson
Pip has enlisted the help of @Oula, @Oisin, and @Amaryllis to look for @Aegir. You all are free to join in the thread or not, but wanted to tag you so you had the opportunity! <3 Pip has stumbled upon @Zev and seen the risk to her son. As such, she has thrown herself at him with the intent of biting his neck.

All her life, Pip had been prone to anxiety, but never in her life had she felt such panic. The little mute had grown used to allowing her son out of sight - it was good for his development, she thought - but usually he was much easier to locate when she felt too much time had passed. But she had been searching for far too long now and her chirps of concern went unanswered.

Possibly sensing her worry, the other females of the pack had begun looking for her wayward pup as well. Pip couldn't be more grateful that Oula, Oisin, and Amaryllis didn't need lengthy explanations to understand what she needed in that moment. They split to cover more ground, but without them at her side, Pip felt hysteria building. What if he hurt himself? What if he wasn't just hurt, but dead? What if he fell and broke his neck and what if she had to bury her last pup? What if the pack had to survive another young death?

She wasn't usually prone to such pessimistic thoughts anymore and shook her head forcefully. No. She would not think like that. She would find him and she would...she would nip his little tail for making her worry so! Pip nodded with a frown, satisfied with the decision. As much as the female felt guilty for disciplining him, in this situation it was absolutely called for.

Hearing the growls of a stranger, Pip's blood froze. A stranger so close to the borders? The only thing they could possibly be growling about would of course be her son! While she battled down the fear, Pip hurried forward with the intention of humbly asking forgiveness for whatever sleight Aegir offered the male. But as she pushed through the dense foliage, what she saw had a different emotion clicking in place entirely.

Once when Veho and Oula's litter were young, a moose in rut had tried attacking young Felix. At that time, an instinct to protect had driven Pip forward in a rare show of courage as she grabbed the bull's face with little fear for her own life. She felt that same thing now, only much, much darker. Not only did she need to protect her son, but she needed to hurt the wolf who would dare threaten his life.

The little sea wolf darted forward, jaws open wide in fury. While no snarl could escape that would match the look on her face, a sharp squeak - evidence of just how angry she was - managed to escape her open mouth. She bore down upon the stranger with the ferocity of a territorial, possessive Grizzly while her jaws aimed to clamp down hard along the stranger's bared neck.

Give me back my son, demon!

Aegir was no coward. He wasn't going to run, nor would he cower and whimper for forgiveness. He was a dragon, such things were beneath him. This stranger was near his home, he didn't belong here and so with that in mind he really should have cut his losses and left the scene. But of course not, the beast merely snarled at him as a dark look lingered in his pale blue eyes.

One moment it had just been the two of them, then the next his Ma-with no worry for her own well being- charged into the scene with all the fury of a raging bear.

Honestly, Aegir was shocked beyond belief. In fact, all he could do was stand and stare as his Mother launched herself at the fiend with teeth bared.

The Ma he knew was kind and loving. The worst thing she'd ever done was given his tail a nip when Aegir had been misbehaving. But this, in that moment she seemed more like Da than she did herself. It was then Aegir realised that just because she was small it didn't mean she was any less mighty or brave. His Ma was...really really cool! A whole lot more than he thought was even possible!

Using the diversion his Mother so wonderfully provided, Aegir slipped away from the pile of dead birds and instead sat down at a safe distance to watch the event unfold. What would his Ma do next? Would she bite him, making him bleed so he knew not to mess with a dragon?
