She let out what could only be described as a mix between a chuff and a snort when he suggested making the den into a super den to keep their daughters contained while nipping at her shoulder. Yes, because that would totally happen once those girls grew older… Lilya hadn’t always worried like this – she’d been the adventurous type… until he’d gotten her sister Lia killed. And now? She wouldn’t even think about disobeying an order to stay someplace if it was for a good reason… not that there was any guarantee their daughters would listen like she might have done to save a life once upon a time.

The key to their growth, much like hers had been, was the environment they were being raised in. She knew this, and she cared about it. They were already in a much better boat than she’d been. Lachesis was right though, there were plenty of others for them to get into trouble with. “As long as th’trouble is in th’territory, an’ not outside, Ah think Ah can manage with stalkin’ them from a distance.” She quickly fired back. The idea of them leaving the safety of the River haunted her and crept into her worries and nightmares.

Lachesis "XIX" Stark
fade with your next post and we can have new thread?!!?!?! <3 @Lilya

He offered her a wide, cheeky grin at her amused reaction. The sparrow had not completely objected to the idea which meant that it was still a possibility. He could work with that. Truthfully he did not like the idea of having separate dens but they weren’t mates so there was no reason for them to share a den all the time. Just when he got lonely. Or she did. Or he just wanted them to be together, as a family.

(Which was all the time.)

The idea of the girls wandering outside Hearthwood territory did not sit well with the Stark either. He hummed his approval in response to his words, his cheek tucked against her side as his chartreuse stones fell to the bundles of fur between them. XIX knew it would be impossible to keep them within the confinements of Kingsfall but he liked to dream. His children had left him before—he did not want to go through the same thing with Lilliana and Lavender. There was too much abandonment in Lachesis’ history; the thought of the trend continuing made his heart hurt. “I think that sounds like a wonderful idea,” he mused absently before he pressed a quick lick to each cub, his tail curling tighter around his body as he enjoyed the rare moment between the unlikely family. Once the girls began to move around more and explore the realm of Hearthwood (and beyond) these moments would not come as often—if at all. He wanted to cherish them while he still could.

She couldn’t help but offer a soft smile in return to his comment, resting her head on the ground as he curled up to enjoy the presence of his daughters and wife while she was glad that he was there at all. She’d expect nothing less based off what she knew about him, about how he felt he had failed his children last year… but she knew that it wasn’t true. Lilliana and Lavender would love their father… Laddeus would have too, if things had been different… if she hadn’t been attacked by Mittani, perhaps he’d be there nestled next to his siblings.

She herself was simply enjoying the moment with a wide grin on her face, her gaze falling on her daughters as the sight of them nestled closely against her, resting for the most part, started to pull her into sleep. She was still recovering from the energy sapping process of giving birth, and all of the emotions that had closely followed it. “S’gonna be okay, Lachie.” She murmured as she started to drift off, a soft smile on her face. Surely with both of them being worrywarts, their daughters would not get the same traits. They will have gotten the recessive gene… she hoped…
