Adelayde Artemieva
Early afternoon, backdated to 7/29 few days after the pack meeting. For WRF pups @Sphinx @Chimera @griffin, but also open to other WRF members for some pack bonding! @Jessie @Askan @Reyes @Rosalind @Cottongrass @Neko @Aleksei

she says beauty is pain

Dutiful as ever, the beta had risen early again to set out to complete a run of the borders and perhaps she'd have enough time to scour the Lowlands for anything hardy to fest on. After patrolling the borders, Adelayde had escaped the pack lands in search of the herd of elk that seemed to still occupy the lowlands. However, the sizable female was unable to find the herd very easy with the ominous fog that hung over the lands with a heavy air that would not lift off her lungs. Turning back after a few hours wasted, the loyal second headed straight for the communal den where she hoped the cubs still stayed.

Reaching the mouth of the large dug out den, she sat on her hunches briefly as she cocked her ear sideways to listen. If the cubs were in there she was sure they'd be either snoring away taking an afternoon cat nap or being rowdy and loud. Humming to herself, she waited a few moments before she cooed out for the youngest generation that inhabited the rye fields. "Kidddddooooooossss, come come out wherever you are! Aunty Ade is here to play with you!" A bright smile crossed her lips as she waited patiently for them to answer her play call.

and there's beauty in everything

Sphinx Avalon
Whatever pleasant dreams Sphinx had been having during her afternoon siesta they were quickly whisked away as a familiar voice began to invade her slumber induced paradise, tiny lids flickering with their sleep riddled heaviness before lifting to reveal a tired pair of soft amber eyes. A tiny salmon pink tongue rolling out between parted jaws to expel a loud yawn until her young mind finally registered through the fog that one of the adults had actively sought out the trio of troublemakers; mostly her brothers, in order to initiate play.

Excitement made quick work of banishing any and all traces of sleep from the young Avalon as her body sprung up from its once laying position and bounded at lightning speeds for the communal den's entrance, uncaring where her oversized paws managed to step. Be it an ear or tail of her siblings or that of a slumbering adult. All her mind could comprehend in that moment was that play time was just on the horizon again and playing was always a good time. Next to exploring that is.

Emerging from the den, it took the young girl a couple seconds to adjust to the shift in light before her gaze lifted to focus on the face of Adelayde, the woman whom had led the pups through the scary weather when papa had called everyone together to discuss a bunch of adult stuff Sphinx had still yet to understand. A series of barks flitted off Sphinx's lips and her face glowed in glee, her upper body lowered as her paws slapped at the ground, clearly ready to begin their play date.

Askan Selwyn
{ooc} Tagging @Reyes

It was another one of those foggy days where nothing seemed real when he'd first woken up that morning. And maybe it was because he was so used to curling by Reyes side, that thing seemed amiss. The Southerner wasn't far, in fact they were still touching, but they hadn't fallen asleep this way so it seemed sort of dream like, Askan supposed. The more he thought about it though, the more he pinned the blame on this damn lingering fog. It was like something out of a bad dream. When he'd been making his rounds he'd half expected to see Savion emerge from the mist with a sadistic grin on his face.

He hadn't of course, but the weather had set the mood for the day. And the bar was pretty damn low.

Pushing along through the grass, Askan's ears twitched at the sound Adelayde's voice. Ah jeeze, couldn't she at least try and be quiet? Did she always have to yell at the top of her voice as though she wanted to the whole world to hear what she had to say?

He'd been approaching with the intent of scolding her but had ended up walking into Lil Bug instead. Whoops. Not that it was really his fault, she was low to the ground and it was a little hard to see, in this sea of grey.

"Ah damn it, you okay Little Lady?" He gave her an apologetic nose boop then turned his attention to Ade."What's all the fuss about? Do you really have to be so loud?"

His gripes were halfhearted. For all his grumpiness he wasn't going to take it out on either of them.

Neko Inali
It had not been that long since Neko noticed that the prairie crocus around the Fields was beginning to die off. She had immediately begun gathering what she could and cached it on hill close to where she would want to place the infirmary. She also gathered plenty of pineapple weed and mana grass as they were still plentiful. She had also cached a small supply of ergot, but then decided to cull the infected rye from within the pack boundaries and especially from areas where the pups tend to play. She wanted some for its medicinal value, but she believed it to be possessed and did want its demons affecting her new family, especially the pups. Really, it wouldn’t cause any harm as long as nobody ate the infected rye, but she didn’t want to take any chances. It wasn’t uncommon for pups (and sometimes adults) to eat things they shouldn’t.

Neko had spent most of the foggy morning gathering and caching pineapple weed and mana grass after clearing a small patch of ergot-infected rye from near the pond. She was returning to the main den to take a break before getting to work on the infirmary which she had discussed with the alphas after the pack meeting. As she neared the den, she heard Adelayde call out to the pups to play, and soon after heard Askan’s voice. She couldn’t tell whether his complaint was serious or in jest. She broke out into run, eager to join in on whatever fun was about to happen, but couldn’t see where she was going due to the fog. She found herself on a collision course with Sphinx. Not wanting to run into the pup, she veered off to one side and tried to stop. Instead, she slid across the wet ground skidded face first into Askan’s flank. “Whoops, Sorry,” she said, her ears pinned back against her head.
