The Little Dragon had seen all sorts of trees in his not so long life, but they'd never been this...droopy and sad. Why would anyone want to live here? Where it was dark-or at the very least very shady- even in the middle of the day? Monsters, that's who!

It made perfect sense to Aegir. His Da had told him all sorts of stories about things that lurked in the dark, but that he didn't have to be afraid because just like his Da he was a fierce dragon! Even after his run in with the creepy stranger Aegir was still a little too big for his boots. Maybe it was because he was an only child, that his Ma spoiled him so, but the way the Little Dragon saw it, he had no reason to fear. He was mighty, monsters were no match for him!

And so he plodded along with his head held high, his tail swishing behind him as he ignored-or rather didn't think to notice- the invisible border. He had't lived with the Hollow wolves for very long, in fact he'd spent very little time within their borders. So he wasn't entirely to blame here. To him, the borders had been a silent encouragement for him to venture out into the unknown. And who was he to deny such a tempting offer?

"I'm gon getcha!" He hadn't spotted any monsters yet, but they had to be around here somewhere. Listening. Watching. Waiting.

When he wasn't wrestling with his sisters or trying to keep up with their antics he was exploring their home. There were so many things to climb or chew on. So many things to smell even though most of the things within the Ridge's territory smelt familiar. Like how his parent's and cousin's scent seemed to make an invisible border. A border that he knew better than to cross over. It seemed that not even Addy or Elle crossed over the smelly line. Which was nice because Roman really didn't want to run after them past the marking. Who knew what was out there anyway. Probably scary things like monsters.

As he rounded around a willow tree something caught the piebald boy's eyes. Then there was a voice that followed the scene.

"I'm gon getcha!"

Romanov just had to see what was going on. This didn't sound like anyone he knew and with a few good sniffs, he could really tell it was someone. Unknown and unwelcomed. He bounded out from underneath a willow tree to stop in front of the dark boy's tracks. He lifted his tail like he'd seen his parents do oh-so-regally and widened his stance in order to get the boy to stop from going any further.

Aegir was looking for monsters. He didn't care what shape or size they were, anything would do. As long as he could slay the beast and return to his Ma and Da victorious, he would be content. What he wasn't looking for, however, was a wolf. A small one like him, but dark with a white paw and a weird patch over it's eye.

It held it's stubby tail high and glared at him with eyes that were similar to the Little Dragons. That little fact distracted him for a moment, but soon enough Aegir realised just what the stranger was trying to do. When his Da was mad, he stood like that too. All wide legged and flat eared. Well, Aegir would had laid his ears flat too but his silly left ear was having none of that and remained as floppy as ever.

He didn't know what his problem was, but Aegir had little interest in this one. Unless he wanted to be his side-kick that is...

"Git goin'. Lookin' for monstas." As weird as he looked, monster he was not. Aegir's little nose wrinkled as he took a step forward, a little curious now."You see any? Big, scary!" A sly grin pulled at the Little Dragon's lips. Maybe this could be fun. "M'Da said they wan eat pups like you...Not me, m'a dragon! But...S'dangeruz for yer."

He glanced around conspiratorially , his gaze lingering on the dangling branches. Like a monster was just going to part them and step through, like something out of a bad dream.

Roman had to admit he was a little surprise that the boy didn't just turn around and leave. The Archer boy had done his best to look big and strong in order to ward off the intruder. Instead the strange boy told him to get going. His mouth parted for a moment. Who was this kid, huh? Didn't he know where he was putting his nose into? Wilow Ridge!!

"No." He protested back as his amber eyes squinted at the unwelcome guest. "You're a pup too." His face wrinkled up along the bridge of his nose and forehead. Whatever a dragon was he really doubted this kid was one. Sounded pretty fake not to mention they looked alike and Roman knew he was a pup. But if they did look so alike and this kid was proclaiming to be a dragon did that mean he was possibly such a thing too? Maybe @Ravenna would know. She had been the one to share the story about The Gods of Old after all. Maybe they had something to do with this dragon nonsense.

"You can't be here. My home." He didn't say it snobby or even snarky. His voice was more hushed and filled with concern. If anything Roman was trying to help this kid out some because who knew what would happen if he bumped into one of the adults? Especially that grouchy Deron guy that had recently shown up.

His reaction was pretty funny actually. How he stared like a gawping fish struggling to breath out of water. The fact that he'd claimed that Aegir was a liar was a little less funny. In fact, it wasn't funny at all. Aegir wasn't smiling, not anymore.

"Naw I'm not! M'a dragon!" He paused for a moment and shot the stranger a suspicious squint."Yer callin' me a liar? You one uf them? That it?"He accused the pup, unable to understand why he was being so testy.

His Da had once told him not to trust everyone he met. Not everyone was good, like his Ma. Some folk were bad, like that big stranger. Was this guy a baddie too? Why was he being so rude and boring?

Aegir's right ear twitched when he stranger mentioned this was his home. That only made his suspicions grow. He willingly lived here, with monsters in his midst? He was either brave or very stupid. Aegir wasn't sure which, but he was inclined to think it was the latter. Considering how stubborn he was being..

"M'tryna help. Stop it! Why yer being so...so...Grrrrr!" He wasn't growling at the stranger, nor was it a particularly threatening sound. He was frustrated that the words weren't coming to him. That-even now- he didn't talk as well as his Da did.

Before Roman could attempt to really drive the point that he was not a dragon (not that he had an actual way to prove that) the floppy-eared boy started tossing questions at the Archer. His eyes went from squinted to wide. "You're not a liar." Maybe he was just a little confused was all. That didn't exactly make him a liar. "Don't think so." His face scrunched up in confusion. How did he know if he was a dragon? He had Gods inside of him according to Ravenna but nothing about a dragon.

The piebald boy's ears pulled back as the strange dragon boy told him to stop it. Stop what? He was trying to help! Amber eyes stayed glued to the stranger as he said he was trying to help. Well, none of this seemed very helpful really. Not to mention the sound that the kid was making didn't sound like a very happy sound.

Romanov's ears raised back up from his skull as he nodded to the kid. "Come on." He ushered carefully fully expecting the boy to follow if he knew what was good for him. Roman wouldn't be surprised if Deron was sleeping under one of the trees out here, ready to grouch at them. "I can help." Maybe that would be enough to get the message across that Roman wasn't some big bad or stupid monster living in the willows. It had never occurred that maybe Roman could lead him out the way they came in and there would be no fuss. No, no, no. They needed to be sneaky and backtracking simply wouldn't do.

Well, at least they were in agreement about that. That Aegir wasn't lying and that he really was a dragon, just like his Da said. He had no intentions of admitting it, but honestly Aegir was relieved the stranger wasn't in cahoots with the monsters, wherever or whatever they were. What sort of wolf would want to be friends with a monster? A weirdo that's who. That wasn't to say the Little Dragon was totally convinced of the stranger's normality, he just assumed he wasn't that far gone.

"Good." Aegir nodded, content to let it go for now.

Then all of a sudden the kid wanted to lead him somewhere. Intro a trap? Or was he really going to show him where the monsters lair was? Maybe he had been scared all along and was waiting, hoping for a hero to come along. Well, it was a good thing Aegir had arrived when he did! Who else could slay the beast but him? Sometimes you had to fight fire with fire, a big scary thing against another big scary thing. It made sense, after all his Da had chased that weird stranger away. He'd seen the method work with his own eyes.

"Huh? Where? To monsta's lair?" He asked, once they were in motion. The stranger was bigger than he was, even if only by a smidge. Maybe he would be helpful, if he actually played along.

It wasn't so hard was it, it wasn't like Aegir had asked him to bend over backwards. Though maybe that would have been preferable, after all this spotted wolf was at least a little strange.

That was that. The young Archer boy was as content ot drop the topic as was his age-mate company.

Romanov was rather pleased to sneak the fellow child out of his home without another word. They had to be silent and stealthy before someone caught them and Roman got in trouble. The thought of his mother or father scolding him caused a frown to etch across his face. His head turned back to eyeball the floppy-ear kid for a second before his head turned back around. "Uh huh." He hadn't said yes and hadn't said no, more of just a soft sound. Roman didn't wanna be a liar but he also didn't want this kid to keep stomping around his home looking for something that wasn't here. Monsters. Well, maybe Deron was a monster but the Archer boy was not in the mood to see that dark fella. He was weird and always grouchy.

He really didn't know just how close they were to freedom but it should be a good stretch. Maybe if they kept the chatter down to a minimum this would be over a lot quicker. His ear briefly fell back with a feeling of guilt. Just ushering out someone like this felt a bit wrong. The kid shouldn't be here, Romanov knew that much, but maybe an adult should know. Guests always called at the border, unlike this fella. But what would they do to the strange dragon? What would they do to him?

Aegir was getting suspicious. The splodge wolf was being awfully cagey, glancing this way and that as though he feared they were being followed. He pressed his lips into a thin line as he followed the Willow wolf as he weaved through the trees. He claimed there wasn't a dragon here, that Aegir had no reason to hunt anything here...And yet, why was he acting like this?He had to realise how it seemed, like he was worried something was close on their heels.

"'M not stupid." He grumbled, pouting and overall looking very put out."If yer don't wanna play, jus' say so."

He guessed he could go look for his Ma, or Kyri to play with but it wasn't exactly the same. He was happy with his family unit, but from time to time he wanted to be with kids his own age. Not very often mind you, he enjoyed solitude well enough, bit once in a blue moon he felt this way. And it felt pretty damn bad to know no one wanted to play with him.

Even if he had technically walked into their home.

"I'll go and look fer monsta's somewhere else if I hafta. Don't gotta lead me about like this. S'mean."

Maybe he thought he was trying to help, but it didn't feel that way. Didn't feel very nice at all.
