Though Kaela was one to hold a grudge, she was bored. This wasn’t even worth it. Nobody ever did anything, and though she was still angry, she just couldn’t find enough to occupy herself with while she waited. The best thing she could do to get her revenge – for now – was to leave the fire child as bored as she was. Stirring up trouble was going to stir up excitement. If they ever met again, Kaela would be sure to show her just who was boss, but for now this was the best she could do.
So it was, without looking back, that the monochrome girl crossed over the borders and headed north. Winter was on its way, and she wanted to greet it as early as possible. Why she ever thought it would be a good idea to take a break from her constant search of snow was beyond her. It was the only companion she’d ever needed, after all.
Kaela held her tail high and ears erect as she left the territory. No more groveling to less than worthy wolves, no more pretending to be weak and frightened. She was the queen and she would bow for nobody. It was time for her to return to her kingdom.
