There were many things to worry about in the coming months but having been through one winter in the mountain Kajika felt that they would be okay. Things had changed since the last winter but the wolves that we're in the pack had not changed much. They had worked well together last year and they would work well together this year. It would of course be his godson's first winter and being the proud godfather he was Kajika couldn’t wait to see how he reacted to it. The boy wasn't the first litter he'd seen go through winter in the mountain, the ones before had done well and Chan would to.
Greer shared that his mate was from the mountain which he saw as boding well for the heights pack. “Then she has some experience with winter in the mountain?” What the heights alpha said next struck Kajika causing him to nod in agreement. “No winter's aren't ever the same but having experience can be a big help I think.” At least he hoped that was the case, they could prepare for the worst case scenario and hope it wouldn't get that bad. Greer had spoken of being in the tundra which Kajika had been to so as he spoke again of the last winter term there the cove alpha could imagine it. “Winter was long here too. We worried it wouldn't ever end or that we might run out of food first. The trees helped a little though to break the wind a little.”
The next question had Kajika thinking back to when he had joined Fallen Tree Cove, he shook his head. “No, I have been here for two winter's and the last was the worst of them.” His first winter in the mountain wasn't too bad which he was thankful for as it allowed him to get his bearings in his new home.
