The young girl was completely ready to shower the dark males with attention but an all too familiar voice caused her body to swivel around. Tail whipping behind her, she released an energetic bark towards Plant Boy. Her orange gaze looking to Askan for his answer and when it was given she went to bump into her age mate.

"You're staying?" She asked in a loud whisper. This was gonna be great really. Having him around meant more nighttime adventures and maybe more creepy trips. The memory of the bone hill still sending chills down her spine.

Hawthorne's head turned to focus on Askan as he spoke. She had never seen two guys lead, for back home had one male and one female, but she didn't really see a big deal about it. They were together, or something like that, after all and that helped it makes sense for them to want to lead together. So she simply shrugged and looked around at everyone else.

The last of the pack, or so she thought, she bumped shoulders with the young Avalon. But, it seemed they had another one wanting to join. This was news, and her eyes came to rest on the boy. Their leader wasn't suprised in the least, and made him one of them. She had no qualms. She'd rather deal with youngsters than grabby elders any day. Already this was different, better. Besides, she had always thought Askan had a soft spot for the kids, and now she didn't doubt it.

The Selwyn did something different. He inquired if they had a problem with him and Reyes leading. She supposed that was wise. Get it out in the open if there was now instead of letting it stew and fester. But, looking around she didn't believe any one of them had a problem. They'd all followed them this far. But, Cotton was the first to speak up. Remi was quick to put in her agreement.

"Nope. I'm here because I trust you guys." To do what's best. What's right. To give a damn about the pack they lead.

The agouti had never felt more shy in his life—but he didn’t feel out of place. In the Vale, with the company of his parents and wolves he had known since birth, Sachiel had felt like an outsider. Like he didn’t belong. Here, it was the opposite. Even though he didn’t know half the wolves that were present Sachiel wasn’t worried. He watched as some of the wolves chased each other around, the corners of his eyes crinkling in amusement. Askan was quick to answer, welcoming Sachiel into their group without hesitation. A sigh of relief escaped him, his tense shoulders sagging as he became more relaxed.

At Pumpkin Eyes’ question he nodded, slowly, a small grin unfolding across his dark lips. I guesso, he cheesed, his voice low as he bumped her shoulder.

His focus returned to Askan as he spoke once more, addressing the group. Reyes. His gaze flitted over to the dark wolf at his side—his desaturated blue eyes and the faded pink scars on his snout. Sachiel had not met Sir Grumpsalot’s partner yet, but he had no quarrels with them leading together. Heck, he was just happy he had been welcomed to the group. He gave a sharp shake of his head to show he had no issues with it.

Remington finally caught her, the shove met with a playful snap of her teeth but then Askan spoke and she supposed she’d better listen if he was speaking. The suggestion that Reyes would lead beside him wasn’t surprising in the least but Phoenix wasn’t about to make this easy on them. She looked over Askan’s companion with narrowed eyes, an eerily familiar squint as she pursed her lips before speaking. ”I suppose he’ll do...” but then her face cracked with a wide smile and a wave of her tail, ”O’ course it’s fine, how is that even a question?” she shot back at Askan teasingly. Really, obviously he was Askan’s best friend, it only made sense.

Askan had already assumed that the others were okay with them leading, but shit it felt good to hear it, to know that they were all on board with this. That they trusted him and his judgement. Damn, his chest felt all light and fluttery at the though. Hardly anyone trusted him with anything these days and yet here they were, all willing to look up him,willing to follow him down whatever path life presented them with.

If this wasn't a good day then he didn't know what was.

Rolling his eyes at Percy's quip, Askan began to tread through the snow, and with a flick of his tail he gestured for the others to follow.

They'd all agreed that this land would be theirs, it was time to make it so.

"It's settled then."He said, his grin earnest and wide."Let's get a move on, start setting up some borders. Then after we can go on a hunt to celebrate. Sounds good, right?"If that wasn't the best idea he'd had in a long while then he had no idea what was.

Settled then, Phoenix still wasn’t convinced it was ever really a question. A small shake of her head with a smirk was enough to convey that she was done poking fun for now though and as Askan lead the way to start marking the borders she splintered off to make sure her own scent laced among those of the others. Nostalgia washed over her as she considered wrapping it up with a hunt, since that had been how things went down at the Rye Field too. But they just had to get through the housework first. Finding food hadn’t been hard with so many around but it’d still be nice to come together over a proper meal.

Her tail waved behind her with obvious joy. This was happening! They were gonna be like a legit group now! Hawthorne had been perfectly happy with just being a rag tag group but there was also something so fulfilling about this.

Border patrols were something she had been exposed to back in White Fir Notch. She gave a soft tug on Plant Boy's ear before saying her piece. "We'll start over here!" Her head motioned towards the south. It would be easy to just go ahead and follow where the scents of them were. They had been hanging around for a bit now. A quick glance was tossed at her tawny friend before she began a brisk pace away.

Unfortunately the boy didn’t know anything about border patrols or hunting. He knew how to slip through borders, unnoticed, and kind of knew how to hunt smaller prey. Tikhon had shown him once. Oh no, he was going to show his new pack just how useless he really was… then they would surely kick him out. A mistake! That’s what he was. He swallowed, his ears falling to the side.

Pumpkin Eyes’ teeth on his ear brought him back to reality, his mismatched eyes trailing over to her peppered figure. We’ll start over here! Suddenly a smile burst across his features and he nodded, his tail wagging frantically behind him. Without hesitation the boy sauntered after his dark companion, offering a sharp See ya soon! bark to the rest of the group…

Remington spoke and Cottongrass wondered if he was supposed to have said more. And he knew that he wasn't the best at public speaking but he was pretty sure he could manage a sentence or two. Something beyond 'nope.' But he didn't get a chance to say anything else when Percy and then Askan spoke. Sachiel might have said something but he didn't hear it that clearly.

His tail wagged and he peered towards Askan. Was that it? Was starting a pack really that easy? You just said some words before doing stuff like peeing everywhere and hunting? He thought there would be more fanfare but he wasn't about to complain. Instead a smile spread across his features and he stepped forward. Towards his two best friends. And never one to be patient or anything less than intense —

"Bet I can do more marking than all of you!" He barked. The rest was history with Cottongrass barrelling past Askan and Reyes into the woods.
