He barked a laugh, a beaming smile sweeping across his features. Everly was such an oddball, in the most endearing way one could be. There was something silly about her that put a smile on Aleksei’s face, something he wanted to see more of until his grin couldn’t stretch any further and his cheeks hurt.
“Hurrah indeed,” he chuckled. “Now, maybe we can use those eyes of ours to find something for you to take back to your pack?” Behind him, his tail swayed lazily and at ease. He had said he would help her out with that, and it wouldn’t be gentlemanly of him to go back on his word, now would it?
With Everly’s agreement, the two of them set off from their little flower patch, in search of prey. Just as the bees finally arrived.
