The moon was high in the sky and the night was dark and cold. Lenae shuffled through the snow, head down, tail between her legs as her little form shook like a leaf caught in stormy gales. This life did not suit her at all. She was hungry, tired and worst of all cold. So very cold.
She was endlessly grateful for all @Bennet had done for her, how she'd helped her to her paws and tried to ease her pain but...As selfish as it felt to admit, it didn't feel as though it was enough. Nothing would ever be enough, unless she could turn back time and right all the wrongs she would always hurt, that was a fact she was slowly coming to accept now. Knowing that didn't make life any easier, nor was she happy in any sense of the word the word. She just... was. Living but feeling anything but alive.
The borders before her were well marked and maintained, she could even see the tracks in the snow, large paw prints that dwarfed her own. Alek's, or at least that was who she assumed they belonged to. So much had happened since they'd spoken last and...Well, did she need an excuse to want to talk to a friend?
And so, she tipped her head skywards and called out for him, her song quiet and subdued in comparison to how it had been when he'd heard it last.
