Birtie Parlow-Tallis

She knew she was cutting it close to the pack that lingered perhaps only a mile or two away from her current position. They would certainly be able to detect her if the left their homey borders. Birtie was being of no threat, though. She was merely curious and poking about. It wasn't like she had any odds in her favor. Even with her size she could not take on more than one wolf.

There might have been paths underneath all of the snow but for now, she had to make her own paths. Her steps were carefully placed in order to avoid stepping where she shouldn't. The last thing she wanted was an injury. She'd likely never make it down this damn mountain alive if she wound up tripping and falling everywhere.

A heavy huff escaped her as her shoulder slouched forward. Perhaps it was time to descend or even turn around and head north towards the peaks of the mountain.

He'd been patrolling as always it seemed looking for signs that Chan, Roland, or Tagg had returned to the cove. He'd grown more worried with their continued absences from the pack. He was worried for Moonshadow as well. While she seemed to be keeping a brave face and Tulip seemed to be helping he feared that Chan still missing and Tagg not returned was taking its toll on her. He would have to speak with her later.

He'd been checking outside the border hoping for a scent or something that might indicate they had been in the area. It was hopeful thinking really and then the question would be why hadn't they just come home. His nose found a different yet familiar scent. The alpha chose to follow it until he came to find the female from the springs.

He followed her for a time wondering what she was up to before he finally made his presence known. “So we meet again,” he stated coming into view.

"So we meet again,"

She turned her head over her shoulder, seeing the familiar form of the older male. A small smirk tugged at her features before it disappeared. Do you have a habit of sneaking up on wolves? Both meetings he had seemingly appeared from thin air. It was almost unsettling. Perhaps the wind wasn't on her side or maybe this male was some sort of creep. A stalker.

Birtie couldn't say she had ever had one of those before. No one back at the Coast had to stalk.

I got my wits about me so don't go thinking I was gonna bother your pack. If the male was going to run her off or shoo her it'd be a bit unnecessary. The large female could easily escort herself out, no need to use teeth or harsh words. Granted she knew how pack wolves could be about homes. She had had her own rugged ways of dealing with nosy creatures back home.

She seemed to he a quick one because as soon as she saw that it was him she had a quick retort to what he'd said. He couldn't help but chuckle, “It seems I might be developing a habit.” Considering he'd snuck up on her twice now though the first time it had been completely on accident. This time was a little different, “Do you have a habit of showing up on a wolf’s borders after meeting them once?” He asked in jest.

There could be plenty of reasons she was there but he felt she was a safe distance away from border. Still he was curious what had brought her this way when there were plenty of other ways away from the springs.

"I can promise you that wasn't even a thought in my mind,”, he reassured her. A smile did spread across his maw, “Your an intelligent girl I am sure you would know better than that.” He had no intentions of chasing her off but was more hoping to talk with her a little more. “So why have you come here?” He asked her as he stepped a little closer to her.

It took two to tango and it seemed they were both damn good dancers.

My, my. You were the one who handed out the information so freely. Her words may have been sharp but her overall tone was easy-going. She had no real intention of playing foul. Not when she was too close to his territory. If she slipped up in tones, made him think he was in danger, well she'd be outnumbered with one simple call.

A brow raised sharply. Do all the intelligent girls go leaving home in the dead of winter? She didn't move as he stepped closer but she kept her gaze locked on him. Same reason I gave back at the springs. I'm traveling. Winding up here wasn't planned. Her shoulders rolled easily and lazily. Some things just happen.

She wasn't going to let him ask all the questions, though. Why are you out here talking to me? You know you didn't have to come find me. They both knew that.

Well she certainly was a spirited girl with quite the wit about her. He found it refreshing in a way.

“That I did,” agreed narrowing his eyes slightly in amusement. He wouldn't deny that he had but it didn't quel his curiosity as to why she was there. “I didn't expect to see you around so soon,” or at all. She hadn't seemed too interested in the information given. “Not that I mind you being here.” He didn't mind seeing her again at all.

His brow furrowed at her question as if she was making the statement that she didn't think she was smart. “It would depend on their reasons,” he shot back. He knew there were reasons that would lead a wolf to leave their home in times that were less than ideal. He resisted the urge to scoff at her next answer. “I will give you that,” he said with a slight dip of his head though he was still doubtful.

It seemed she didn't like being asked the questions and began asking her own. A smile slid across his maw, well wasn't she a quick one. “No I didn't have to come find me but Maybe I wanted to talk with you again without an audience,” he said taking another step toward her.

Birtie did not mind his comments. Her hidden ego happily accepted them. She had to wonder if she was something special or if he just happened to be like this with every girl that came passing through. The large female didn't openly ask, though. She was not ready to come off as rude. Snarky and sassy was one thing.

She supposed it did depend on one's reasons. Not that she had very good reasons for leaving home. Boredom and restlessness had driven her to leave the coast. Granted he didn't ask her reasons so she didn't tell.

The large Parlow stood her ground, tail raising ever so softly but more in a playful challenge manner than anything serious. So what is it you have to talk about then? There was no one around as far as she could tell. Not even a rogue child to pester them with questions.

Kajika felt he had made it more than clear that he liked seeing her and that he didn't mind her being there. He didn't mind the ways she answered his questions or didn't depending on what it was. She hadn't said anything off color so he had no reason to be defensive with her.

He was curious about her reason for leaving home in the dead of winter but since they had only just met it didn't feel right asking. He did hope that maybe one day he would get the chance to ask her. The dark alpha didn't get his hopes up, he'd done that one too many times.

He would enjoy her company while she was there since she was a loner she could come and go as she pleased. He had no power over that. His brow raised when she asked what he wanted to talk about. “Hmmm,” he hummed as he looked into her eyes, “I hadn't actually gotten that far. You left rather abruptly and I didn't expect to see you again. I haven't had time to prepare a whole conversation.” Part of it was jest but the rest was true he hadn't gotten that far. He did notice she didn't seem to mind his closeness.

She couldn't help but chuckle at his words. Sought me out to talk but didn't have a conversation planned. Her head gave a few gentle shakes. It truly was laughable but she could only hope he didn't take it too to heart.

Certainly you're more than just looks. Birtie dramatically eyed the male to make her point. There has to be something tumbling about in that head of yours. A question? Worries? Simply thoughts you need to dump out? The Parlow woman would not mind an interaction but if he was going to waste her time she ought to just turn tail and leave. Handsome males were welcomed but she also required they had more than looks. Rude? Just maybe but she didn't care for other's thoughts on her requirements.

Birtie took a soft step back, tail flicking behind her. A few steps were fine but he'd have to earn her close presence. Perhaps he'd have a bit of a more childish streak in him. Were leaders even capable of that?
