It had started as a flight of fancy. If Lorcan had come all the way home and gone back to where he had come from, then why couldn't she? Nothing quite grabbed the girl like the chance of an adventure, and with her mother's temper warming with the weather, her angry snaps and snarls directed towards her daughters for the first time in their lives, well, maybe getting away from it all for a while was just what she needed? But no matter how she tested the borders she always came home again at the end of the day... Until she didn't.

As her pale orange eyes swept over the land before her, she wondered if this was it? Was this the place she was finally going to stop for a while or would it be like all the rest? A blip on the trail of her grand adventure? Here, the snow still clung to the ground in great rifts and she wondered if she maybe should have headed south, but the snow had its advantages too. With a broad sweep of her tail, she sauntered forward, toward the distant treeline with nary a care in the world. Her only complaint would be how quiet things had been, but that was nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little bit of company. Her muzzle turned to the sky as she howled, Is anybody out there? Surely @Aurek hadn't gotten that far ahead of her?

Aurek wasn't that far ahead of his sister indeed and as it often was, she had a talent of ruining his hunts at the most critical moments. The young pale boy was just about to rush after a hare when his dear sister decided to howl for some company.

That sound installed panic into his prey, making it more alert, those long ears turning around and scanning for sounds. If Aurek waited he might have a chance - but If he did not reply to his sister she might think he's moved too far ahead or worse.

He closed his eyes and sighed, that sound alone enough to send the hare running away. He stood up and lifted his head higher, replying to his sister with clear and clearly annoyed tone. What now??!11/ >:(

Rounded ears cupped forward at the answering howl. Oh so he was nearby! He might have been a year her junior but nobody would ever claim the elder of the pair was the more responsible one of the duo. It sounded like he was a bit further to the south yet so she picked up her paws, head scanning from side to side across the open expanse as she bounded onward. Finally she spotted the smudges of rust and grey against the white backdrop and sped up in her approach. It was obvious from her waving tail that she wasn't approaching with any ill intent but unless he scooted rather quickly she was going to leap over his megre cover and embrace him in a rather rough tackle, "Auriiiieeee!" I thought you'd left me behind!"

Brace for impact. Aurek made no attempt to get out of the way, rather seemingly surrendering to the situation he was in. As annoying as the big sister could often be, the pale boy did not really hate her or dislike her company - provided it was in small doses at the time. She had already destroyed his hunt, so there was no reason to cry over it.

"Hey si- umphh!" -was about as much as he managed to say before he was taken down by her. They had not even been a day apart and already she embraced him like it would have been ages. Aurek laid in the snow like a dead corpse, although slightest of smile showed at the corner of his mouth. He was still child enough to be easily persuaded into play.

"guhh... happy to see you too. Had you waited a moment longer, we'd have a meal to share... butt head" -he murmured, already starting the sibling banter - although with good intentions.

Pfft! the wet raspberry sound left her cheeks as her brother admonished her. Waiting was for the timid, and they were bold explorers! Following in the pawsteps of other... relatives that had shaken off their mothers oppressive rule! Her tail thumped the snow regardless, a little reluctant to let the younger wolf up now that she had him so convincingly pinned... and he was warm, and she was tired. Who ever woulda thought travelling would be so exhausting?

But, she supposed, she wasn't the daintiest thing on four legs and if she didn't get off him then maybe they'd both end up going hungry... so she shifted her weight by rolling to the side to sprawl out in the snow next to him, paws reaching up as though to batt at the clouds. "So where do you think we should go from here huh?"

Aurek Artemieva
@Duska

Aurek remained for a moment longer in the ground even when his sister finally ceased pinning him. Aurek had no idea where they were so when she asked the question where to go, he only let out huff. "Somewhere where there is food? I don't know, I guess that way." -He lifted his head enough to point his muzzle at random direction as that was as much of an right direction as any for him.

Aurek got up onto his feet and shook his pelt, snow flying about as he muttered, looking at his more playful sister. Seeing her like that, relaxed on her back was a sight that made him smile. Despite how impossible she sometimes was, Aurek loved Duska dearly and he was happy to have her with him, even if she was occasional hinderence.

He could have bounced on her, but it was not really his way to go and bully her as much as she might do it to him. Still, he kicked some snow at her while telling her to get up. "How about you help me catch something. The food aint gonna run into your mouth, sis."
