Daighre
Set north of Willow Ridge. For @Leotie :D
He wasn’t a local. He didn’t have the lands memorized and he never would because like hell was he staying in a wasteland like this, but Daighre liked to imagine that he knew enough about travelling and scouting to go from one place to another without getting lost while keeping good time. The mountains couldn’t have been far now. Just another day of travelling and he would be home free. Maybe he could even make it there in half of a day.

After all, the faster he went the less time he would have to spend around the locals. The nobodies that were stupid enough to bother him and act surprised when he lashed out. He bared his teeth in a grimace of disgust before pressing forward. It was like everybody and their mom was the epitome of forced happiness and friendly cheer. It was goddamn creepy if you asked him. Didn’t they have anything better to deal with? Like addressing the fact that they were nothing and always would be?

And speaking of nobodies

The scent of pack struck him like a physical blow and Daighre hissed. It was like the fuckers were everywhere. Like an infestation of rabbits or mice. Of course, rabbits and mice had purpose unlike most wolves he found so far but whatever. It wasn’t like he was on the borders or anything. He was going around because while he might have been many things—namely, awesome—he wasn’t stupid.

His tail lashed and Daighre gave the smell a wide birth as he weaved between frozen trunks and drooping branches. The mountains couldn't have been too far, now.

not looking for some fairytale bliss

With the willows quiet for once and food not being such a high priority Leotie felt that the pack was in a good place. It was what led her to take a walk just outside the borders. Some quiet time to herself and the thoughts that had been on her mind for awhile now. Spring would he arriving soon and she knew what that meant for her. Now she understood what her body would go through and what it all meant. It also left her wondering what did it mean for her and for the pack.

She wasn't stupid she knew that there wasn't a mates pair within the willows to have pups. She and Sven had grown much closer since he'd brought her back to the ridge but Lilith was there and she still wasn't sure about Sven's relationship with the female. Would Ravenna be having pups? Did Sven want them? Leotie of course wouldn't ask, it wasn't her place as a subordinate though she had to admit she didn't much like the waiting game. Time would tell what was in store for her future she just hoped that whatever that was wouldn't disrupt the life that she and her packmates had in the willows.

There however was something that could disrupt the peace that the willows had just then. Leotie had caught the scent of a stranger not far away. The Agouti woman quickened her pace to find this stranger and what he wanted.

Soon enough she came upon him she could see he wasn't much older than Addy or Roman. “Can I help you with something?” she called as she came closer to him slowing her pace. She didn't want to put the yearling on guard if she didn't need to.

Daighre
He jinxed himself. It was the only thought inside of his head the moment he heard and smelled the stranger coming up behind him. Daighre O’Connolly went and goddamn jinxed himself and he was so close to the mountains, too.

Damnit.

God damnit.

It was probably too late for him to pretend he didn’t hear her and keep walking, too. She was gaining on him and like hell was he running away from her. But damn was the idea tempting. She would probably be too slow and clumsy to keep up with him. And he wasn’t familiar with the forest or the nearby foothills, but he was pretty sure he could manage, right?

His breath rattled out of him loud and annoyed. Neither of those plans would work. She was already right there and he was already stopping and turning to face her. Maybe if he was rude enough she would get the message. It had yet to work but maybe this time it would.

So, with his best glower and blandest voice, Daighre spoke.

“No.” No, he did not need help. Who did she think he was? A newborn? He fought the urge to keep speaking and inside focused on biting his tongue.

It hadn't taken much for the Agouti woman to catch up to the yearling. She was in much better shape these days and felt a lot better than she had through the summer and fall. She took the young man in as she got closer to him. She expected things to go well and she would ask him what he was doing help if he needed it and send him in his way.

How wrong she was as the one word slipped from his lips. A huff came from the woman as he hackles raised. What was it with these disrespectful youths, didn't anyone teach manners and respect anymore, at least common sense. “What the hell are you doing?” She said taking a step closer so that she was in the verge of entering his space.

“Really, I'm not in the mood from more rude behavior from yearlings who think they can act like that to a pack wolf.” She took another step forward, “What are you doing here?” She demanded.

Daighre
He wasn’t expecting much from her. Maybe disbelief and surprise would ripple across her features and she would say something about how he didn’t have to be so rude. Maybe she would get annoyed and storm off because she thought he deserved it. Those were more common reactions he got when he was rude. But what he didn’t expect—and never would, because what the hell was her problem?—was for her to get aggressive.

His lip curled back in disgust and a growl rumbled in his throat. He answered her question. What else did she want from him? Perfect submission and endless adoration? For him to apologize and immediately understand the error in his ways? She was goddamn crazy. If he knew that from the beginning, he wouldn’t have bothered stopping for her or wasting his precious breath.

Whatever.

If she wanted to start a fight with him, it was her funeral. His eyes narrowed into slits and he stepped forward. She wasn’t the only one that could act scary. Of course, he actually was scary unlike her, but he supposed beggars couldn’t be choosers.

“What the hell does it look like I’m doing?”
