Cold Water Creek Ice boat

event: Spinning ice discs are forming within bodies of water throughout the Lore.

He had no idea were he was anymore, he thought he was heading in the right direction but wasn't certain any more. He walked for so, so long and his paws were hurting from all the walking he done. He was quite certain he realized why his dad had not wanted him to leave the wild river. But he let Nia go with out trying to keep her and he needed to find her. He knew his sister well and he knew she likely stay to the forest, maybe be cause she was looking for a forest dwelling pack but still. They were one side of the same coin.

Eye would look over the river large discs were floating on the water moving down stream. While young a swim did not really look tempting but maybe the discs could be used as a bridge? He carefully place his paws into the freezing water whining loudly as he pulled back. Holly shit it was cold.... Green eyes would linger on the water for a moment befornhe grunted and moved to the edge of the bank cold water laping at his toes.

Then he leaped, legs strechimg to land on the first large disc, not even once considering if they could actually hold his weight. But winters chill had left them strong and his weight was not enough to break the ice. Unfortenalty Ice is slippery, and ice discs don't stay still in the water. The movement of him landing on the disc made it spin and he dropped to his belly as his legs slipped under him. Whining with his tail tucked under him he started to realize that this maybe wasn't his best idea.

He was currently traveling along a large river, sluggish in the winter season. Slowly revolving disks of ice dotted the water, and the veteran paused with a small smile on his face as he remembered sparring Moon on a similar disk of ice.  Homesickness ached in his chest and he wanted more than anything to turn around and head straight home.

But Chan was still out here.

Just as Tagg was about to start moving again, the form of a young wolf dashed out and leapt onto one of the pieces of ice.  The father thought for a moment it was his son, but the fur was too light.  Still, he bolted forward as the boy slid towards the edge, ice bobbing dangerously.  The veteran flung himself after the stranger, paws splayed in expectation of the slick surface.  His impact leveled the sheet out.  He didn’t know if it really would have tipped and sent the young man before him into the river, but he remembered the way it had tilted under his weight a few months before.

“Are you alright?” He asked, toes digging into the ice to steady him as it slowly turned.

Neo Hervok Side by side or miles apart Neo did not see the stranger nor hear him, he only felt the ice and its movement. He felt his paws slip on the surface as the ice started to tip. He was going to fall in, he was going into the cold water in a moment when the ice-tipped far enough. In the turmoil, he closed his eyes a whine escaping his lips before the something landed on the disk making its movements change so he slipped back a bit still laying on his belly. Green eyes would open up wide and head would turn to look at the man who had stopped him from plummeting into the freezing water. His fur was all over the place fluffed up as the scent of fear clung to it. His tail placed under his belly and ears pulled back to his head. Neo just started at the man jaw opening slightly but no words came. He saved him, this reddish wolf had saved him. Realizing the stranger had asked him a question the boy nodded his pale head. His own claws spreading out to try and dig into the ice as he realized that was what the man was doing. But he still staid on his belly, not really sure fo standing up would be any good idea. He did not really feel like taking another slippery ride around the ice. "Thanks" he said green eyes looking up at the man's. "Talking" OOC: @Tagg

The boy stayed huddled against the flat ice, eyes squeezed shut until the ice stopped moving. Finally he realized he was not alone and nodded in response to the russet man's question. Tagg smiled in relief; this may not be HIS son, but he was SOMEBOSY'S son and Tagg was glad he was alright.

"You're welcome. I've been on these before. You need to have someone to balance out the other side." He shifted his stance, testing his weight. "Can you move to the middle?" He asked. The best way to get the boy off the ice and to the safety was to get him to a place where he could safely get to his feet.

Neo Hervok Side by side or miles apart The man smiled when he nodded, and looked relaxed for some reason. Did he worry about him? Why, he was a stranger? Not a pack mate or family member whom this man knew just some random boy who placed his nose out too far. Neo looked up at the man ears rasing to a peak as he spoke, a lot of fo words. Explaining about the ice, and why it almost showed him into the water. The boy understood where he been wrong, he shouldn't have crossed them alone. The man's next words were met with wide eyes, move? Last time he moved he almost fallen in. He whined slightly as he looked around avoiding eye contact for a moment. But then another problem came to his mind. if he moved would they not be standing wrong? Would the ice not tip again? But the man had said he been on one of these before. And he was here, meaning he have had to get off it too. The young Hervok nodded his head carefully before starting to move carefully forth. Crawling without lifting himself off the ice to afraid to stand up and slip again and risk falling into the water. once as close to the middle he dared go with the feeling of the ice moving under him due to the new weight change he looked up at the man, with questioning eyes. The boy seemed afraid for a moment, but finally began to slither forward. Tagg mirrored his movement, easing towards the center to keep the balance. The ice freaked under the change in weight, but only bobbed a little.

Once in the center the young wolf looked up at him. "See? It's okay. My name is Tagg. Why did you jump out here?" Now that they were closer, the veteran could smell that his counterpart hadn't been with a pack in a long enough time that he carried no scent. His heart ached for Chan, who he knew would no longer carry the Cove's pack scent either.

The young boy allowed a short relived sigh to leave his lips as the man talked again. It was an introduction, the man's name @Tagg, what an odd name. But guess it was alright easy to remember and say. "Neo Hervok" he replied in return, that was how it worked right? You got a name and gave one? Though he wasn't sure of the last name, the man had not said his but dad always told them to be proud of their last name and their rank as prince and princesses of the woodlands. Eyes would look to the other side, the side which he had been trying to get to. "Have to find Nia, and Woodlands" he spoke returning his glance to the man. "Thought I could cross over the ice" he once again fell silent for a moment before looking back at the man. "Help me to shore?" he asked looking to the side he had been wanting to go to. "Talking" OOC: its fine!

The boy seemed to relax, even just a little, once in the center. He offered up his own name in response. Neo was not a bad name. He's never heard the surname Hervock before, but then he wasn't very well travelled this far north.

The pup was looking for someone as well? Tagg smiled encouragingly. "I'm looking for someone too; my son, Chan." He explained, trying to help Neo relax further. He glanced to the far side of the river. He would have to cross back again, but better him than send the boy on his own.

"Of course I'll help," He said kindly. "I'll stay here and balance the disk while you jump to the next one. Get to the center so it doesn't tip; using your claws will help keep you from sliding. Okay?"

Neo Hervok Side by side or miles apart Oh, so @Tagg was looking for someone too? And a wolf just like he was looking for Nia. But the other man's words also made a ball of guilt form in his belly. Was Darios looking for him too? After all, he had just left without saying anything. But it was not his fault, if Darios hadn't let Nia just go on her won he wouldn't have to look for Neo! the boy convinced himself. "Haven't seen a Chan" he replied words sorrowful, as he looked at the man. He really did wish he could help, he knew how painful it was to look for some, after all, he was still missing his twin. Then, new instructions were given and Neo's ears peaked as he listened but worry soon spread on his face. Jump between them?  He looked at the man and at the next ice disc and then back at Tagg. His eyes seemed uncertain, and worried before he carefully tried to stand up tail still tugged firmly under him. Green eyes would narrow on the next disc as he carefully and weary slowly turned around on the ice. Hesitating for a moment he whined slightly, this did not seem like a good idea at all. But Tagg had done this before, so what he said had to be right. The boy looked back at the man worry in his eyes before he turned back to the new disc. Breathing in for a moment and trying to steady his shaking knees. He finally jumped, and fear swept over him as he was in the air for a moment and then hit the slippery ice again. For a moment his paws lid from under him but he managed to keep on his paws and get to the middle of the disc. Ears laid back and tail tugged against his belly he turned to look back at Tagg.
