Phoenix hadn't really thought of where she was going until she hit the invisible wall of scent that marked the borders. She blinked once, and then twice, a heavy huff leaving her chest as her heart began to race. She could feel the bile rising in the back of her throat, tail tucking low as she backed away from the border as if she had been struck. A low whine was building in the bottom of her chest. She'd been planning on heading back to the edge, what on earth was she doing here? This was the wrong side of the mountain entirely.
The conflict was clearly written on her face. She should probably... check in, while she was here... but a bigger part of her told her she was better off just turning around and slipping back into the trees. Go home, the little voice told her, you aren't needed here, and she nodded to herself, turning to weave her way back into the undergrowth and away from the borders, back towards the mountain. She shouldn't be here at all.
