The evening weather was fine, but the wolf was not.

Treyah was used to the ethereal roiling storm clouds that shadowed her every step, what she wasn't accustomed to was the endless thunder, the flashes of lightning, the raging fire that burned beneath - endlessly. Usually, it was one or the other, but of late... It seemed she couldn't shake either, and pretending to hold it all together was becoming... exhausting. She wanted to rip, to tear and taste blood on her tongue. She wanted the sticky, oozing warmth of it being spilled to matt her coat, a visible red flag for any that might think to cross her on this night.

She wanted to let go of everything she was, and ever had been.

The sound of a closing door was almost audible, soft golden eyes hardening like set amber. She wouldn't allow herself to be hurt again. What was the use in expectations if others only sought to dash them in front of your very eyes? What was the point of being good, or caring if she was always left feeling so miserable? If nobody else ever did the same for her?

There was no smile on her face as she set out into the woods, the waning moon barely lighting her way through the trees. Not that it mattered. She had other senses she could depend on.

To be frank, Tenebrae had grown somewhat concerned for his co leader as of late. He wasn’t sure what it was but something about her felt off. Part of him was convinced it was because she was expecting pups so of course her energy felt off. Not to mention she seemed to forget things mid sentence and he thinks this is what his mother meant by the bad case of baby brain she had, when pregnant with him and his siblings. So that had to be it. It was just her pregnancy and Treyah would be more then fine in the coming months.

But still, as he paced around the borders that night, unable to sleep, his ears perked up when he heard the footfalls of a nearby something. Treading carefully towards the noise, thinking it was possibly a loner coming too close to the borders, he was surprised to see it was Treyah moving away from them. Trailing after her as he wondered what she was doing up so late, his mouth opened to call out to her. She needed the rest after all.

But his jaws clicked shut when he noticed something in her eyes. Something was definitely wrong. He didn't wish to disturb her, thinking she wanted time to herself but that niggling worry was back in his chest.

So he just followed at a distance, making sure to keep quiet and thankful to the shadows of the barely shining moon.

It happened again. Though this time her desire to search was muted both by Suka's scathing words and Reiko's insistence that the Draw wasn't for him (how could it not be? Their parent's had claimed it for them.) That didn't mean she wouldn't search at all, after all, she knew exactly how @Lana would feel when it finally sunk in. It was early days yet, but the Tainn knew better than to get her hopes up.

She had expected to be followed from the Draw, suspecting that maybe Draven or Garmir would be on her heels, but the shadow at her back was larger than either of them, and she didn't suspect that Kerb had stopped sulking for long enough to realise she was gone. Which left her co-lead.

As she came upon the large stone structure, the towering trees concealing the rest of the woods beyond, she paused. Even now the hawthorn crowded against the rocks, just as her mother had described. She thawed a little in that moment, of course it was real, the Pass had been real too. Bad things had happened here. But bad things happened everywhere, didn't they?

Trotting after Treyah carefully, Tenebrae kept his bright eyes on the woman as she came across a large stone structure covered in Hawthorne. Looking over it as Treyah stopped to seemingly study it, Tenebrae considered stepping out of the shadows, to join her in the slight light provided. But he felt she knew he was there anyway, as though he kept quiet, it hadn't been a some great secret that he followed her.

After all, it was out of concern he trailed her and all he wished to do was let her know that if she wished, he was there.

There was part of him that wondered what this structure was and why his co lead had come out here. Obviously it was important to her in some way and as he studied it further, he wondered if there were any others who considered it to be anything. To him, it was just a rock. A rock covered in plants. Nothing more.

"Its certainly something to behold, isn't it?" Only speaking softly, as if he was going to break something, Tenebrae tilted his head slightly. Figured even if he couldn't get her talking about what was wrong, maybe he could get her to tell him what she knew. "Don't know what it is but almost seems like some awfully great king reigned here once, if that crown of thorns is anything to go by."
