Fallen Tree Cove threadbare

Kajika was quick to assure him, but Roland could read between his words. He didn't make any promises about whether they would be able to fix his leg or not. The best care they could give could mean a long range of things. They might just keep him comfortable and medicated, unable to do anything about the irreversible damage of his limb. After all, weren't bones supposed to be like, the hardest thing ever next to rock? If he broke his... well, he'd never seen a shattered rock successfully mended back together. He'd never seen anyone try, either, but...

Then this stranger showed up, and started babbling and stuttering and Roland's jaw dropped as he gawked at her. What the hell was this? Why on earth was she here? Were they actually keeping this thing around? She looked grown, but she was so tiny and spoke like a baby. He couldn't even understand anything she was saying other than 'leg' and 'plant.'

Who the hell are you? almost shot out of his mouth, be he remembered his cover intime and clicked his jaws shut quickly. To distract himself, he hugged closer to Moonshadow's nape and looked to Kajika.

"Grizzly Hollow is gone. Don't know why or where but the forest is empty down there."

Kajika's mind was going through all the possibilities of packs with healers that could help. Veho came to mind but it had been such a long time since he'd seen the man. He knew Namid had gone to visit him a little more recently but she wasn't in the cove. Of course of she were she could help. He also tried to reassure the young boy that his leg would be fine which Kajika did believe as long as he got the rest he needed and kept the leg still so it could heal. The problem came if the leg was broken awkwardly and needed to be put back in place. He at least knew that much about these sorts of injuries.

Moonshadow too was doing her part to reassure Roland that he would be okay but Kajika knew her. She was worried just as much as he was. They'd taken this boy in and now he was theirs to take care of and make sure he got better. Surprise crossed the dark man's features as Tulip or all wolves spoke up about a plant called Solomon's seal. So many questions came to mind but Moonshadow covered the most pertinent one. “If you do maybe you could go and get some for Roland?” he asked trying to not scare her. Though he felt she was a very capable wolf he also worried she was fragile on some area's.

His attention was drawn back to Roland as he spoke of Grizzly Hollow, it was the first that he'd heard of it being gone. “I wonder if Namid knows this,” he said, “Maybe we can figure it out on another day but it looks like Veho won't be any help.” His head tilted slightly at the boy as he wondered how he knew of the hollow. It was a conversation for another day. “We will figure something else out,” he said to the wolves around him.

Just as quickly as she had become worth something she became useless. Where could one find the plant? That had been so long ago...yet she remembered the other details. The heat of embarrassment warmed her cheeks, why did she have to pip up? Only adding to the child's discomfort the younger boy gave her a strange look. His jaw had dropped! She recoiled meekly from the crowed, a soft whine leaving her lips. She looked to Kajika to Moon and shook her head with sorrow. She felt overwhelmed now and took some steps backwards to help alleviate her stress.

"Tulip go prey cache?" she offered, hoping to get out of the situation to fetch the male a meal.

Once the boy was securely on her back the large woman began to slowly walk towards the medical den as they talked. Silver dusted ears remained flicked back to hear her companions talk. It worried her that this pack - Grizzly Hallow - was no longer around. That meant thwir best idea for a healer was too. Her dark co-lead suggested if Namid may know. Moon thiught she could but no one had heard from her since she had left. So the dark woman didnt think she would be of much help. So for now they would have to figure something out. Silver gaze met @Tulip's as she gave a sad shake of her head. Well this is just great. Moon felt horrible that she couldnt do anything for the pup right now. Tulip asked if she should go get something from a cache. "Sure only if @Roland would like something" she replied leaving it up to the injured boy if he would like something to eat. She hoped that @Kajika really did have a plan.

Who in the heck was Namid? Roland hoped a shit ton of new wolves hadn't joined while he'd been gone. That would just be a pain. There were too many worries eating at him just then, and so he attempted to just push them all away with a sigh. He then took a deep, and let Moonshadow's scent and presence comfort him.

They spoke about the weirdo getting him food, and he found that to be a perfect opportunity to not only get her the hell away from them for a bit, but also to exert some kind of control over this awful situation.

"Yeah. I want food."

The small, nervous, she wolf waited to be dismissed and took her exit faster than one could say "gotcha". Tulip moved across the packlands with speed, making a bee line for the prey cache. Why was she so gosh darn self embarrassing? She really did need to learn to hush at the right times and speak only when needed. Why was it that she was talking so much anymore anyways? She hated talking. The ebony girl shook her head, she was being put to use and getting that poor injured pup food was a priority. Even if he seemed a bit...rotten?

So with it decided that they needed to find a healer Moon and Kajika took Roland to the medical den. Tulip ran to get the pup something to eat. Once they got to the den the large woman helped get the boy settled and began to tend to his wounds just as any mother would with their child.
