Patches of grass that had once seemed so lively almost crunched under her over sized paws. It was even worse when mud puddles seemed to become dry. While she had never liked getting dirty, it was alarming that there seemed to be little ways to cool off now.
She awkwardly moved towards the river with hopes she wouldn't get busted by a nosy older sibling or overbearing adult. The girl just wanted a way to cool off before she lost her mind.
The riverbed was a bit dry but the water was still present. Kisina eagerly dipped her front paws into the cooling waters as a grin spread across her face, tail whipping wildly behind her.
Azra was standing at the opposite side of the river bank—how he ended up there, we'll just never know—looking frazzled and alarmed by his sister's simple movements in the shallow water. She seemed like she was having fun but she had no idea that right at that very moment a gigantic fish could pop out of the water and eat her. Azra had seen the fish last week when it hadn't been so dang hot. They were big: nearly as big as them and their mouths opened super wide!! They could swallow a cub like them whole. And now that there was much less water to swim in there was a lot less distance between them and the fish.
If he weren't desperately afraid of going near the water he would have sloshed his way through the water, tackled her, and dragged her out. But that meant going in the water and he wasn't going to do that. All he could manage was to turn up the persuasion from 2 to 7: "You'll die."
She was pretty content to ignore her brother's first words with a wave of her oversize paw. Kisina was actually more interested in how he got to the other side but before she could even bother with asking that he said something a bit more alarming.
Her jaw dropped for a moment as she stared at her brother. When she found her composure she quickly shot out with a sour tone. "What d'ya mean? Her brows pinched together tightly as she stepped back out of the water. She wasn't scared or anything she just...wanted to be safe. Safety first and all. "Will you die?" She asked a bit more worriedly this time. Kisina couldn't save him if he was gonna die across the water. Sure she could cross the water to try and save him but what good would that do her? Because it seemed like both of them were going to be dead.
