Quote:Your Gift is: You have some sweetgrass for an upset stomach -- but you've eaten sweet cicely by mistake! Your stomach sure feels better, but your head gets a bit foggy, and you sure feel nice and dazed afterwards...

Open to one other since I have no idea how this is going to go.

He wasn't sure why but the falling leaves sure looked interesting. They fluttered here and there and Solas could only stop and watch as they fell. Why were they so pretty today? On any other day they looked boring and something that blended into the background. Today they popped with color and entranced him to no end. Was it because he had eaten that plant earlier when his stomach had been hurting? It didn't matter the stormy man decided the leaves were much more entertaining than some random questions he might have about a silly plant.

As he watched another leaf fall, a yellow one this time. Solas saw a flash of blue and tipping his head back he found himself looking at a blue jay. It let out its rasping call before flying away and in his attempt to keep it in sight Solas found himself tipping over. a brief moment of scrambling paws and flying leaves ended with him falling onto his side, one leg pulled awkwardly beneath him. The discomfort didn't matter because to his pleasure he found that he had kept the blue jay within sight. A happy smile slipped onto his face. Why was it important to keep it in sight? Who knew but he had done it anyway and it seemed important for the moment.

Lachesis "XIX" Stark

He was on route home from the Fjord when an unfamiliar scent caught his attention—another loner. His brows furrowed at the discovery, his pace quickening as he weaved through the trees surrounding the lake. A quick little detour before he returned to the Surge would not hurt. It was not often that loners passed through the forest that separated the Surge wolves from the nuisance in the north. It was likely the heavy concentration of scents that deterred them from lingering for too long. He wouldn’t be surprised if prey became scarce over the upcoming months once they realized there were too many wolves living nearby. Which meant only one thing: one pack had to go and it would not be Driftwood. The river wolves refused to move a third time.

A flash of charcoal caught his eye through the trees. But there was something… strange about the wolf. He was moving slowly, almost lethargically, but was completely entranced by the falling leaves. Huh. A frown creased his handsome features as he crept closer. Lachesis was unsure of whether he should leave the greyscale male to his business or interrupt… but before he could decide a question, unexpectedly, rolled off his tongue: You looking for something? He couldn’t stop the words from tumbling through the air no matter how quickly he tried to swallow them. He waited, awkwardly, for a response from the strange male, his head tipping to the side as he tried to figure out what the heck he was doing.

The mountains didn't have these colours and he wondered why he had never thought that odd. This was so much nicer than the rocks that stayed the same boring greys and browns. So many colours were everywhere and there was even the blue jay! Strange how he hadn't thought them pretty before.

He heard the sound of approaching paws but the stormy man didn't look to see who it might be. He needed to keep the blue jay insight as it let out its raspy voice again before it fluttered up higher into the branches. Solas blinked as it vanished from sight a sad look crossing his face. Why had it left? A voice broke the air and he glanced in surprise at the pale wolf that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

Maybe, maybe not. If he thought about it too hard it hurt his chest and he didn't want to feel that when right now everything felt just right. Except for the fact that the blue jay had left. That wasn't right but a wolf couldn't exactly fly so he was out of luck at the moment. I'm not sure. He added with a light shrug and a dazed look in his eye before he pulled his one leg out from underneath him, it had started going numb.

You looking for something too? He asked though his eyes had wandered back to the falling leaves. The seemed to dance to him as they twisted here and fluttered there. Too bad he couldn't bring them up the mountain to add more colour.

A soft smile traced his pale features as the greyscale male gave an ominous response to his question. Lachesis had nearly forgotten how strange some loners could be, but that did not deter him. If anything it made him even more intrigued by the loner standing before him. But the male seemed a little… dazed, as though he was not all there. Which made XIX wonder if he was a threat and should be ushered away from the Surge… unless there was something wrong with him… but he could not tell yet. He would have to dig a little more information out of the stranger first before making a decision as to whether the loner was a threat or harmless. I suppose I’m the same predicament, he answered with an indifferent shrug, his chartreuse gaze fixated on the younger male. Not sure yet. Another shrug. He did not really know how else to answer, or what else to say. He was not sure if the greyscale male was even interested in conversation. He seemed a little distracted

He raised a brow as the stranger said that he was in the same predicament. Such a strange word. Predicament. Predic...Solas's thoughts stuttered as he tried to grasp the meaning of what had been said and almost missed what the stranger said next, though it mattered little. He let his head fall to rest on the ground as his eyes unfocused.

You feel funny too then? Maybe this pale stranger wasn't just looking for something but felt the same way he did. Solas couldn't exactly pinpoint why but it was weird to feel like this when there was nothing in particular around him to be happy about. Besides the leaves, they made him happy but he knew that any other time he would have ignored them. He wasn't sure if that made him sad or not.

Trying to focus his gaze Solas looked at the stranger once more. How are you going to know if you find it? He asked as if completely oblivious to his previous statement. How would he know when he didn't seem to know what he was looking for. Solas at least had an idea of what he was looking for...Maybe.

“Funny?” The ghost was a little perplexed by the charcoal man’s question. Something was definitely wrong with the loner, but Lachesis could not quite put his paw on it … “Definitely not.” A frown creased his dark lips at the thought as his chartreuse gaze narrowed, flitting over the dark male in an attempt at figuring out what was so wrong with him. It was likely that the loner had ingested something not suitable for wolves, or had fallen ill, which would explain the dazed expression he wore. Lachesis could not help but be concerned for the stranger’s well-being; it was his empathetic side pushing through, desperate for answers and yearning to fix whatever was wrong with him. But, for now, he waited. Patient and observant.

“I am sure I will know when I stumble upon it,” he hummed in response, a soft half-smile tugging at his lips and releasing them of his frown. “And you—what are you looking for?”
