The leader smirked at his cousin’s comments to his son, there was some truth that they kept him in line sure. They certainly gave hima reason to work hard and not wander too far from home no matter how itchy his wandering paws became. Nodding at the knowledge that the bear was alone and most likely just hungry, no sign of illness he murmured mostly to himself, ”We’ll have to double our patrols, and make sure we’re hunting in groups.” They couldn’t afford a bear injury as they head into the fall and inevitably winter.

He gave his mother a small smile over his son’s head as she explained, and felt maybe the first real stirring of affection for her since her return. Part of him ached to just accept her and let her in as his mother and his children’s grandmother again, but everytime he thought that he would remember his new sister and his guard would go back up. Looking away quickly he rumbled playfully in Eros’ ear, ”And they like to eat naught puppies for supper!” It was clear that he was joking, but he nudged his son along anyways.

It was time to get everyone home safe and sound.
