Apparently winter would be here for good.
The clouds hung thick and heavy, the branches of the willows sparse and the leaves that dared to still cling to them seemed rather dead. It sure did depress her to see it, but it was all well and good. It wouldn't be her first winter rodeo and she'd be damned if it'd be her last. So she waded through the woods with a confident prowl.
She had every intention of scoping out the perfect spot to make home. Especially when she imagined that the winter still had plenty of time to get much worse. This place, though? A good sniff around told her she wasn't the only one to have passed on by recently.
Maybe she could find whoever had been here most recently... If they didn't find her first, of course.

Scully Archer
Scully prowled the frozen forest, in search of a meal for both himself and @Avella. It wasn't like they were exactly tucked away, but it was still a happy surprise when he crossed the scent of wolf instead of prey. Abandoning the stale stench of hare, he veered toward the stranger's position.
She might've blended with the snow, were it not for the splashes of beige that caught the light. Scully smiled wrly and gave out a bark, signaling his approach. The scent she carried was not laced with others'; maybe he could bring home more than one treat for his sister? It was time to play friendly and inviting. His tail lifted to wag in the air while his silver eyes shined.
"Heya. Lookin' fer anything in particular?"

"Heya. Lookin' fer anything in particular?"
She about bounced a step forward when she heard the voice greet her. But, hey what was this! It was just a dude who looked pretty friendly! Good news for her and if she had to take a guess, he might have been the one she smelled all around here.
"Well well well, I wasn't but I found you! Sounds like a win anyway, innit?" A wide wolfish grin spread across her pale features as she looked at the man who was a deep contrast to her.
"You live here?" Might as well get that mystery sorted sooner rather than later.

Scully Archer
Upbeat and unreserved, Scully was promptly pleased with the younger woman and her presence. It was just the first few seconds, but how often did non-family pack members turn out to be long-standing ones? They just needed to get along enough not to plot against one another.
Sounds like a win anyway, innit? Damn straight, he was a prize. He'd have to try and reign in the arrogance for now, though. Some wolves didn't like that, whatever their problem was.
"Sure do," he answered her with crooked smile, swinging his muzzle toward the nearest of the namesake trees, bare branches coated in shimmering ice.
"Me n' my sister, in a place nearby called Willow Ridge."
Couldn't be called a pack in the moment, especially when one was close enough to scent that it was just the sibling duo residing in the area. At least it was something though, right? Better than being on one's own?
"So you weren't lookin'; is there still maybe something yer wantin'?"

A family man! Although maybe it was more an, erm, abandoned kids situation, but...he also didn't seem young. So.
Yeah, probably just a family man, she settled on.
Admittedly she didn't know what to make of that. If only because she had sort of cut loose from all of that the moment she could. To each their own though because there were more important things to focus on. Like what she wanted.
"Was thinkin' 'bout a place to crash. Maybe a snack. Y'know how it is." Winked for added effect. "But I ain't interested in pissin' you and your sister off." A sharp shrug of her shoulders.
She would never be a pain just to be one. Had to have some reason.

Scully Archer
Just what he wanted to hear. Scully's tail had eased all the way down to his heels by that point, still waving back and forth contentedly. He feigned a moment of consideration before giving his answer, the smile never leaving his maw.
"I think the three of us can manage gettin' along," he surmised, tipping his head inward, toward where he and his sister dwelled.
"I could hook ya up. If y'wanted."

She snorted an amused sound. Dude really was a happy go lucky thing and she supposed she should consider herself lucky for that. Especially if it meant warm spaces and a belly full of food.
"Yeah? What's the hook up entail and whatcha want in return?" She appraised him with a squinted gaze as her lips pulled in a lopsided grin. She figured she ought to be able to know what she was getting into before she agreed to be hooked up.
If he wanted eternal friendship and family bonding time or whatever, she'd definitely be scooting her rear right out of here.

Scully Archer
A smart couple of questions, Scully thought with a smirk. Good. He was quickly becoming confident that @Avella would genuinely like this one. Hopefully, she would agree too on the terms her brother was about to offer. It wasn't something he'd thought to discuss with her, and the masked Archer often operated moment-to-moment rather than applying any kind of true methodology anyways.
"Like y'said, just don't piss us off. We got a den and stocked caches, you c'n help yerself to 'em. Just don't get greedy, don't lie to us and don't leave us hurtin'."
Wasn't much to ask for, in his opinion. Certainly wasn't the way his father or any other predecessor had operated the Ridge, either. They needed a start, though, one way or another, and a third wolf's presence, even without vows of fealty, was the first step they needed. It would certainly bolster their credibility.

He didn't ask for much, that was for certain, and she wondered if that was kindness or weakness. Both? Neither?
Don't get greedy or lie. She wondered if they wouldn't sniff either of those out unless it was too late. Thankfully as it stood now, nobody had any reason to go lying, did they? She certainly didn't.
"Alright," She huffed easily enough with a grin that spread into something toothier than normal. Unfortunately it didn't look too out of place on her face. "You drive a hard bargain, y'know?" Although it was evident she was teasing and she was very much on board with this hook up she had walked her way into.
"Y'gonna give a girl a tour?"
