Sanguine Cove House on the Hill

AW. Avella has come to SC along either Hagar to introduce herself and make them aware of her intentions. Anyone from SC are welcome however special mention to @Hagar and @Aleister

The first stop on Avella's journey was in the mountains. She and Hagar had been traveling for three days to reach the mountain pack her brother had informed her about. She wanted to present herself in the best possible way and maybe create a relationship between her pack and the ones she was visiting on this trip.

She had paused before they'd made their approach to the border, "Are you ready for this Hagar?" She asked glancing over at her traveling companion. Then with a deep breath she set of toward the border stopping a respectable distance from it. It wouldn't do well to upset the wolves who lived there by doing something so stupid as disrespecting their borders.

'"Here goes nothing." The masked woman gave one more look toward Hagar before raising her muzzle into the air. She then sang a song that would hopefully invite the leader of the mountain pack and any others to join her and Hagar at the border.

He was amazed at the oasis sheltered within the mountain's ridged back. Having only known such terrain to harbor stone and scrub brush, this was an unexpected treat after the climb. Now better understanding why wolves had chosen to lay claim here, he was a bit more relaxed as they approached the border. @Moore had mentioned the mountain wolf he'd run into had been rather friendly as well, boding well for the visit too - hopefully they would be given the option to rest up before heading back down.

When asked if he was properly prepared, Hagar gave a confident nod. Yes, he was braced for interaction of any kind. Scully had made it rather clear that he was here not as a diplomat himself, but as the muscle and teeth to protect Avella if needed. He stood with neutral posture at her side as her song shuttled through the air, patiently waiting.

The crow had been up early that morning to take care of her duties. Though she didn't have any official duties she took on some of the things that needed to be done around the pack. It was how she felt she could help out most. It also helped her to get out and about in the pack in case she was needed elsewhere. She was also able to get some exercise in her bad leg so that it didn't get stiff on her, she knew that was important.


The call that caused Oksana's ears to perk up was one she hadn't heard before. The crow immediately became curious about who could be at their borders. It was lucky that she just happened to be doing a border patrol at the time. Instead of wondering who might have come for a visit she decided to go and find out.

Thankfully she wasn't too far from where the strangers were waiting. Her dark paws carried her the short distance until the pair of wolves came into view. Both wolves that stood there waiting were striking in their own ways. Oksana approached the border across from where they were standing with a friendly wag of her tail and a smile on her face, “Hello,” she greeted cheerfully, “What brings you to our borders?”

The Vuesain wasn't far from the borders when the call came through the crisp winter breeze, so the agouti leader took up a lope towards the origin wondering who was calling upon him. Having never heard the voice before, he wondered perhaps if it was a new member of either of the packs they affiliated with. Either way, he wasn't going to leave them waiting for much longer. There could be important news waiting for him.

As Aleister arrived, his ocean and sunshine gaze swept over those assembled. Noticing that neither stranger was familiar nor was their scent, he could conclude these wolves were most likely not from either the Backwater or Chasm. Running his nose along the path from the base her ear to her nose, before placing a kiss upon it, he then settled himself against the side of his mate as he waited for the duo to answer her question. 

 

Their wait for someone to answer her call wasn't long. A dark woman that was about the same size as herself was the one to arrive. She presented herself as friendly which put Avella a little at ease though she was still a little nervous. She gave Hagar a quick glance before turning back to the woman who'd greeted them and was asking what they were doing there.

Before she could answer an agouti man came up next to the woman. His clear show of affection did not go unnoticed but Avella disregarded it. "Hello," she greeted dipping her head respectfully, they were the out ranking wolves in this situation. Avella was an Archer, not a heathen. She knew the rules of conduct quite well. "I'm Avella Archer and this," she indicated her companion, "Is Hagar, we've come to introduce ourselves and I was hoping to meet your leader Aleister."

They were answered in short order by a pair of wolves who were clearly a wedded couple. Hagar did not speak up as the unknown woman greeted and asked after them, leaving the talking to his alpha. His gaze remained below everyone else's muzzle line, and only watched for signs of the interaction turning foul. It certainly was not something he was expecting, for to his knowledge they weren't here to ask for anything undue from this pack. Avella just wanted to share information, a proper courtesy to extend.

Chan couldn't help his curiosity as the unfamiliar voice sang across the Cove's portion of the forest. Having run into @Moore a month or so ago, he was aware of the possibility that this was an envoy of sorts from their new neighbors. When he caught up to the group, Oksana and Aleister were already present. He didn't recognize either of the other wolves and was further hopeful that they represented new blood come to the Lore.

His tail wagged through the air and he gave a toothy smile, a silent greeting so as not to interrupt whatever was already being discussed.

Oksana was soon joined by her husband in greeting the guests at their border. His arrival next to her was quite welcome since she was unfamiliar with how the cove handled such visitors. She returned his show of affection by brushing her muzzle along his and placing a kiss to his cheek. She then turned her attention back to the two strangers to await their answer to her question.

The woman introduced herself and the man she was with. She also stated that it was Aleister they had come to speak with. Chan's scent reached her telling her that he'd arrived.

Oksana glanced at Aleister before once again looking back to the pair. She wasn't sure if it was she that should speak or not so she chose to remain silent so that her mate could speak with the newcomers.

This also may be the new blood that Chan had talked to him about after meeting someone a few weeks ago and the male telling the scout of the possibility of a new pack within the willows. With the lighter coated female taking the lead with formalities, she greeted them with respect as she introduced themselves, her last name ringing a bell. Having been within the Lore for some of years, the Archer name was hard to forget. She then indicated that they were here to speak with him and knew him by first name basis already.

Perhaps this was the group that Chan was speaking to him about and just as his mind wandered to Chief of Outreach, his form found his way to his side as he joined the group. Oksana fell silent seemingly to give him to the stage as they didn't realize the Aleister they were looking for as already among them. "Pleased to meet you both. I am Aleister," he introduced before looking over to his counterparts. "And this is Chan, our Chief of Outreach and this is Oksana, my mate," he finished as his mismatched gaze looked to both of them before turning back towards the duo. "How can we help you?"

 

So far so good, Avella thought as she'd introduced herself and Hagar. She'd also explained why they had come to the cove borders. She had been preparing herself for this meeting all the way from the Willows. She wanted it to go very well so that her soon to be pack could have a good relationship with the cove wolves. She didn't remember if Willow Ridge had done that in the past. If it hadn't she wanted things to be different this time around.

As she was speaking another wolf had joined them which left her wondering if one of these men were the Aleister she was looking for. She didn't have to wonder long because the first man spoke up and introduced the three of them. Avella smiled as he did so, "It's my pleasure meet you all really," she returned. Then went on to explain how they could help her. "I've been putting together a pack in Willow Ridge. We aren't official just yet but I am hopjmg it will be soon. So I wanted to inform you of my plans but also to extend an offer of friendship between us."
