The dark one allowed himself to enjoy the last few hours of the afternoon as it faded, reclining upon a decently sized stone, which was warm from the sun, while absently gnawing on the head of a fish he’d snagged, earlier. Around him, he could hear the calls of various wildlife, the things that were beginning to wake up after winter dormancy, and above him, the clouds were putting on a display the likes of which he hadn’t seen before, and with the present backdrop, it was stunning.
This lake was flanked by thick forests and mountains, making it - in his opinion - something of a hidden gem. Even now, based on scents, the populations of other wolves were almost entirely absent. It would be easier to nestle a pack here and not worry too much about threats or territorial disputes, he thought - and it was not so far from the cove that there couldn’t be visits between them, fairly frequently.
Jethro still hoped to see more, but this was worth some thought, and discussion with Siyet, at least.
