Hagar
Random Event: Hagar, a gutsy wolverine is trying to make off with your prey!
AW but please let me post with Scully next, he had the same RE last check and I didn't use it.

After greeting @Avella and catching up with her alongside the others, Hagar had returned to his duties. In the hours that followed, he'd been lucky enough to successfully track and kill a hoary marmot. Standing over his prey, he'd taken a moment to tilt his face upward as the sun broke through the clouds to bathe him in its warmth. His eyes closed, and then there was a flurry of sound. They snapped back open to witness a wolverine inches from his paws, snatching up the fresh carcass and attempting to take off with in a whirlwind of hissing and kicked-up snow.

Hagar bared his fangs and let out an angry snarl, but otherwise allowed the monster to do so. He knew better than to tangle with such a vicious rival alone.

Scully Archer
Scully had heard the commotion after scenting the blood of felled prey, and was drawn like a moth to a flame. He just wanted to know what was going on, but when he drew close enough to recognize the animals in play, his intent readily shifted toward action.

"Hey! he shouted before breaking into a sprint. He whipped past Hagar and after the familiar shit-stain that had taken what he would assume to be his pack mate's kill. The explanation was carried back to the other on the wind.

"That's the asshole that stole my breakfast last week!"

Avella Archer
After speaking with Alarick Avella was in her way back through the territory. There were still some duties she wanted to take care of before settling down to rest. Though she wasn't as tired as she'd thought she'd be after her journey she had to stay in top health. She had a pack to look after and while she knew she could count on Scully she didn't think it was fair to keep pushing responsibilities on him.

Her movements were paused when she heard a lot of growling and snarling and hissing. She had to pause to figure out exactly what she was hearing but once she had. Well all thoughts of rest left her mind. Someone in her pack was in trouble and she needed to be there. The masked Archer raced toward the scene ready for anything.

However, when she finally found them,, Hagar and Scully she had to pause and gain her bearings. They were fighting a wolverine, Seriously? Avella didn't pause long jumping into the fray adding her own barks from behind the animal to get its attention.

Alarick
He was not used to hearing such commotion within the confines of the pack territory. At least, not commotion of this sort. For as long as Alarick had been here, things had been.. mostly calm and peaceful. But this was different, and not in a good sort of way.

Alarick advanced quickly toward the source of the noise, a proclamation from Scully echoing to his ears. Something about stealing food. Through the trees, he spotted the Archer siblings and Hagar squaring off with a wolverine.

He was no fighter, but he would also be remiss if he left his new packmates to deal with this alone. Al surged forth to join them, an incredibly rare, low growl rumbling within his chest.

Hagar
The rumble of Hagar's displeasure faded from the air as the rival scuttled away, but the sound of Scully's yelling swiftly took its place. His ears lifted and surprised eyes of jade watched as the other man whipped past him to take on the mustelid. That wasn't good, but thankfully others had also heard the commotion. He didn't hesitate to follow after the Archer sibling, intending to have his back.

Avella and Alarick both rushed after the wolverine as well, and hearing the mess of wolves after it the vicious animal dropped its kill and rounded. It bared sharp fangs hanging from jaws with the power to crush bone, and gave them a warning in the form of something crossed between a scream and a snarl.

Hagar showed his own lethal canines, tail stiff and level with his spine as he waited for one of the others to continue the lead.

Scully Archer
Scully was lucky to have three others at his back, ready to tangle with the wolverine at his whim. He didn't see it in the moment, he just saw a rival that needed to be exterminated hanging on to meat that belonged to the Ridge. The snarls at his flank only emboldened him. When it dropped the kill, he didn't fear the brash display. How hard could one weasel be to put down?

He took a step forward, and then another, testing the other predator's resolve. It did not back down, standing over it's stolen meal with a crazed look in it's black eyes. Scully showed his fangs and readied to strike.

Avella Archer
Alarick had joined them increasing their defense against the nasty tempered wolverine. She was worried one of them would get injured badly and they didn't have a healer. Though with the four of them she felt a little more confident they could deal with this intruder. The warning sound that it let out was new to the masked Archer of course she'd never tangled with one of these before.

She moved to a place behind it to prevent it from moving away from them any further. Like her brother her fangs were showing and a growl rumbled in her throat. It looked like Scully was poised to male the first move. Avella was ready to make one as soon as the opportunity presented itself. She didn't want to give the animal a chance to retaliate or realize what was happening.

Alarick
Though it faced four of them, the wolverine did not back down or turn away. While he was not a formally trained warrior or fighter, Alarick was aware enough of the threat a creature like this posed, despite its smaller stature. While concern for himself and the others was there, he forced himself to push that aside, surmising that something like this was similar enough in principle to hunting, that he could let instinct guide him.

Scully advanced on the creature first, so he took that moment to flank it as Avella also seemed to be doing. While she would prevent it from turning tail and fleeing, Al opted to circle around and then tentatively approach from one side to give the creature someone else to focus on, as well. Any hesitation or shift on its part might give Scully or one of the others an opening, he thought.

Hagar
The four of them effectively encircled the thief, and Hagar began to feel more confident about their ability to handle this as he saw the smaller creature's confidence buckle. His tail arched high above his back, signaling his attack the moment before it came. When the wolverine turned its back to him, he struck with his fangs and they sliced more easily through its hide than he had anticipated, puncturing down into the muscle. It shrieked and tried to turn back on him, but he released his grip and dodged away, making an opportunity for the next of his pack mates that wished to strike.

Scully Archer
Scully was eager to sink his teeth into the overgrown rat's familiar face. Hagar moved first, his speed seemingly unnatural when it stood in such stark contrast to how the wolf usually carried himself, slow and tranquil. The little beast wheeled round and tried to exact revenge, but shied with hesitation in the face of Scully's fangs, bared and ready to defend. Still, he knew better than to make a move now and go jaw-to-jaw with the rival animal. It was Avella or Alarick's turn to inflict some damage now.

If they didn't manage to take it down, he would be sure to grasp the next opportunity and finish the mustelid off for good.
