It was ironic, too, that the appearance of actual clouds in the sky brought him the first feeling of joy he had experienced in a while. Dark rain clouds had gathered overhead, and at last, graced the parched landscape with much-needed rain. And it was not just a passing storm. In the day it had taken him to travel here, the rain had not once let up.
It also provided him a needed opportunity to slip away, for a while. He had not explored very much of the mountains, and it was time to correct that. The forest nestled here was different from the willows, too, and a pleasant change of scenery. It was quiet and quaint, complete with a stream that, as many in the lore were at least for now, was once more flowing with clean water.
He could only pray that this was a sign of change. That the drought was coming to an end.
