Turtleback Lake conquer the percentages

Chan also chuckled along at Reika's jest, adding in "glad about that, for sure." They had all truly been lucky that Turtleback had been nearby when this all had struck them unawares. Any further out and they might have gotten stranded somewhere that by now would be all dried up like the forest's rivers.

He appreciated her assurance that @Colette was still about, as well. The longer she hung about, the more attempts he had to try and make staying with them an increasingly appealing option. With a nod he replied, "good."

Jethro likewise spoke up, continuing to prove far more sociable than he had been upon the mountain. Chan's tail wagged happily behind him, for such casual conversing likely meant they had nothing bad to report. Things were looking up despite the harsh heat. The only one missing was Gwen, and that was regrettable, but at least she was likely healthy and happy elsewhere rather than stolen from them.

Next Flair spoke up, offering up a group activity; a hunt. Chan grinned.

"That sounds perfect. We can bring back Fin some fresh meat and then we can all spend some time together munchin'."

He was ready if they were.

Good with this being Chan's last post, unless anyone wants to use this opportunity to speak to the group about anything in particular!

Reika was not only thankful to have found Turtleback but also the wolves that lived there. She and Colette had been living a pretty good life but having others around did make things better. She wondered where her friend might be but knew they'd catch up with each other later. It was also good to see Jethro again since she hadn't been able to connect with him recently and catch up.

She smiled amusedly at Jethro's comment finding it nit quite an accurate description of the man. She had found him to be pretty cheerful. Someone she'd definitely like to get to know better just like the others that were gathered.

Her gaze turned toward Flair when she suggested a group hunt. Silver eyed flicked toward Chan as ge spoke hisbopinion. "I agree a group hunt would be perfect and having that time after will help is get to know each other better".

Flair suggested a hunt next, which was a good idea. At least.. for those that could. Both Chan and Reika agreed with the proposal. The Eastfall continued to provide an example that Jethro studied and hoped to one day emulate.. if this plan worked out. While Reika surmised that such an activity would allow the group to get to know one another better.

That was a statement the dark one agreed with, for a couple of reasons. It would be beneficial to track something down to feed the group, but it would also be nice to continue bonding and connecting with those he was less familiar with. With a look between the others, Jet offered a nod. ”Sounds good t’me too. Ready when y’all are.”

It would’ve been nice to have Siyet and Reika’s friend with them, too - but, maybe, hopefully, next time.

The mother to be felt a slight pang of jealousy at the mention of a hunt, though she was thankful that Flair appeared to be sympathetic of her situation. While she knew there was no way that she could partake, in her birthpack she had been somewhat of a tracker and felt bad not contributing. Smiling gratefully at the new - maybe - couple she spoke softly, ”Thank you, I owe you.” How many of their resources was she going to be taking up when they weren’t even a real pack and she had nothing left to offer.

After the group made their plans and took off Finley had hoisted herself to her paws and meandered down for a drink. After soothing her dry throat she made her way to a shady spot nearby, keeping an eye out for any wolves returning from the hunt.

Her suggestion was greeted favorably by the other three, seen as a bonding activity as much as a chance to get some proper food; So much the better! Flair’s tail wagged approvingly, she wouldn’t mind the chance to talk more with Jethro and Reika, now that the ice had been broken. Finley’s response was more muted, but that was understandable – the russet woman herself did not look forwards to the time when she would be unable to participate in hunts too.   She gave the expectant mother another smile, half shrugging one shoulder; “Don’t worry ‘bout it.” After all, if she was going to join Jethro’s pack-to-be, there would be plenty of chance to pay the kindness forward. “We’ll bring what we find back ‘ere,” she assured Finley, before following the others into the kingswood, eager for what might be her last chance in a while, to hunt some proper prey.
