He'd gone too far. That was clear, and yet... what was the rush? Clouse had his whole life to backtrack. He was onto a different scent in this moment, and not at all plussed about following after it and putting the (in)famous mountain range further behind him. It led to disturbed earth, another animal having already beaten him to the punch. Apparently, it had not found the stowed contents worthwhile. Clouse, on the other hand, was quite pleased to breathe in the sour scent of fermented apples.
Bingo. He was far from unfamiliar with such indulgences, and found the only thing missing now was company with which to share the bounty. For not the first time since leaving home, Clouse found himself feeling a touch... lonely.
