RE: Someone has been here and gone, leaving strange tracks, scents and... a cake made of frozen fruits and meats?! Jackpot!
For @Galen <3

One of her siblings had been returned to her, and even though Di still missed her sisters her relief at Galen's return was overwhelming. He'd found his way home. That was enough, for now. She could be okay if Galen stuck around. Between him and Matos, she held out hope that Feyre and Star would also come home soon. Maybe they were just waiting for the snow to melt to find their way back. Di wouldn't want to fight through it, either.

Boldened by the boys' safe returns, Di ventured further from the den again. Everything might finally turn out to be okay. They would be fine.

Today she was following a new scent, something unfamiliar to her. Sometimes she'd see a strange track in the snow, only to accidentally bury it with her own clumsy steps before she could get a good look at it. The trail ended abruptly at a pile of... food! Good food too, it looked like, even if it wasn't fresh. Di's stomach rumbled, but she resisted the urge to tuck in right away. Something like this needed to be shared.

She spun on her heel and raced back towards the den. She had to hurry, before someone else found it! "Galeeeeen!" she shouted as she ran. "Galen, I found something!"

Tucked neatly between crisscrossed paws laid the remnants of a mule deer's antler that had acquired quite a profound collection of teeth marks in the past few days. Since his return, Galen had adopted a particular spot just outside the den to spend his time whenever he didn't find himself asleep during daylight hours. Twilight escapades under the glow of the moon were fun and all; and most preferred, but preventing unnecessary stress to the pack by wandering too far vastly outweighed what he wanted to do. For now.

Ivory canines gnawed contently at the bone between his paws while his swarthy pelt absorbed what warmth the sun could offer, golden gaze occasionally sweeping the general area as his packmates busied themselves with their day-to-day tasks. It was during one of these visual sweeps that his attention was caught by the blurred silhouette of his sister thundering toward the den before his ears pricked forward curiously in response to his name being shouted. What could Di have found?

Releasing his jaws from around a narrowed point on the antler Galen shifted his attention full-heartedly to his sibling. Admittedly she was a pain in his rump on occasion, but the young boy had missed the presence of his sisters and hoped those that remained adrift would soon find their way home as he had done.

"Well, you gotta show me now!" He spoke with the early workings of a grin spreading across his inky lips, rising onto all fours to give his pelt a shake once the infectious energy radiating off Di began to sink itself onto himself.
