RE: You find a fallen bird's nest with strange, glittering strands woven throughout it. A trail of this same tinsel leads out of sight...
For @Iseldir please! Early afternoon 1/29, sunny

The weather seemed to be warming, though Daegal wasn't sure he wanted to hope just yet. He remembered the last summer, how hot and dry it had been. He hadn't known better, until fall hit and water came, but he'd known his parents struggled with it. They'd called it a 'drought'. Would the melting snow bring another drought with it? What if this year, they couldn't make it? Maybe he could find some water now and then they could know how to get there.

He needed to do something good for his pack. This time, however, he knew better than to head out on his own - so he asked Izzy to come with him. He'd headed off without waiting for an answer, his question more a demand. They needed to find water.

shadow reveals what daylight obscures

Iseldir was more than ready to take up Daegal's mission, though today seemed to have more urgency than their previous treks and games. After his initial boisterous loping, nipping at Dae's ear, Izzy had fallen into a calm and even pace alongside his silvered counterpart. The two brothers set out into the still snowy landscape in search of water, something he recalled their sore need of over the summer months well enough.

As their paws beat a steady rhythm, Iseldir let his gaze wander up to the network of barren branches overhead. He recalled their play in the dried willow leaves that summer, marvelling at how it felt both so recent and so long ago. Things were more tense these days, or perhaps they were just more aware of it now.

Nipping at Daegal's ear once more, Iseldir let out a low whine. He did not like seeing his brother so serious all the time, even when they were doing serious work there was room to smile, to make the work lighter. With a bark he darted ahead, daring his brother to keep up with a wave of his tail.

He had run a fair few paces when he spotted it. Something shining through the underbrush. At first he wondered in his confusion if it was water, though he did not hear or smell anything. Coming to an abrupt halt, Izzy stepped closer to the strange, glittering apparition. "Daeg," he let out a low bark, more curious than cautious.
