I’m Done Putting Out The Fires You Start
The sun had just barely set when the clouds moved in, bringing darkness earlier than normal. Marrah was still lacking direction in her life, and as the winter came closer to the end and spring was approaching the yearling was not sure what to do. She was tempted to seek out Enera, but couldn’t bring herself to go back across the mountain and see what had become of their home. But she wanted to see her sister-friend. The Maceio-Tainn kind of hoped if she hung around the same area long enough that the paler wolf would eventually find her here.
So she moved slowly, staying in each place for weeks at a time before abandoning it for a territory that was only a few hours further away. She wasn’t even trying to hide where she had been as a smarter loner might be, she was practically yelling where she was. Today she was exploring a new part of the lagoon she had not seen before, but close to where she had been spending the nights. The water was shallower here and Marrah was hoping there might be a wet spot or two that she could fish through, but so far no luck. She would keep looking.
