She sung back!

He did not feel shy now as he leaned towards her, his tail thumped behind him too. His voice shifted and changed to compliment her own. That they might sing as two hunters! Let the mountain range hear their song. Let the prey and predators alike know that wolves had come to find peace among the Fold. Their harmony might scare off the scrappier of pests.

Yet he would let his voice fall into a hushed sort of way. Now his head turned, content to look at her sidelong with a fresh affection in his gaze. He was not so proud of a man as to hide such a thing!

Isomne Yvain
There was a joy in singing together, older than any tales or words. She leaned in too, lifting her note until it crooned up and faded to a release that echoed in the vale after she'd stilled her voice and returned her gaze to his.

Soon enough, Isomne knew the snows would cease. Winter would spin on into spring and summer, and her life would go on until one day, it did not. She had never allowed herself to be caught up in the the pull of the season before, always traveling. Any companionship had never presented the opportunity for more, or perhaps she had not sought it ought for herself. She'd always simply hide herself away until the need passed, sharing her own company and composing fiery sonnets.

This time she did allow herself to entertain such thoughts. With him at her side, perhaps it was not so easy to think clearly. But she was thinking, especially as she caught that look of his, her tail stirring as she felt a warmth rise to her cheeks. Thinking that perhaps, she should give this a chance and see where things might lead. Taken one step at a time, she might see what path the two of them could find before they parted. Her gaze trained back to his, finding no need of words to express herself in this moment to him.
