For Khalon, but also open to one other pup! RE: Rochus, a grasshopper jumps on your nose. Late morning

Rochus settled in beneath one of the empress trees, body stretched out and chin resting atop his forelegs. He huffed softly to himself, getting comfortable and ready to set in for a quick nap before the day dragged on further. The odd animal and insect noises were like white noise to him, familiar enough to not set off any warning bells in his mind.

At least until something suddenly landed on the very tip of his nose.

His eyes flashed open and he pulled his head up and back, lips raising to show his teeth in a silent snarl. At the sight of a grasshopper on his nose his mouth relaxed, going almost cross-eyed in the process of looking at it. Rochus exhaled sharply out of his nose and gave a quick shake of his muzzle, dislodging the bug so it fell onto the ground, appearing a little dazed.

Dead Empress Backwater XI. Yearling
Khalon Valle
Note for me, Khalon is about 9 weeks old here.

from charming to alarming in seconds

The Valle cub had been chasing after the grasshopper, catching it in his paws gently before releasing it to keep up the game. It was a lot of fun, plus it meant he could practice doing big hops as he imitated the small green bug. They were old enough to have more freedom, at least within the territory and Khalon was reveling in the independence. Especially since it meant he could avoid some of his more rough and tumble siblings, not that he was above violence but he had already been on the receiving end of sharp teeth a couple times and had not enjoyed the experience.

Giggling as the grasshopper jumped through some tall grass, the laughter stopped when Khalon burst through the grass himself and came almost face to face with a snarl. Back peddling for a second, the changing eyes landed back on the bug and all notice of the snarl was forgotten. He had no reason to think the adults would bite him like his sister would, and therefor had no reason to think the snarl was meant for him.

Sinking back down into a bow, Khalon leapt at the grasshopper which was back in the dirt a foot or so away from grandpa. He caught it gently back underneath his front paws, a gleeful grin on his tawny face.
