Sonnet
Sonnet is near the den but out of sight of it <3

Little ears twitched at the sounds that entered the den, little eyes blinked at the growing light within, and tiny paws stretched outwards. Sonnet lifted herself from the ground announcing, "I go", and without hesitation made her way outside. She plopped her butt firmly at the mouth of the den. Baby Blues peered up to the morning sky, watching the puffs, looking for the ball of light. Where had it gone? There was no bright today! Her brows squished together.

A butterfly crossed her field of vision and she was immediately drawn to it. Her nose followed the fluttering of its wings. She would have been content to stay near her family and watch the colorful creature. However, when it landed nearby, this prompted the child to stand up and tiptoe closer. Her head cocked to the side. Another step closer and it flew off a few feet before landing once more. Again she followed, and soon a game ensued between the child and her unfortunate playmate. Every time it landed she bounded forth, swiping with her paws in an attempt to catch it.

Sonnet kept this up for a few, giggling all the while,  but eventually grew bored. So she looked for the bright again. Where had it gone? She missed its warmth. The girl whimpered, looking left to right, and yet...only endless white puffs. Calmy she sat and tried to reason with its disappearance. The bright had to be somewhere, for the world wasn't dark. Quietly she pondered to herself, tail curled around her body.

Pan
The girl huffed a little, observing from her vantage point atop a (not) very tall boulder as her sister tried to chase after a... something. A small and very strange creature, colorful and intriguing, that fluttered silently through the air with both an odd randomness and mesmerizing grace to it.

Though she sort of wanted to chase it too, to be the one to catch it and bring it back to show their parents, Pan decided against doing that. She definitely did not want to follow the lead of her sister. No, not when she could find something better and hopefully more interesting all on her own! Instead she chose to turn to begin wandering a little in a different direction.

Sonnet
Sonnet's head was tipped back, baby blues watching the clouds. Bordeom was creeping in and the child glanced over her shoulder just in time to see her sister wandering off. She smiled, bounding back home to follow her. All thoughts of the butterfly and sun were lost to the girl. She didn't want to miss the opportunity to follow her sister around on an adventure. Tiny legs only carried her so fast as she made her way to Pan. Coming up from behind her she playfully chomped at her sister's tail, tugging on it lightly if successful. Her own stumpy tail wagged away.

Pan
Much to her dislike, however, she didn’t see anything in her immediate area that was nearly as interesting as whatever it was her sister had been chasing. At least, not until she started looking up. That bright golden light that had always been there during the daylight hours was not, today. Yet.. it was not night?

Humming softly to herself, Pan halted, continuing to observe. Instead, the light blue sky of the daylight hours was replaced by a dull, boring white. Or at least it would’ve been, had her tiny eyes not started to focus and pick out tiny details.

Unlike a clear sky, whatever this was.. didn’t look like one, uniform thing. Instead, it was many separate entities, puffs of various shapes and sizes, slowly floating from one end of the sky to the other. And the mountain she’d noticed before but never really seen, was almost close enough to touch some of them.

Her thoughts did not get to wander any further though, as there was a sudden yank on her tail. A squeak of surprise escaped the girl as she whipped around to see her sibling. ”You!” She squealed, half irritated at the interruption of her daydreaming.

A small child smile and a waving tail betrayed her however as the girl tried to lurch forth to get ahold of and tug at one of her sister’s ears. That would teach her!

Sonnet
The shrill shout of her sister was met with a babbling laugh, Sonnet teetering backward onto her rump. She got her good! The girl continued to giggle for a moment until she realized relation was coming. The small child was unable to avoid her sister's return attack and yipped as sharp puppy teeth met the sensitive skin of her ear. Letting out a puppy growl, she batted at Pan's face with her paw in hopes of freeing herself while also giving a good playful smack. She loved this! They were having fun, even without the bright sun! Not that she knew that's what her bright light was called.

Pan
It didn’t seem as if her sibling had been expecting a response of this sort, and partially to her own surprise, Pan succeeded in grasping one of her sister’s ears. However, the swell of satisfaction she felt was short-lived, as Sonnet let out a soft cry.

Having been introduced to the unpleasant sensation she’d come to know as pain recently, Pan worried she might’ve caused hurt. While she had been startled and seeking retaliation, she did not want to cause hurt. So she promptly let go, only to then receive a paw to the nose.

That caused her to fall backward much as Sonnet had mere moments ago, a snort that was somehow a mixture of pain, surprise, and laughter all escaping her.

Maybe spending time with sis wasn’t so bad.

Sonnet
Sonnet's ears pressed forward with a whine as her sister fell back, but as Pan laughed so did she. A small relief at knowing she hadn't hurt her sister washed over her. She bent down into a play bow and barked 'menacingly' at her littermate. Growling and stomping her paws all the while. Then Song turned to skedaddle away on stumpy little legs, "Can't Catch me!" she taunted, her tail high like a banner. She looked back over her shoulder with baby blues to see if she was being chased before disappearing into the woods. Surely her sister would follow!

Pan
As quickly as she could on still somewhat unsteady limbs, Pan attempted to right herself, spurred on by the pretend growls and play posturing of her sibling. The small girl prepared herself for another attack - and for how she would attempt to counter it, however.. puzzlingly, no such move was made.

Instead, Sonnet turned to run. Instinctively, she broke into the closest thing she could manage to a run, but followed only a dozen or so steps before slowing, a different sort of idea coming to mind.

She didn’t intend to let her sister get away, but she also didn’t want to play right into her paws by running after her, either. Rather than chase directly, Pan decided to try stealth. The child instead attempted to use the trees and forest as cover to follow more carefully, and hopefully without being seen. And after a few moments, hid herself behind a nearby tree, peering around it to try to catch a glimpse of her sibling.

Sonnet
Sonnet trotted onward on unsteady puppy limbs; a smile plastered on her face. Playing with her sister was so much fun! Pan was the best sister one could ask for! The pup giggled gleefully at the thought. Failing to realize that her sister had stopped chasing after her, she merely went forth, oblivious.

After a few minutes, tiny puppy paws came to a stop, and she huffed. She couldn't hear her littermate anymore, nor could she see her following behind. She barked in hopes of a reply. Silence. Song tilted her head and whined. Was she all alone? Her smile faded as she looked around for any indication that her sister was nearby. Nothing. Pan wouldn't leave her out here, right?

Sonnet took a few hesitant steps in a random direction. "Pan?" She called out nervously in a whisper-shout. As she walked she drew nearer and nearer to the tree Pan had hidden behind.

Pan
Her plan had worked flawlessly. Or at least it had, to this point. Just as she had desired, Sonnet had continued right along running for a time, leaving her to be able to advance much more cautiously without her sibling knowing where she was. There was a bark, and then a call of her name, confirming as much.

What Pan had not thought about though, was what she would do if that plan had worked. The moment she could see her sibling, drawing nearer to the tree she hid behind, Pan drew back, quieting her breath.

A sneak attack from behind was now not possible - Sonnet would see her if she tried to abandon her cover, so she settled on something else. Once it sounded like her sibling was close, Pan took a breath, and then jumped out in front of her sister, summoning the loudest, angriest, most threatening puppy growl in the history of all puppy growls everywhere in an attempt to scare her sibling.
