Sonnet
Sonnet, you've disturbed a flock of geese as they rest during their winter migration!

The smoke had come and gone, and so had her cold...so it seemed. At first, she'd begun feeling better and stronger, more awake. Then almost overnight her nose was clogged with snot. Thick white mucus that blocked her airways. Her cough had returned and with all the mucus she was a sneezing mess. Not only that, she got herself separated. First, she noticed her sister's disappearance, then the absence of her parents. She kept telling herself they were near and she just couldn't smell them. Even when the sun would set and rise again...with her alone. They were close. She just couldn't follow their trail. That's all. Anytime now @Pan would jump out to scare her!

Sonnet sat beside a tree as if waiting for that moment. Her sister had hidden behind one when they were smaller, back when the fold was safe. She missed the fold. She missed her family. She missed food. This was worse than when she'd gotten lost and near-trampled by deer. It was prolonged. Her da hadn't come to find her yet. She tried to stay close...she didn't like wandering away from them ever since that day. She hadn't meant to do this. Honest. The child blamed her nose and the dripping snot that seeped from her nostrils. Her family had to be close.

Little Song lifted up onto her paws and slowly walked in a randomly chosen direction. Perhaps her moving around in hopes of a meal was making the distance between herself and her family greater. She had to try though. She was so hungry, so thirsty. So weak. It came as a big surprise to her when she stepped on something feathery. A loud honk was met with her own squeal. She didn't take a moment to think, simply started running blindly. Her body cried out for her to rest but the sound of angry geese kept her going. "Da! Mommy! Help!"
