Nadine Daireann
give me your heart
and i'll give you my soul
to just feel a little piece of heaven

Nadine felt… she wasn’t certain as to what she felt. A frown formed on her features as she intently glanced around, keeping an eye out for Isla’s children should they wander into her path. She’d kept her head down as of late, searching for prey and keeping a tab on the borders. After her conversation with Chan, she’d ended up taking more to hunting, though in truth it had little to do with the man’s words. It had everything to do with the children, of staying close in case they needed protection or Isla needed backup with them…

A pause hung over the air. She was atop a rock that lingered in a break in the canopy, allowing the sun to stretch across her back with a gentleness she was no longer accustomed to. She wondered if perhaps she ought to scout more… perhaps she’d find Cyran, or her sister, or her mother… she couldn’t think of anything she wanted more.

Almost anything. It was a complicated feeling to linger in her chest as she began to truly reach the cusp of her emotional maturity… or at least so she thought.

Tin very much enjoyed independence. He wondered often after @Caiaphas when on his own, but his fear of missing out wasn't so strong as to hold him back; only minorly obsessive at times. Maybe all the time. Whatever.

Point was, here he walked, by himself, enjoying fresh air and making his own choices. He could do virtually anything he wanted right now, didn't have to take anyone else into account. Like, that river filtering in and out of view between the trees to his left. If there was like a cool crossing of a log or big stones, he could just cross it, without anyone saying 'that's too dangerous!' or going ahead of him or slowing him down.

Things Cai sometimes did. Was Cai by water too? The child began to wonder. He would cross with Tin, dangerous or not. He'd cross without Tin, dangerous or not. What if Cai's water did have a log, and Tin's never did? Was that son of a beaver crossing a log over water without him this very instant?

He stopped in his tracks at the thought, the solitude he thought still existed all around him affording him the luxury of not needing to mask such a reaction. His muzzle scrunched up as though he'd gotten a whiff of something fetid, and his widened eyes burned with an anger that a pup his age should not be familiar with. So disgruntled by his own imaginings, he was oblivious to the fact that he'd stopped directly within a familiar packmate's view.
