Miriam did not consider how it might have come across… her tone and the bubbling resentment that she felt brimming under the surface… and yet she pushed it down, continuing to wear such a cheery smile with cheery words. Was there really a point? Papa had always said that words were better said as honey than as carrion. She much preferred the former, and had taken his words near literally.
Her brows raised as he stated she could step into such a role now, her jaw opening lightly though it did not drop entirely as her eyes widened. “Really? You think I’m ready now?” She thought there would have to be some great trial, proving herself to the Gods, before they might give her such an important role… Paradise Falls truly was a paradise, and one that had yet to steer her wrong.
