O O C | Sounds good. :)

Something about the idea had him wrapped around it like how a ribcage enclosed a heart, something within him had been designed to protect this inkling of a prospective future. Someone to call his own, a pack that was his from the very start, his own territory, his own den… his own family… It overwhelmed him, but it was equally enthralling. Dizzying. Alluring.

Until her answer fluttered to his ears, his doubt had remained, though it was quickly dissolved by her next question. He wasn’t sure where exactly, but one response was easily graspable. ”Away from here,” he smiled only slightly unsettled by the idea of a home away from the mountain. ”Far away, in the forests and along the river... Somewhere where no one will find us.” One thing was for sure, if he was able to eke out a living before, he was sure he and Jayse could do the same, even more so. He wasn’t certain what had made him think that he wouldn’t survive on his own in the first place, under his own reign as an alpha or by his own agenda, but now, with her at his side, he was ready to take on the world.

In the next few weeks,” he then mused, also feeling uncomfortable about impulsively making a dash for the woods when the storm had blown over. ”Maybe after letting Alexander know or… after the next pack meeting or something.” He wrinkled his nose at the thought, dreading what the leader might say or think. He had served his few months as Alexander’s support; that was enough right? He had Amelie now, what more could he want? Weldering could easily fill his place; the two knew one another before the drought had hit, surely the black-socked wolf would be a more suiting beta than he when it came to advising and helping the leader out.

The key, he figured, would be patience. When the opportunity came for them to depart – hopefully on good terms with Midnight Plateau – they would begin their own lives apart from the wolves of the mountain and away from the wolves of the river… emerge as the wolves of the woods.

{Presto.}

ooc; wow we hit a third page

Something changed in him, she wasn't sure what, but he seemed different once he'd heard her answer. This was an enthrilling adventure neither had set upon, and he was not scared by the prospect. She smiled at his eagerness, had this always been something he had wanted to do, she wondered. Lightly chuckled at his answer. Any where from here, far away where no one would find them. She liked the sound of that. Start a home where they wanted to be. It wasn't hard to see why this coarse of action was appealing. She certainly had not thought of it, but what other choice did they have. "Sounds wonderful." She mused, tail gently beating the earthen floor. They would depend on each other, no one else. She knew she could count on him, and this time she felt she could be that for him. Something she had wanted to be.

Weeks, it calmed what troubled thoughts she had. She could wait weeks, and hopefully they would leave in good standings. The last thing she wanted to do was affend Alex, even if she hardly knew him. He had been kind enough to give her a home in the first place. Cran nodded in agreement, catching his sour look. She knew Borden had been loyal to him much longer, and would more so like to keep a good rep with the white leader. Maybe he'd understand, she could only hope. She knew the pack had a lot of good members, surely their parting would be no loss. Spring would arrive soon enough, and food would be plently. Postive, gotta think positive. If her head had been reeling it was much more now. Like her life hadn't began yet, it was just starting. But she never felt more certain about anything as she was him, and being by his side. She would follow him where ever he wanted to go."All right, you tell me when and we'll pray for the best." The female wolf smiled once more, because she could not stop from doing so. He had her heart and soul.

Lightly she nuzzled the creamhairs of his throat, and let out a heavy sigh. The day excitment had taken it's toll, and she could not hold off sleep much more. The storm brewing on, but next to him she could forget about the weather. How lucky she was to be here with him, it couldn't have been a better ending to this day. "Try, and sleep okay?" She manged to ask, hoping he would manage to get some shut eye, even after the turn of events. She only need to rest her head near him, when she drifted off into deep slumber. Unaware what waited for them.
