Stupid Rabbits! The thing zig and zagged in front of her, dodging left and right and she used her flag-like tail to do the same, following almost directly behind it. Her jaws snapped directly behind the things heels and she growled in frustration before pulling up short as the brown blur disappeared into its hole. Damnit! She sighed, panting heavily before turning and heading back towards the river where she lowered her head and began sipping at the water. The snow white female sipped it slowly so she didn't suddenly cool an overheated body.

She lifted her head, both of her over-large triangle ears twisting back and forth as it tried to listen to anything going on around them. When she didn't hear anything, she got to her feet and began trotting downriver towards Jasper Rocks. She had found the rocky outcroppings to be good for fishing. She reached the rocks and hopped up on them, her plumed tail flying in the wind behind her as she splayed her legs and looked beneath the rushing water. Here where the rocks broke the surface and created rapids.. it was too fast for the ice to form.. and a prime fishing spot.

He followed the stream, winding through the trees as though it would lead him somewhere important—somewhere mythical, like from a fairy tale. But these thoughts were mostly unconscious—or quick, briefly passing musings as he walked, before shifting his gaze to note the way the sunlight caught the frozen particles of snow on the tree limbs, or the way the white caught in the bark of the trees around him, making strange little shapes.

He saw a bush pushing up from the snow, and he saw the recent tracks of a rabbit trailing across the snow—long gone and unobtainable no matter his desperation. He slowed at the scent of another wolf, finding her perched on a rocky outcropping over the stream. Silently, he watched her, pausing some distance away, half veiled behind the wide base of a tree and aided further by his pallid coat.

With plumed tail flying above her back, Vlarindara hopped carefully from one slippery rock to the next before she was on the lowest against the water. It was here that she sat on her haunches and crouched over her front legs, leaning over the water and lowering her head until her nose almost touched the liquid. She stayed still like this for almost five minutes - the wind ruffling her fur and the water spraying her, flecking her coat with glistening drops. The still movement flashed out when she slammed both her front paws and her face into the rushing water, balancing her hind legs on the slick rock. In and out her nose went until she came up with a thrashing fish, held triumphantly above the water.

She hauled herself back up on to the rock and turned to return to solid land...where she slipped on the icy surface and went down, the fish escaping his early death and flopping back into the rushing waters. Drat! A low growl escaped the ivory female as she got back to her feet and returned to solid land where she shook herself - sending frozen drops of water in every direction. Double drat! Amber eyes looked longingly at the frozen river - but she didn't dare go back towards the water...She didn't want to end up like Raigo. The set of her large, triangle ears seemed disappointing, laying on either side of her head, but she shifted them and lifted her head to scent the wind.. Now .. where was she going to find her next hunt...
