When both the bear and the other wolf left, Vlarindara moved over to the injured and unconscious yearling in the snow with a sense of dread. What would she do.. if the young female wasn't able to be saved? It..would weigh on her conscience she knew.. to just turn her back on Makita.. She stood over the yearling and lowered her head, fighting through the thick metallic scent of blood before scenting at the females neck and face. She was still breathing.. albeit shallowly and labored - but breathing was a sign that the girl might just make it.. The white female lifted her head and looked around, pulling her lips back from her teeth so she could better scent the air - other animals would no doubt be drawn in by the scent of blood...She could stay here and defend the yearling..but leaving her in the snow was even worse for her health than leaving her alone.
Instinct warred with her maternal tendencies - the feral side of her told her.. 'She won't make it.. just leave her to let it run its course.' Another part said 'Bite her..she's unconscious and won't feel a thing - its better than lying there in a slow, painful death..' A soft whine escaped the wolfs muzzle as she trod around the injured canine, assessing the injuries and deciding for herself what chances she could give Makita. She couldn't Just LEAVE her... Nor could she bite her..take the choice away from the yearling. A sigh heaved from the large females frame before she lowered her head and fixed her teeth around an uninjured hank of Makita's neck fur. She couldn't lift her.. but she could pull her across the snow - use the natural cushioning of the ground covering to move her carefully.
The blood trail she'd leave would be a sure indicator of their path.. so she couldn't go back to the den with Raigo - but she *COULD* take her to a better defensible and warmer spot. That's just what she'd do - pull Makita into the dug out hole she had used when Raigo was sick and feed her.. get her as much shelter as possible. She might not be able to heal her - but she could provide her with shelter, protection, food and water for her to heal.
OOC: If there are no objections from Makita, Vlar would just keep pulling her along until she was in the hole thing. :) And.. providing there are no objections, we can maybe call this a wrap? Start another thread with her recuperating or whatever.
