Kauda Kokki

OOC: Figured I'd get a post for Triell, if you want to throw him in here. If not, then it's just your typical AW thread. :)

K
auda moved silently away from Swift River territory. The wolves were fierce and ferocious when threatened and, though Kauda was anything but a threat to the large wolves with her small size, she didn't want trouble. As she moved away, she realized she was heading towards Bramble Falls, a place she had only been once before. The rushing of the water began to ring and fill her ears from where she stood. This better be good. she thought, flicking her tail with excitement. The ebony she - wolf began to push herself across the land in a gentle lope. As she ran, the soft song of the water rang in her ears.

In the distance, the falls came into view.. and boy, was it absolutely gorgeous. The water gushed down tall falls, bubbling up white at the bottoms. The sound was marvelous as the water gushed down. Gosh, this is gorgeous. Kauda took a few paw steps forward, so she was close to the edge. She held her muzzle out above the falls, the cool air with the water wafting up to her chin. It was so peaceful. And then, of course, her past got a hold of her. Kanaii's death entered her mind. The fact that his body could be decaying somewhere inside the falls hurt her, and she immediately pulled away.

But it's so beautiful... her mind told her, but Kauda still cowered away from the water. It must've looked hilarious - a small, ebony she - wolf whimpering as she pulled away from the harmless waters where she stood. Her tail lowered and curled beneath her and she tossed herself away from the waters. If anyone was watching her, she would've been very embarassed. Fortunately, she was fairly sure she was alone. Her assumptions were wrong, though.

"Kanaii.." Kauda whimpered silently, glancing over her shoulder at the falls. Her spine stiffened and her hackles rose. Slowly, her tail uncurled and she became alert. The wind carried her the scent of another wolf.

There was a wanderlust in his blood, and mapping uncharted territory was a frequent time killer. Mostly he liked to stay in the grove, near the river. The snow banks were less sperse, and he hadn't left the lands since searching for Ruiko. A nice trip to the falls seemed in order, see how frozen it was there. He was always inclined to discover something new. This time he hoped no one was near drowning. Smiled briefly curved his dark features, to think of how he'd met Ozera. Now she was part of the pack-his family. She was getting much better now, maybe he would have to see if she'd be up for an outing. Shuffling his feet, cran held at a prominent level the steady roar of the falling water held his direction steady.

The black youngster drifted without much care. Triell could easily pass as a fully grown wolf. He was wider, and taller than medium, adult females. But he still rather a gangly teen, looking disportioned after a second look. Lacking the full muscle tone round his shoulders, and hips. His expression was boyish a dead give away, if he wasn't being serious. He had a few more months till his bones reached their limit, and maybe then he'd be a big as Indru and Ruiko. Compared to them he was fairly medium.

Just because he was bigger, bright yellow tinted orange eyes were on the sharp look out for danger. He could still be a target to a cougar, or wakening bear, and Triell would not be oblivous to the dangerous world he lived in. Nostrils quivered, testing his surroundings, and he was sure a girl had passed by her very shortly. He did not hear her whimpers or voice, but he saw black coat seeming to fear the water by backing away. Odd. She knew she wasn't alone, and puffed herself up. Warm tingle along his spine brought a ridge of hair straight up from skull to tail. It was a natural reaction, and his eyes narrowed. "I won't hurt you.." He said it with aver. If she attacked him that would be something else. He paused waiting to see if she'd scamper away or convert to talking.

Kauda Kokki

Slowly, Kauda let her head spin around. In front of her, several yards away, was a wolf that looked surprisingly like her. His coat was a dark and sleek onyx black - just like hers. The wolf was around her age, she could tell by his scent. In size, he was a bit taller and larger than herself. She found where they differed, though. While her eyes were a bright, electric blue, his were a bright, kneen yellow. Truthfully, she had never seen another wolf that looked so much like her. It was almost.. well, amusing, to her.

The wolf's fur bristled, as had hers. She didn't take it as a threat, as it was an instinctive reaction to most wolves. 'I won't hurt you.' the wolf's voice traveled through the air to ring in Kauda's ears, now perked up curiously. Trying not to look pusillanimous, Kauda let her head bob up and down in a short nod, her tail no longer tucked between her legs and her hackles beginning to lower just a tad.

"Me either." she called back simply. In the ebony she - wolf's train of thought, attacking or hurting the wolf that stood in front of her never occured - but instead taking caution and showing no fear as she spoke and moved. Curiosity striked at the edges of her thoughts and Kauda tilted her head slightly in thought. The water sung a sweet, though frightening to Kauda, lullabye in her ears as it rushed down the falls. Shouldn't you be frozen? she thought irritably to herself. Her eyes sparkled curiously as she waited for the black wolf's reply.

The girl seemed to think this over, staring him down and sizing him up. Black tail twitched at his hocks, and eyes blinked nonchalantly. He hadn't directly met another wolf with black pelt, except his mother, and put little into the thought. There were wolves of all shapes, sizes, and colors and they merely had the same. He was't use to being eyed such interest.

She countered she would not hurt him either, and a grin split against his maw. "I suppose not,"he stated, though his hair was still frizzed and bright eyes looked upon her cautiously. Large paws lingered toward the water, around it the snow had melted away. Walking closer, he looked behind him to the girl for one brief moment. Tail twitchin', head bowed down and he lapped up the brisk liquid.

Cirling round, he climbed a nearby stone and took a seat. Looking into the pool he his pointed down into the water. There were a three different schools trying to hide. Licking his lips, he turned back to the girl. "You waiting for someone?" He asked, wondering why she was just sitting here after all.

Kauda Kokki

OOC: Sorry for the short post.

Kauda's eyes were locked on the male, a cautiousness and weariness hidden (actually, quite visible) in them. Maybe it wasn't that big a deal that they both were black, both looked alike, but to Kauda, it was. In all of her thirteen months of life, she had not seen one other black wolf except for herself. That, to her, was what made her special. She was black, beautiful, and proud of it. But now, in front of her, stood a male that looked a lot like her. Just Kauda's way of thinking, though.

'I suppose not.' Pointless words. Kauda wouldn't have said them. She kept her mouth closed, watching him closely. Her ears hastily swiveled back to the water, crashing down onto rocks below the falls. Trying not to show her fear, she lifted her head slightly, blinking, waiting for his next words (if there were any). If he said nothing, she would simply leave. She had no ties with the wolf in front of her.

'You waiting for someone?' The words rang through the air as he spoke over the lull of the water falling. Kauda nearly snorted. "Who is there to wait for here?" her eyes stared at the ground at the male's paws. "I guess I'm just exploring." she paused, glancing up. "What about you?"

ooc;don't worry.
The wolf's eyes never seemed to leave him, and he was a bit distrubed by her scrutiny. He'd never felt such prying eyes, so cautious on him. Surely there had to be a reason why she was sitting here. He was sitting here because he had mind to fish. It was rather awkard with someone staring at him. "I wouldn't know," he replied not seeing the reason for snorting 'bout it. He hadn't the faintest idea who she was, nor where she came from. He only knew he'd never seen before, and she couldn't have come from Swift River.

He a pup going on yearling found it odd for her to be on her own. But maybe it was just Triell was lucky enough to have guardians, and caregivers. Wolves who worried about him. Not everyone in life could be as fortunute. She replied with a better answer, and took it in. "I guess, I like to explore. Right now I want to try to fish. You want to help or does the water scare you?" Dark brows arched over his eyes, and there was a trace of a grin against his black muzzle. Surely she wasn't afraid of the water.

Kauda Kokki

OOC: Got an extreme amount of muse today that just dropped out of the sky. Be jealous. :D

Kauda shook her head, her eyes moving to stare at her paws. She figured it was probably a little awkward after he shifted uncomfortably. Her ears swiveled around to listen to his words, which really didn't make Kauda excited. Obviously, they were both weary of each other and not caring enough to say a whole lot. There was sort of an awkward vibe that hung into the air. 'I wouldn't know.' Of course you wouldn't. she thought, her kneen blue eyes moving to glance around at the area. It would be beautiful.. that was if there weren't the horrendus water rushing so quickly and disturbingly through Kauda's ears, making her shutter irritably.

'I guess, I like to explore. Right now I want to try to fish. You want to help or does the water scare you?' the young black wolf added, a teasing tone in his voice at the end. She let a chuckle escape her. If you only knew.. Wow, that was convinent. The wolf had come here to come and play in the water, while Kauda happened to stumble across it and was cowering away from the usually harmless clear liquid. "Uhh.." Kauda twisted her agile, slender black body so that she was facing the waters. Carefully, she took a cautious step towards the water. The gushing sound of water stung her ears, making her eyes fall shut and her hackles rise. It was like the scream of a little girl scared a human out of it's thin skin. Except for the fact that many wolves weren't scared of water. Another step carried her sleek, dark black body closer to the edge of the falls. The sight... oh, the sight. It would've been beautiful, but the fact that Kauda knew that Kanaii's body could be resting in the bed of these terrifying falls made her cringe and cower. Cowering slightly, Kauda reached her muzzle out over the water, her eyes peering down.

That usually breathtaking sight was what made her turn away. She swiveled around and pushed herself away from it. Instead of standing close to the edges as the younger was doing, she stayed quite a big distance away, staring at the water like it was the devil (the thing that Kiche spoke of!). "Well, yea, I sort of am." she muttered. The wolf had definitely taken a step out on thin ice with that little smart remark, considering she really was scared of it. "Watch a wolf that you love with all your heart die in it. Then tell me what you think." she added, trying to add a little humor to her voice as she stared at the water.

He hadn't realized she really was scared of the water. It was a forgein feeling to him. Then Triell couldn't think of much that did scare him but his loved ones getting hurt. Luckily something he didn't encounter a lot to be feel fear. He had it in him not to let such a thing control him. He was a rather fearless lad, ready to take the world on. Peculiarly he watched her changing movements close to the water, but all so wary of it. He could see trying to overcome fear, but there was no need for her to torment herself. She had nothing to prove to him.

His postion unchanged, wondering if she would step in it and he'd yet have to retrieve another wolf out of the pool. She veered away from it, and he let release a loose breath. He wasn't up for being a rescuer. He just wanted to fish.

Finally she answered him, and he gave her a thougthful look with his orange eyes. The black lad thoroughly thought over what she had said. His brows puckered with slight sorrow, and his muzzle no more was there a grin. He wasn't sure about saying he was sorry, or really what to reply to such a thing. Took in a cool breath, looking at the tumbling rush. "I suppose it might change my outlook, but I think it more reason to not let the water conquer me."He ushered forth a tone of indifference. He was sad her companion had drowned, least she had witnessed. But what good till saying he was sorry for her loss do?

Kauda Kokki

Kauda didn't regret her words. She didn't want to have said them either. Every single time that she had to bring up her family, which seemed to be a huge obstacle in her life, memories came flooding back into her mind. They were memories of when she was young and had small, agile black paws and was surrounded by the ones she loved. They were memories of her, Kanaii, and Makita's first hunt when they were three or four months old. They were memories of all Kauda's marvelous times spent with her best friend, Akita Dashameer. But, they were also bad memories. Memories of waking up without her parents at her side. Memories of the hectic mess it was for the traumatized pups. Memories of the storm coming and sweeping Makita up in it's depths. Memories of holding Kanaii and him holding her as they cried. Memories of traveling alone and nearly dying many times. Memories of sipping at the river with Akita and turning to find Kanaii gone, the only traces left were a few gurgling sounds and bubbles. Memories of Akita disappearing. Most of all, memories of feeling so alone. Speaking of it was hard for the ebony black wolf.

The female's bright blue eyes remained glued to the water though, trying not to show her fear of it. It didn't matter, though. The other knew she was scared of it already and Kauda didn't mind. It was something that made her unique, she supposed. A weird fear. As the water rushed noisily around quite a few yards ahead of her, she wanted nothing to do with it. Truthfully, she had never been a fisher or a swimmer or... well, she often found herself drinking from puddles. But, she did appreciate the male's offer and tried to show it. Suddenly, her ears perked and the other spoke once more. "I suppose it might change my outlook, but I think it more reason to not let the water conquer me."

Kauda was glad that he didn't say 'I'm sorry' or 'Get over it' or something along those lines. She would've had nothing to say back and truthfully it wouldn't have helped her at all. But, she did try to think of these words for a moment. The water had never conquered her has it? I'm tough, though! Kauda thought to herself, keeping her eyebrows from creasing. She often thought like her sister, wanting to be the best she could be, never fail, and be super tough and do everything. But, just like her sister, she was just a girl. The water.. hasn't.. conquered me? she tried to tell herself mentally. Unfortunately, she knew that it had.

Carefully, Kauda pushed herself off of the ground with strong, agile black legs. She shot a sideways glance to the male, narrowing her blue eyes slightly, and then glared at the water. The ebony female didn't dare get too close - it might hurt her! But, maybe the other was right. Maybe she should conquer the water before it conquers her. "Uhh... yeah, I guess." Kauda mumbled, letting a simple not of her head show she meant it. "Urhh.. you can call me Kauda."

Triell turned his eyes upon the water nothing more to say, and not wanting to gawk at the girl. If she was scared of the water it was not in his power to change it any more than thunderstorms gripping remorse placed upon him. Black triangle points rested back on his head, and he tucked his tail round his hindlegs. He watched a little intriuged by her sudden awareness that water did have control over her, like suddenly she didn't like the idea. Front paws shifted, hoping she wouldn't jump in or something crazy. If she was scared now, he could only imagine if she got in there. He rather not try and rescue her, a possibility of both their demise.

"I'm Triell," he replied, not sharing his last name either. Nor the fact where he came from. He wasn't sure how much he wanted to share about himself, and didn't feel too friendly in this dreary setting. He was here to fish, and was rather ready to do just that. Walking he slowly entered the shallows, and froze while the fish launched themselves all around. He waited patiently, staring down past his reflection for them to calm.
