There was a suttle change hiding beneath the pale coat. An onlooker would never know the secret within, that's just what it was. Small secrets, the first beginings of life to little for anyone but her to notice. Life had yet to stir, it was clear inside something had changed. If everything went well, she would be a mother in next months to come. The female was overpowed by wonder, and gratitude. Mostly a pure joy, marveling at how there was new life awakening in her. It was a secret she was holding onto, part of her was filled with haste in sharing this with Borden. He would surely be blissfully happy by the news. The dark cloud of what it hung over her head. What if something went amiss, instead of one grieving wolf of tragedy there would be two. Instead the simplicity of acting like life had never been. She held onto these thoughts, turning them round and round, weighing one over the other. And that's when she made her temporary escape. She had not seen the lands to the south and was inclined to take a look. She had to know what was beyond the forest potentienal dangers for her coming offspring, or safe places to take them exploring.

Alone at the time, she made a coarse straight into the Thicket of Secrets. She had it her head where she'd been before, where the glade was, the question was it was if there was something beyond this. Was there an open area like in the forest? Did it go on forever. Observant, she did best to remember unique landmarks, her walk fast driven.

In the air was a rising comotion, and the wind started to blow stronger. A rainstorm was on the horizon, the clouds were not ominous black, not yet. Nose wrinkled, she could sense the difference, she was tempted to go a little farther. If she needed she could find a bivouac in the thicket any time. Confident she drifted onward, the air degree by degree becoming colder. It did not detour her, and much patience she made it to Blackberry Fields. It was a much more open territory, and her sides rose and fell puffing. She had a happy smile, but she did not tear into the open. She stood at the edge of the thicket with watchful eyes. Once her own breaths calmed she sat down. The wind whipped long the bushes, and brought her the scent of deer.

Kanaii Kokki
OOC: Love the new table! <3

The day was warm - warmer, anyway. Somewhere along the boarders of the Blackberry Fields, a massive white wolf prowled cautiously. Kanaii's white winter coat was still very thick, as it usually was. He got it from his Arctic Wolf mother, Tracenda Kokki. Bright yellow eyes searched the area in front of him, alert white ears flicking one way or another at the scurry of a nearby creature or a gust of wind.

Kanaii had hated wind ever since he was five months old, just like all the other Kokki pups. He remembered the terrible day all too well, as did Makita and Kauda, his cousin's who could quite possibly be dead and rotting in the ground. It had been windy, really windy, and stormy too. Kauda and Makita had been sitting with him in their parent's den, even though their parent's were long gone. Makita had strayed away and journeyed out of the den. Before Kauda or Kanaii could stop her, a huge grey twisting thing of wind dropped from the sky and swept Makita up and took her right away from them. Mainly, Kanaii remembered crying into Kauda's shoulder as she did to his.

That was one thing that silenced the massive yearling, but only one thing. Shortly after Makita was taken away, Kauda, Kanaii, and one of Kauda's friends, Akita Dashameer, set out to find the young tawny pup. Surviving on their own had been so hard... It was a good thing there were three of them, because that's what it took for them to take down a rabbit or a squirrel (as they were very unexperienced). One day, Kauda and Akita had been sipping from a fast flowing stream. Kanaii leaned in to get a good few laps of water with his tongue when his paws slipped on the slippery rocks. He remembered so well plummeting into the water and howling helplessly, though no sound came out as he was dunked under the water. The he had only survived because his muzzle barely floated at the top of the water. He remembered so well crawling helplessly out of the water, trying so hard to survive on his own. That was what silenced him, what caused him to become so sad and depressing.

Kanaii's head whipped around as the smell of deer darted past him with the blowing wind, which he had found himself snapping and growling at many times before. The young white wolf's keen yellow eyes followed the place in which the scent had come from, but he paused. His nose picked up another scent, though the wind wasn't in his favour. Silently, he let his tail rise slightly and his hackles raise a bit as he peered around. In a brief moment, he had spotted the wolf he had sensed, an average sized white female. Kanaii's eyes narrowed, but maybe if he was lucky she would help him hunt the nearby deer.

OOC: thanks :)

The deer had yet to come in sight, she was sure it was nibbling at the dainty bushes around. She was happy to observe this different part of the world, happily going on like nothing. Thoughts a hold of her mind she was going over her options, thinking of the future. All the what if's in her life. The field was very pretty, and curious what the bushes were she walked stiffly amongst them. Some had the remains of shriveled fruit, and her leathery nose inhaled this new scent. She was no tempted to taste the blackberries. She'd eaten wild strawberries before, but they fruit was better when new. This was ruined by the cold, and nibbled on by prey. It was clear many of the bushes were trying to bud, wanting to start fresh. In awhile it would be a good excuse to return, see what they may taste like.

She contiuned walking among the scattered rows. Deciding she would just maybe bring her children her some day. It would be a nice safe place to roam. They could watch deer, and rabbit from a distance. They could play in the open field. A faint smile, she shook her head. She was trying so hard not to picture things working out, but her efforts weren't very good. Shew wanted to be a mother.

Silver fog slowly started in with the gray clouds. The wind was still blowing, but not as harsh. She glanced upward, a faint, wet drop catching on her nose. It was trying to rain. She didn't mind. Brining her head down she could see the faint silhouette of a deer. She froze in her standstill, watching as it looked her way for a long time. It did not seem to realize what she was for it soon turned it's head, walking away. Ears twisted back on her cran, she tucked her head and too continued her slow pace. It occured to her another wolf, a male was out in the field as well. She found the creamy form looking at her with a thin gaze. Had she spoiled his shot? She wasn't sure, but she did not move any further.

Kanaii Kokki

Kanaii raised his hackles only a little and kept his mouth closed, revealing no experienced ivory fangs. The female was smaller than him - not a shock, he was larger than most wolves despite his young age. She had stopped when her eyes, one colored blue and one colored yellow, spied the massive white wolf in the distance. That alone proved she was not a threat, which was good because Kanaii didn't feel like fighting.

Carefully, Kanaii took a few alert white steps. His massive white paws beat against the Earth and his bright, keen yellow eyes trailed up over head. The clouds were grey, preparing to let rain fall as they draped across the sky. It was almost depressing, but Kanaii had seen and experienced sadder things than upcoming rain. As his eyes fell back down to see the deer a bit away from the two wolves, his head shot to glance at the female.

Kanaii could without a doubt kill that deer with the help of the female. Even with his massive size, he most likely couldn't kill the deer alone. Letting his shaggy white head rise a little, he tossing his head sideways, gesturing towards the deer. It was sort of an offer to hunt it with him. Of course, Kanaii wasn't going to speak. He never did, never planned on it. After he nearly died, he was silenced and words became scarcer as life became harder. To some, it was utterly antagonizing. To Kanaii, it was just peacefull.

The massive wolf dropped into a crouch and took a pawstep forward, glancing at the female to see if she would follow. If she did, they would have theirselves quite a nice meal. If not, then Kanaii would probably try to go for it anyway and injure it enough for it become limp while he killed it. Either way would work fine for him.

The blond male lingered closer, and she stood like a pale statue observing him. There were no words spoken, and she could feel more tiny raindrops falling on her coat. A moment of uncertainty, worry entered her mind. She stood tall, deciding either way she was going to stand her ground figure out what he wanted. He took a glance to the heavens, and where the deer had gone. Was he coming to ask for help? Maybe, eyes shifted once not to give him a full on dead stare. She was trying to keep an open, but firm stance. He was larger than her, but size wasn't everything.

The distance shrunk he made a silent gesture to the deer. Her assumptions had been right, but she wasn't sure about helping him. She doubted she would injure herself, but she had to be careful now. Nothing was worth risking her unborn children. Chin tucked down, and her tail swayed while she pondered. He could be baiting her into something else, but after a low sigh she stepped forward. "Alright, I'll help you,"she whispered. Perhaps she had a soft spot for those who could not easily fill their bellies.

Silently she stretched her petite form, shrinking to the ground. Long legs pulled out from under her slowly and she followed the creamy male into the fog where the deer awaited. .

Kanaii Kokki
OOC: Short post.

Kanaii stood, watching the female with keen yellow eyes, patiently waiting for a response to his offer for help to catch the deer. His young mind did not know that she was awaiting pups, which is probably why it took so long for her to respond. Finally, however, the determined white female stepped forward with a sigh. "Alright, I'll help you." she whispered, though the words were easily brought to Kanaii's ears.

Despite the rain, Kanaii was pretty satisfied. He might just have himself a deer afterwards, and a full stomach. He gave a little smile to the female and then turned his head to stare through the rain that had started as a drizzle but slowly began to come on stronger. Kanaii had always hated rain, always hated water, and always hated storms. By the looks of it, he was gunna get all three in a short period of time.

Kanaii took a couple steps forward, lowering his head to the ground to sniff out where the deer had gone. He was grateful that the female was helping him, but that didn't mean he was going to depend on her for everything. It was likely the female didn't even want to help him, so Kanaii would try to stay independent, easy. Kanaii's claws flexed with excitement, hunting always got him excited. His tail, however, remained straight out, showing that he was ready to hunt. Letting his pink tongue roll across his sharp, experienced white fangs, he took another determined step forward. Let's do this.

While he chose a path, she chose one independent of his. The rain was a no longer a faint, but coming as a drizzle. It was hindering her sight, and she trusted her strong sense of smell to guide her to the deer. Creeping long the rows of bushes, slow yet long strides she crept along. Up and to the right the deer was standing taking perhaps one more nibble of the decaying berries. Head titled round searching for the cream shape. Once she spotted him her eyes did the talking staring, and giving off a couple slow blinks before swaying back to the deer's location.

Energy carried in her nimble paws, and she crouched lower to the ground making herself smaller. She waited wondering what his stragety was. She rather be a driver than an attacker. The deer cast a look to the horizon but Jayse doubted it could see her any better. In the fog the two wolves of pale pelts blended with the silver air, the sheer coat of falling water. The wind was no longer blowing, the storm was here to stay.

The male was close, she breathed, "I'll scare her this way, you can hopefully grab her." She waited a second for his answer, but it made the most sense to her. He was larger, and Jayse could help bring down the deer if he managed to wound or catch it first.

No longer hesitant, but going to hunting mode she took her time going round behind the deer. It seemed to take forever, each movement she made precise. Sooner or later she managed to sneak up behind the cloven hoofed. The deer had taken a steps already in the cream male's direction, the rows of bush would help. All she had to do was bark and drive it further. Clenching her jaws, the muscles in her haunches twitched. In a flash she sprang forth from her cover ushering a fierce bark. Just like that the deer bounded even closer to it's hidden enemy.

Good, good. thought Kanaii to himself as his alert white ears swiveled to hear the female's plan for killing the deer. "I'll scare her this way, you can hopefully grab her." Haha. Like he wouldn't catch it. The words striked him as almost offensive, though that was just how Kanaii was; competitive, though he doesn't much show it. His father, Aadte's disappointment in him always made the massive wolf try harder than anyone else at everything he does. Maybe it was why he was so successful.

Letting his head bob up and down in a short nod once, his eyes moved to stare in front of him, alert and ready. His massive white body shrunk down into a hunting crouch, his keen yellow eyes narrowing, focus obvious in his gaze. With each silent step, he became more hidden in the thick layer of undergrowth, until he could go no further without revealing himself to the deer and let himself fall still. Muscles tense, lip curled up over experienced white fangs, he listened carefully for his que.

Just as soon as I hear her, I'll go. he told himself mentally. Kanaii always planned out things before he did them. It helped him sort out what was good and what was just balderdash, plain out stupid and unsuccessful. His thoughts were interrupted when a fierce growl came from another wolf, the female. Already tensed and drew back to jump, Kanaii pushed himself off the ground with massive, powerful back legs. I've always wanted to fly. he thought, though didn't care to chuckle as he was airborne. He was surprised to find the deer just about right under him. The female had scared it farther towards him than he thought, and he just about missed the deer as he came down. Fortunetely, his claws gripped onto it's hindquarters and sunk themselves in immediately.

With the weight of the massive wolf on the deer's back, she fell immediately and Kanaii took advantage of it. He reached foward, getting a better grip on the deer, and sunk his teeth into it's back, aiming to break it's spine. Thoughtfully, he left room for the female to get in on the action. The thrill of the hunt made Kanaii's heart pound excitedly. He wouldn't be hungry for a while, not now.

OOC:sorry kat I have to many posts, and was struggling how to reply. :/ oh and i wanted to tell you. if you use the word of the day put a { word} [/word ] around it so it goes green. :)

Jaysyek was sure the male would be able to get the target, there was always the possibiltiy things didn't go according to plan one had to account for. He could be ready to grab the deer, but if the deer went a different way, or struck him anything could happen. After her vociferate her long limbs loped behind the deer, keeping her an even yard behind. She would not take a bite, or get near until the male had done his part. If everything worked out, if not she would give her appologies and settle in the thicket out of the rain.

First it seemed the male had missed his cue, but a cream form came jumping out, landing heavily on the deer's hindquarters. Jayse had to stop not to collide with into the tussle, and soon fall of the deer. Kanaii was doing a good job holding the creature down, but it still was ailve struggling despite it's spinal injuries. Watching for striking hooves she drew up close to the deer's side, and up to her neck. There was crimson flowing from her back, and her limbs were stuck under her. Knowing what she needed to do, she grabbed for the delicate throat and clamped down. The deer twitched, and once tried to stand. It did not suceed. Blood leeked into her mouth, and the deer no longer fought. She released her tight grip, and licker her lips once. She looked to the quiet soul, wondering why he was so, but did not ask. "Eat up," she said as she saw no reason why they both couldn't take a bite at their kill.

OOC: Short post. No muse today. Thanks for the advice by the way! :D I always wondered how it went green.

Kanaii felt the blood begin to trickle into his mouth and down his throat. Mmmmm. With the deer's spine injured, it could no longer go anywhere and the massive wolf could feel the life flow from it's body into his mouth. Keen yellow eyes flickered over to see the other white female grab it's neck, chomping down hard. It was when the deer was finally dead that he let go.

"Eat up." the female ordered once Kanaii glanced over to watch her. If it weren't for those words, he would've gestured towards the deer for her to take the first bite. But, the female told him to eat up. Kanaii shifted himself to where he could access the deer's side without trouble. Without hesitation, he dug his teeth into the deer's side and began to feast.

Kanaii loved the taste of deer. It had been so long since he'd had it, since he didn't really work with anybody but himself. The massive white yearling was careful to leave room for the female to dig in too. Wordlessly, he enjoyed his meal. Yum.

Fortunately (or was it unfortunately?), the two's partnership was over. After Kanaii dug in and took his share of the deer, which was very delicious, he took a step back, leaving the rest for the female. Wordlessly, he nodded his head respectfully to the female. Time to go. He let a little smile touch his lips and then turned to disappear into the forest, his belly now full.
