Raigo Akreon

What happened next was curious, and Raigo couldn't help but feel somewhat intruding. The lighter colored female entered the water in the shallows, the beginnings of a bath to clear the grime that had accumulated on her coat. But she seemed nice enough, telling him that despite his feelings, he was welcome to stay. Grinning, his tail waved at his ankles. Skylah, she had a pretty name, and he had to say, he liked it, a lot. Her teasing made him avert his eyes, and he batted a paw, shielding her from view. So caught up was he in the jokes, that he almost missed the one interesting piece of information that she revealed, that the darker furred female, the one chewing on something, was in fact his pack mate. Internally congratulating himself for being observant, he perked up as she spoke, confirming that she was indeed Elettra, his fellow second-in-command. With some pangs in his gut, he remembered the previous female who had filled that rank...Vlar, his sister. She had refused to come home with him, and he grunted to himself in mild frustration. She was being silly, but she was stubborn, a trait he had recognized long ago. There was no good arguing with her over something she felt strongly about, and apparently not returning to Grizzly Hollow for the time being was part of it. "Well it's nice to meet you both, finally," he returned politely, the latter part of his comment directed towards Elettra.

Padding forward, he paused at the water's edge, two front paws threatening to slip into the cool water. Skylah's body was not particularly gorgeous at this moment in time, in fact, it seemed to be rather...scarred. There was some blood in there, even if he couldn't necessarily see it, Raigo's coal black nose could smell it easily enough. He couldn't hear clearly what Elettra was saying, but it sounded rather direction like. Settling down to his haunches, the youth studied the pair. "Is there anything I can do to help?" He had absolutely no experience in healing matters, and his presence would probably be more of a hindrance than a help, but he wanted to offer what he could.

Lips cracked the tiniest of smiles to the young male's reaction, pleased even after all that happened she could still manage a good tease. Or just maybe meeting someone as good nature as Raigo was a nice treat. She had spent to long on the mountain, had she almost forgotten what it was like getting to know a stranger? She dismissed the thought, surprised the two weren't on different terms, and yet it wasn't like she saw much of her own pack mates, or former any way. Somehow she believed Elettra stayed very busy, or was too serious to hang out much with the younger of the trio and this ended her own wandering thoughts. Returning to her work, she poured more water over herself, dark water dripping from her coppery coat. Brows tucked together, as she listened to their comments, she started to lick where the mud disappeared. She smiled kindly to the lad, thinking it too was nice to meet the wolves of Grizzly Hollow.

Upon Elettra's suggestion, eyes slowly blinked, and she nodded acknowledging what she said. Sell she had wanted to do just that but hadn't been sure. Since Elettra was encouraging her she looked below the surface, checking for rocks, and than carefully managed to kneel, than lay in the creek. The cold water pelted at her throat, stealing her breath for a moment. Soon enough the rush brought relief, and she let out a pleasant sigh. Raigo inquired if he might help, and her head dipped in his direction. "Is my back underwater all the way?" She asked, deciding he could be of help to let her know if she needed to settle in deeper. She wasn't sure what was wet other than her legs, shoulders, and hips. She was sure she could use a whole dip if she was ever to get clean again.

After more instruction she checked to make sure the water ran clear, and she was thoroughly soaked. She took moment to breath in the quiet, until the slow tingles in her paws told her it was probably time to get out any way. Quick as she could she pushed up, and hobbled to the dry bank. The blood and mud were gone, and her coat was finally it's beautiful shade of copper, grays, and creams. The river, though, could not wash away the long gouges, and she shook once like the lady had said, than awaited for what came next. But while she stood their, eyes found their way to the young gentleman once more. There was something about his name, like she'd heard it before as it had a unique ring to it. Slowly it came back to her the large, white lady who had been looking for her brother. "I hope you sister has found you," she stated, hoping not to be to bold with her words, but wanting to know if the pair had united.

Having finished chewing up the burdock, she had settled it into a pile, laying it upon the water's bank where it may soak a little on the moist ground. Although she noticed, she paid little attention to the flirty nature which Raigo showed, shielding his eyes from the bathing woman. Elettra herself held back the snort, for she was far from a flirt and found herself stand-offish when it came to sexual affection. Often did the woman even roam off when she went into heat, not wishing to be drawn by the emotion of lust and longing need to reproduce. She had never been the motherly type, after all. Little thus far had shown interest in the rougher woman, anyhow, granted there were many other wolves easily enough to consider porcelain dolls, thus, a better choice. Her attention (having ignored them for a moment as they seemed more interested in one another) went back to the young man once he spoke, mentioning it was good to have finally met her, and she responded to this with a small nod of her crown. Elettra, watching as Skylah took a moment to lower fully into the water and wash up, too a few laps of water herself, sitting now as she awaited the process of finishing. A small frown caught the woman, knowing that Skylah, in her state (and for who knows how long she was laying there at the base of the mountain) would not be able to hunt for herself and probably was in need for a meal of some kind. Ears of silky black perking, remembering the man's offer to help, she averted her attention to Raigo once more. "Might you hunt for her? She may need to regain her strengths." Pale gray gaze then turned to the woman, wondering if she was alright with this. After all, with such injured shoulders and haunches, the wounds hindered both her front and hind legs- a swift run would be nearly impossible. It would save so much more time if Raigo could catch something simple whilst Elettra worked on her. "Lay, please." Her next words spoke, speaking politely, a proper nature to her tone, as always. The woman never let herself show any signs of fear, never allowing her anger to get the best of her in order to look as though some ignorant child. She had been well-kept as a growing woman. From here, should Skylah lay down before her, Elettra would lift her own frame from the sit she had been holding, a single fore-paw lifting to pad into the ground up burdock. Lifting it to the woman, she would first make way to her shoulders, rubbing the police onto the obvious wounds created there. "This is burdock I have here. I've chewed the leaves and now am applying this, as it aids in speeding up the healing process. I'd like for you to keep the roots, should you decide to go off on your own from here. If one of your wounds gets infected, you may chew the roots, perhaps mix with some mud to make a police of it and apply to relieve the infection." She would explain all this as she worked on the woman. After having finished applying the mush to her shoulders, she moved to the woman's haunches, dabbing with her paw on the larger of the wounds. With little to work with (only a mouthful after all) Elettra was able to cover the largest of cuts from the predator, thus, the smaller cuts and scraps being forgotten as less important.

Golden colored eyes darted around in his skull, determined to look anywhere but at the copper colored she-wolf in the water. Elettra seemed fully involved in what she was doing, so he didn't want to interrupt her with questions, like what was it exactly that she was chewing on. Raigo had not been aware that Elettra had any medical training or was knowledgeable in those areas. If he had, he would have sought her out immediately, to tend to Vlar's wounds. Mentally kicking himself for not having found out more about his fellow second sooner, he made a mental note to ask Elettra if she would take a look at the ivory female when she finally returned to Grizzly Hollow.

His attention was grabbed when Skylah asked him a question and he looked up. She had fully submerged herself in the water, minus an inch or two. "Yeah, almost. Just a little more and you'll be fine," he told her, happy that he could be of some help, even if that wasn't necessarily what he had meant when he had offered it. But he was happy to be of some use, and not just standing there staring at her while she bathed and then was worked on by Elettra. She listened to his advice and submerged herself completely before returning to dry land, opposite of where Raigo was standing. As she shook herself dry, she asked him a question, returning his thoughts to his previous ones. Smiling fully, Rai nodded his youthful head in affirmation. "Yeah, we did find each other. I tried to convince her to come back to Grizzly Hollow, but she had something else she needed to do." Explaining this to her, he did feel some mild confusion as to why she knew about this at all, but he figured that he would simply let it go. It was not a widely kept secret, and the more wolves who knew about his quest to be reunited with his sister, the easier it was going to be, provided that they were kind enough to help him track her down. While there was some sense of accomplishment in the fact that he had done it by himself, it would have been much easier if he had had help.

Speaking of help, Elettra caught his attention by asking him if he would go hunt for Skylah. Her injuries would make it difficult, and he nodded again. "Of course I will," he assured them, flashing a smile in their direction. Turning over his shoulder, he began to move back towards the woods that bordered the creek. He would do his best, but hunting required patience, and he doubted that it would be a matter of minutes before he returned.

Her question didn't throw him, or his facial expression did not betray any confusion on his part. She gave a thoughtful nod to his reply. Sure she thought it was weird now he was sorta waiting for her to come home but, least they knew where the other was; she assumed that part of things any way. "Oh, well I'm sure she will. I know she really wanted to find you," she said with a brief smile deciding to leave it at that. She couldn't see the white wolf finding her him, just to leave him on his own. What did she know?

Elettra's voice brought her out of her thoughts. Of all the things she had thought, and worried about food had not been on the list. So when Elettra inquired if Raigo might get her something she realized just how bad of shape she was in. She even went as far to turn her head to look at her mangled muscle, but quickly pulled her eyes from it. Seeing her wounds made them seem worse, indeed running was out of the question. Collecting a breath in her cheek, she wouldn't argue she needed help in the food department, and smiled a grateful smile to the lad when he agreed watching him soon disappear to find something. Gray peppered ears swiveled back on her head, and gingerly she lowered herself to the ground. She did her best to hold still during the process, listening diligently to the lady's every word. She soon decided she could not go anywhere on her own, not yet. She waited, deciding not yet to voice her choice out loud.

She was quiet, not much for the small talk though she listened as they mentioned Vlarindara. Elettra was happy enough to hear of the woman's return and her reuniting with her brother, though still wished to meet with her sometime soon in order to see how she was fairing with her own two eyes. Nodding as the younger man was in agreement, El's gaze followed her second (and partner) as he rushed off into the brush in search for some chow for the injured woman she was caring for. Elettra would not doubt the youngster. Still full of energy, even if he had not mastered hunting as someone older might have, he had enough in him to try and try again. After Elettra's travel, although she could have managed to hunt herself, it was a risk she did not wish to take by leaving the woman alone. This, and Elettra simply was not up for it after having traveled here and took time to treat the woman's wounds. Elettra's eyes were fleeting as they scanned the woman's body, inspecting all of her wounds- those larger and those smaller in search for any oddity of any kind. Skylah had done well with little to no resistance as Elettra had moved the chewed up plant-life onto her wounds. Shylah had only listened, hopefully taking note of this should she need to treat someone else in the same manner within the future. Finished, Elettra found herself scooting back a bit, offering the ginger timbered woman room for comfort. "Feel free to rest, if you'd like." Her muzzle outstretched to the ground before pulling back, her position relaxing further as she lay. "Ill take guard." It might be a few hours before Raigo's return with a small meal in order to settle the woman's stomach (should she be feeling at all hungry) and thus decided perhaps her rest should be good to pass the time. Although this left Elettra to silence, she in fact, preferred the relaxation of only one's company without the need for mindless chatter.

Raigo Akreon

The youth disappeared into the woods, his dark brown top coat helping him to blend in while his white and cream underbelly made him stand out. That was the way he was himself, two sided, doing his best to try and balance out the growing adult and the dwindling youth inside of him. His original reason for going to the creek had been a childish one, and his reason for leaving it now was an adult one. As the second of Grizzly Hollow, Raigo had a lot to live up to, and it would take some time before he had fully adjusted to the change in responsibility.

Right now, it was his responsibility to get food for Skylah. In her injured state, it would be difficult for her to get food for herself. Elettra was the healer, which meant that it fell to Raigo to bring home the bacon, as the saying went. Well, not fell to exactly, he had offered his help with no real idea of what that meant in mind. So nose to the ground, the bi-colored male set off, breathing in deeply, trying to gather any scents he could. But he came up empty. There were beavers, of course, but they were rather large mammals, and ones that had teeth that would fight back. While Elettra was a medic, she had her hands fully tending to Skylah and he didn't want to burden her with unnecessary work by being bitten by an angry beaver. So bypassing that possibility, he began to wander further away.

Maybe half an hour or so later, he finally came upon a scent he deemed worthy. It was that of a hare. The game became one of tracking now, and Raigo slipped into stealth mode. The trail took him even further from where the two females were waiting for him, but he couldn't be bothered with putting a maximum distance on his prey. Another half an hour later, the final pounce was made as the hare came into view. It escaped first, but the youth was quick to recover his miscalculated jump. With one swift bite, he ended the hare's screams and shook his head violently, taking with him the hare's life.

The trek back didn't take as long as the trek there, as he took a more direct route, but by the time he returned, his prize hanging from his blood smeared jaws, he had been gone almost two hours. Head dipped low, he wagged just the tip of his tail as he stepped bravely into the water. Lifting his head as high as he could the medium sized male did his best to keep it from falling in. Clearly the water, Raigo approached Elettra, setting the kill before her. Stepping back, he waited for her approval before taking it to Skylah so that she could eat.

sorry for the wait. feel free to beat me :X

we are all decieving, lost, and bleeding.

The offer of rest brought her tired eyelids to flutter upward. Rest. Sounded like a magical land, for though her eyes had been closed she doubted her body had much rested during her small episode. She was more knocked out for well she wasn't sure how long. A short nap sounded wise, and a luxury she might not have again.

"I think I'll least try," she confirmed with a single bob of her head, and grateful grin. She surveyed the ground beneath her, and decided where she was was just as good a place as any. Gingerly she tucked her cream limbs beneath her, and bundled in a ball resting, head tucked against a forelimb. A small huff, she studied the Grizzly Hollow wolf, wondering if she might feel hesitant to trust the lady. The feeling did not come, and her eyes closed. After a quiet moment, and the trickling of the stream she was coaxed into a light sleep.

Within moments after the woman's agreement, did silence become of them. The wounded woman lay curled amongst herself in delicately slumber, whilst Elettra's body lay not far in rest, her pale gaze fluttering over the lands in watch, front limbs outstretched comfortably and every so often would her ears twitch to the sound of anything over then the flowing waters of the stream. Whatever amount of time that passed Elettra would not come to realize, for in her peace she found settlement in her wondering mind. Needless to say upon Raigo's sudden return, did her body jump in a quivering motion, hackles raising to their full height as her head shot up in the direction of which the noise was sounded, only to be filled by the view of her second, hare in tow. Hackles falling as she quickly once more relaxed, her front limbs back-tracked in order to lift herself up off from the ground in her lay and back into a sit. Allowing him to settle the hare before her and step back, she offered him a small smile in agreement. "Wonderful Raigo. I offer my thanks." Now lifting the hare into her own parted jaws, she would take only the few steps needed in order to reach the resting Shylah, settling the meal before her weary head. Pulling back to keep her face from injury (should she hold in nightmares from the recent events- El had learned her lesson time and time before) she would lift a paw to pad it at the woman's crown to rise her from her slumber.

Short post is short. :x

Pride filled the youth and he stepped backwards as Elettra complimented his kill. It was only a small morsel, but it would be enough for Skylah. At the point, he figured that any bit of nourishment would be more helpful than not. Golden eyes sized up Elettra, his fellow second, and a pang of guilt hit him. He had not brought anything back for her. While that had not been his task, Raigo knew that she would probably be just as hungry. Though he knew that if he left to go find her something, it would take him another couple of hours before he returned, and he was not particularly aware of what the plans of the females were. Was Skylah being brought back to Grizzly Hollow for further recovery, or was she returning to where ever it was she lived? He hadn't thought to ask. Settling back on his haunches, the lanky male watched as Elettra approached, a silver paw touching the creme wolf's forehead as a means to wake her. He would ask whenever she woke up.
