The exchange between her and Cessair had gone smoothly as anything; and it did a great deal to settle her down; at least for the moment. There was no open opposition among the adult ranks so far; though Raela had not really done much enforcing of her position yet. It felt wrong to lift her tail and carry herself so high over Minka's land while everyone was still adjusting to the fact. It felt wrong to be in the position to begin with but it was something the agouti woman would have to deal with. It was better now that at least they had a secure leader; one who would definitely take up the role and do whatever she could to keep them all together. One of the strongest pulls she was now feeling though was toward the Crest's eldest son.

Kova had been distant, and while she cared little for how Ari and Kino thought of her in the wake of everything that had happened; she did care about Kova. If the kids would not listen to her or Gent they still had their oldest brother. If he was her last hope of setting them straight then so be it. But even as her anger burned bright and hot, the greatest of her worries was just for how the silver lad was feeling. Both of his parents had died in his lifetime and his litter mate had been missing long enough to be considered dead; though she would never wish such a thing and was perfectly happy to act as though she didn't believe it for his sake if nothing else. The lad was alone, and yet he wasn't. Empathy drew her down his scent trail just as it had when Minka had lost her mate. He was not alone. She wouldn't let him feel that way if she could.

It was predictable as anything that he be down at the water's edge; fishing in the streams near the mountain's base and away from everyone else. By the looks of it he was having a hard time, too. She approached quietly; keeping her tail low despite her position. Raela couldn't think of such sacrilege right now. She was not his mother; she was his friend and she was worried about him. Glossy golden eyes trailed the silver form from behind, ears folded with concern as her mouth finally opened. "Kova?" the woman called; her voice soft and gentle. She came to a stop some distance behind him; waiting for the Lagina heir to beckon her closer or chase her away or whatever he wanted to do. Rae just wanted to talk.
