Celandine Argyris

“You sure?” It questioned her authority, her position, her capabilities. Like a loaded gun it sat between them, awaiting it's chance to fire, and when it did not, even Celandine found herself surprised. Truth be told, she was tired. Too tired to play games with him, too weary to fight. There in the dim light, she was able to pretend that his stony gaze wasn't scrutinizing; that it was merely curious, or lust-filled, though she could feel the presence of his eyes, unwavering in their barrage. Inhaling, the princess turned her attention to the lake, watching as the inky water lapped at the surface.

The moments that followed her exhale were spent in blissful silence. The small crashing of waves, the light sound of breathing, and somewhere much deeper in the caves, she could hear the scuttling of some small creature. The youngest Argyris needed that time to mull over her answer, imagining how the syllables might taste on her tongue, and when she found them too bitter, the Argyris chose another path. "Are we truly sure of anything?" Even her future position was not set in stone. It was still entirely possible that Aesire might decide that she liked the feeling of a crown atop her skull, and regardless of whether Celandine held the better claim or not, the youth would only be as strong as her body; as clever as her mind. It was impractical to believe that one could step beyond their physical limitations, and the pale girl was anything but.

Without another thought, another word, she stood. Her eyes grazed his for a split second, before she moved to the water. It's icy depths seemed to suck the warmth from her bones, but it felt nice. "Care to join me?" She called over her shoulder, beckoning the boy forward.

Each move that the pale princess before him made took him by surprise; her ‘prissy’ attitude had simmered since her arrival, as well as the amount of words that spilled off her tongue. The long-limbed boy did not care what had caused the change – the shift in her demeanor was welcome. He remained where he was, his tense muscles relaxing as he realized that the female was not going to shop down his throat. The silence that had fallen between them, although temporary, was comforting. While her pause was uncharacteristically dragged on, her response was not at all what he had expected. It was an extremely peculiar response, one that had obvious underlying meaning that Greer was not willing to indulge in. Not wanting to question her words, the silver-eyed boy simply shrugged in response. Although… odd, the girl’s words spoke true.

Her sudden movement nearly startled the smudge, but he remained where he was. His brows narrowed in curiosity as he observed her delicate, fluid movements toward the edge of the mysterious lake. She’s going to try to drown me, he thought glumly to himself as his pale orbs followed her lazily. As he watched her step into the dark liquid he shivered along with her; just be looking at the water he knew that it would be cold. He doubted that the waters of this underground lake had ever felt the gentle rays of the sun – and if they had, it had only been brief. A question came from the girl, only adding to the mystery of the pale princess before him. She truly was a strange creature, and Greer was not sure if he liked her yet. He didn’t really like anyone who was not related to him, which why he was so conflicted about this stranger. Although her personality bounced around and her words were fueled with fire, Greer was less annoyed by her than he thought he would be. Troubling, very troubling…

He shuffled closer to the water’s edge, a frown creasing his maw as he observed the ripples her movements had made in the dark surface. Normally Greer was rather fond of water, but the thought it chilling him to the bone was not a pleasant thought. It reminded him of his adventures in the snow, which had resulted in him getting lost and separated from his family for a few weeks… He shivered at the thought, his grimace only deepening as his silver gaze landed on the girl once more. “Don’t like cold,” he commented absently with another roll of his shoulders.

Celandine Argyris
I'm so sorry this took so long. I suck x.x @Greer

Celandine watched Greer over her shoulder, his dark coat nearly fading into the dim background. He shuffled forward, though she found his fluid movements rather odd. Somehow the pale girl had expected the motions to be pained, and jerky from lack of use. Probably because he had been so statuesque before, moving only his eyes as though he were some sort of painting which lined the walls of an old haunted building. He stopped then, his molten eyes staring cautiously at the dark waters. Without even tasting the tide's chill for himself, it would seem that his mind was made up. “Don’t like cold,”

If there was one thing the princess hated more than being disrespected, it was being disobeyed, and although she hadn't directly given an order, it sorta felt like she had. Fortunately, the chilling temperature of the lake subdued the princess' anger, halting it's wake before it could truly begin. He would not see disappointment on her features though, nor would he hear it in her voice. She was a future queen, and as such, Celandine had to hold herself to a certain standard.

The Argyris turned to face him, her light mass disturbing the tide, and sending ripples farther than the dim light would allow her to see. If he wanted to make a game out of this too, than who was she to deny him that? Unable to let his rejection go, the princess spoke. "And why is that?" An unwillingness to chance his own discomfort? Unable to take a risk? Fear? What kept the boy ashore?  She had to get to the bottom of it.

definitely okay! <3

Greer was still unsure of his feelings toward the pale princess – as much as she annoyed him, she also intrigued him (in an annoying way). Due to him growing up with two brothers, the shadow prince had zero tolerance for her ‘prissy’ and ‘bossy’ attitude. There was already one strong female lead in his life, he did not need another. Especially one that seemed to easily irritated and demanding -- gross.

His frown only deepened across his maw as he observed the pale girl walk deeper into the water. The disturbance of the once flat surface bothered the statuesque boy, his mercury gaze narrowing as his brows furrowed. Her soft voice called out from the darkness, questioning how he felt about the cold. The boy could not help but roll his eyes, the peculiar action breaking his usual demeanor. “Just don’t,” he responded quickly and assertively, as though it should have been obvious. Part of the reason was because he had gotten lost in the snow for many days, but the alabaster princess did not need to know that. He had not decided whether this girl was friend or foe yet, and until then he was not willing to share any sort of personal information with her. He had not even given his name yet, and wouldn’t until she introduced herself first.

His short answer was unsurprising to the princess, who offered only a small nod of acceptance in return. It would seem that the boy had no intention of spilling his secrets just yet, and she certainly did not plan on sharing her own. They were deadlocked, though he showed no signs of realizing it. Repressing a huff, the female made an executive decision.  If he wouldn't give her what she wanted, then she had no choice but to leave. The future queen refused to grovel or beg, and the dark male didn't seem to care either way, but oh, did she plan on making an exit.

The hint of a smile dared to play on her features, as Celandine moved toward him. Slow, and sultry, as though she were stalking prey, the youth pulled herself out of the frigid lake. Excess water fell from her ivory coat in beads, splashing hard against the cave floor in such a way that the whole cave seemed to fill with the sound. Adrenaline pumping once again, she locked her amber eyes onto his form.

Inching closer, and closer, it seemed as though she were planning a head on collision. In a way, she wanted to test the waters, see just how close she could get to him, but her flair for dramatics really pushed her onward. It wouldn't be until the last second, that she would avert her course, with the intent of ghosting his side on her way. Maybe he would come calling again.

Greer Archer-Lyall
Greer is so weird D:

The slender girl seemed irritated by his lack of responses but it did not phase the shadow; it was her own fault for getting all huffy-puffy about it. The more time they spent together, even with the few words exchanged between them, the more apparent it became that the girl was the princess of her pack. It seemed as though she expected him to do what she wanted, and respond immediately when spoken to, but Greer was not about following orders (unless they came from his mother). Especially orders from some bratty princess.

His silver gaze remained focused on her as she edged toward him, abandoning the dark water as she closed the distance between them. The smudge was not sure what she was doing, nor did he want to find out – but he did not want to back away. He would not give her that satisfaction. Although he was incredibly uncomfortable, the boy remained precisely where he was, his limbs locked beneath him as he observed her slow movements. His mind screamed at her to divert her course, but the pale female continued forward with a glimmer of determination in her sunflower-yellow gaze. Greer was positive that she was going to hit him straight on, and as he braced himself for it, the girl stepped to the side suddenly. Her damp fur brushed against his silky (dry) coat, causing the yearling to instantly recoil against the physical contact. As much as he wanted to scamper away from her, Greer attempt to maintain as much composure as possible as he quickly turned to face her while wearing a look of obvious discomfort. There was nothing for him to say – nothing he wanted to say. He had made it as obvious as he could that the physical contact, although brief, was not okay. It took every ounce of willpower in his slender boy to keep his upper lip from curling to expose his canines; instead, he simply scowled at the girl as she stepped away from him.
