probably wrap this up in a few posts? up to you. also feel free to like, name the place??? :3
The pressure against her body was enough to dispel the worst of her worries, but nothing could dull the sharpness of her wariness as she turned her head about and then back once more to the macabre pile. A strange, but persistent desire to run up to the pyramid and tear it all down nagged at her constantly as she turned over each bone in her head, every sight more horrifying than the last. But Sven was confident, Sven had a grasp on the situation, and her eyes widened when he asserted that it was another of their kind. And that, along with the cool acceptance of Sven was hard for her to grapple with and make sense of. She was not sure what this said of her friend, if it said anything at all, or of the mysterious killer. A good hunter? Her golden eyes swept over the bones for the thousandth time, feeling that there was something horribly, horribly wrong with this statement.

Sven admired this "hunter," but she could not. Nervously she tried to figure out whether or not she should try to press her opinion onto him or if she would be better off finding a way to politely disagree. Or maybe she should say nothing at all. Fear certainly made the silence easier, though she had to wonder if this was how evil got into wolves: silence, inaction, passivity. But she was anything but passive as her eyes continued to roam.

The sense of safety was only half-felt, despite Sven's logical explanation. It smelled like no one in particular, so he must have been right. But he just seemed a little too swayed by whatever glory he saw in this pile of "prizes." If the "hunter" were to suddenly appear she was not so sure that Sven would protect her so much as he would be entrapped in learning about this ugly wolf whom Sahalie could not be interest in. She didn't want to remain silent any longer. "But there are wolf bones in here Sven. That's not hunting... Idunno... come on, let's play tag somewhere else. It just gives me the creeps. " Her teeth rooting through his scruff, she nibbled and tugged lightly in attempt to wrench him away from this awe he felt.

SVEN ARCHER
& the night is closing in

She didn't answer him immediately, and so his gaze lifted back toward the scene before them. More closely he inspected the gathered trophies, taking in additional details with each sweep. Armed with his own experiences he tried to match separate bones to what they had come from and exactly where their place may have been, but of course he came up with little. It would be far better to sort through the pile, to go over each piece one by own, to sort them and place them like a puzzle... Sahalie's voice at last lifted to drag him from these imaginative thoughts.

There was something specific in her tone that drew his gaze once more, and her clarification forced him to take a look at himself. He was crossing a line, and part of him knew exactly where it had been drawn, but moreover he found the matter to be blurred. Unwilling to give her reason to doubt him, he did not wish to let her know this. His mouth pressed into a thin line and he nodded to show her that he was taking her concern seriously.

"Yeah, you're right," he confirmed, and just to be certain that she felt he understood he prodded his nose reassuringly against her cheek. "Give ya a head start, and I'll be 'it.'"

For her, he'd leave this Skeletal Hill behind, but only for now. It was pretty certain that he would be back on his own, the fascination he felt for it far too strong to simply discard, even if his friend would disapprove.
